"The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star" (released September 18 via MTV Pocketbooks/Simon & Schuster) debuted at #7 on The New York Times Book Review non-fiction best-seller list.
Twenty-five percent of the book's profits will be donated to Running Wild In The Night — Sixx's fundraising initiative for Covenant House California, which helps keep runaway, abused and abandoned youth off the streets.
While having all the rock star riches and luxuries, Sixx told Sun Media that he also had a $5,000 a day drug habit, one that is vividly chronicled in "The Heroin Diaries".
"That's how I communicated," Sixx said. "I had to or I would go crazy and even as I was going crazy I had to write it down to see if what I was seeing and hearing and feeling was real.
"Cocaine was really the biggest downfall. Heroin you can maintain, sadly, but cocaine you start getting into the amounts of freebasing and mainlining you go into a whole other world of insanity."
The 400-plus page book, written in part with journalist Ian Gittins, is a brutally honest look at Sixx's hellish year, one which saw him overdose and be declared clinically dead at one point while MÖTLEY CRÜE toured behind its "Girls, Girls, Girls" album. The book also features recent interviews Gittins did with band mates, friends and family members, interviews Sixx says pull no punches.
"They would say things like, 'He was undependable, he was a bit of a dictator when it came to the music but I love Nikki,' " he says. "I'm like, 'That's a fucking waste of my time!' Let's get into the meat of it and get into it. Ian got in there and really pulled out what was going on and peeling away all the stuff that's going on now."
As I Lay Dying Back On The Road In 2008
Gearing up for another relentless touring schedule in 2008, As I Lay Dying are not waiting long after the New Year to get back on the road. The January 2008 leg of their acclaimed AN OCEAN BETWEEN US tour will feature a fresh crop of opening bands - August Burns Red, Evergreen Terrace and Still Remains - and will continue to bring their genuine brand of fist-pumping metal to a theatre near you. The outing will begin on January 10th in Las Vegas, NV and will continue on through February 1 in Omaha, NE.
A video was recently completed for the band's new track "The Sound Of Truth." The clip, a sequel to the story in the video for "Nothing Left," was filmed in Los Angeles while the band was between tours. It was directed by Brian Thompson and is slated to debut in January on MTV2's Headbangers Ball.
Guitarist, Phil Sgrosso says of the upcoming trek "2008 is going to be a very busy year for us and there's no better way to start it off than with a US headline tour. We'll be hitting a lot of cities that we haven't played for a while and we're bringing along our friends in August Burns Red, Evergreen Terrace, and Still Remains. This is going to be an exciting tour for us and all of our fans, I can't wait."
Tickets for the dates below will go on sale on Friday Nov-23.

Led Zeppelin To Tour With The Cult?
Gil Kaufman of MTV.com reports: It was one of those moments where all you can do is look at the guy next to you and wonder, "Did he really just say that?"
Is it possible that Ian Astbury, lead singer of '80s rock powerhouse THE CULT, spilled the beans on the biggest secret in rock — during a club show in Cincinnati?
"We'll be back next year," a breathless Astbury said midway through the band's gig at Bogart's nightclub Saturday night. "Because we're opening for a band you may have heard of ... the name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it." Stunned looks bounced around the room until one sweat-drenched superfan shouted out the obvious: "LED ZEPPELIN!" Astbury, his eyes hidden behind dark shades, nodded affirmatively and stuck his hand in the air triumphantly before plowing into one of the band's signature Zeppelinesque rockers.
When asked about Astbury's seeming confirmation of the world tour, spokespeople for THE CULT and ZEPPELIN both declined to comment. ZEPPELIN's spokesperson added that no decision has been made on any LED ZEPPELIN tour and the band is focusing on its appearance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert in London on December 10; a CULT spokesperson declined to answer questions about Astbury's comment.

King Diamond Cancels North American Tour
KING DIAMOND's North American headlining tour — which is scheduled to launch March 23 in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, and run through May 8 in Houston — has been cancelled due to a herniated disc.
"I can't sit down, even on my couch, for more than a few minutes," King recently told MTV.com. "About [two months ago] I tried, and after 15 minutes, it started feeling like my left leg was getting set on fire."
"It can take up to a year and a half for a severe herniated disc to heal properly, but it varies from person to person," he added. "Right now there's not much more we can do."
Diamond got a taste of what might happen if he hits the road too soon in September when director Bill Schacht from video company Aestheticom — which has also worked with AMON AMARTH — shot a video for "Give Me Your Soul", the first KING DIAMOND clip in 17 years. "They limited what I had to do, of course, so I only did one day of shooting for 90 minutes, but just standing there moving a little bit in the full outfit was very difficult," he said. "And afterwards, I got one of those sharp attacks of pain that I hadn't had in a month and a half. The only thing I can compare it to is a really super-bad toothache or earache. And afterwards, I was like, 'OK, I'm not ready [to tour] yet.' "
Regarding how he injured his back, the 51-year-old singer said, "I think the real damage happened mixing the record, because I did that three weeks straight for a minimum of 12 hours a day. One of the last nights, when I was going to bed, I felt these pains in the sciatic nerves on each side, and I thought, 'Oh what is this?' The next morning I woke up and I couldn't walk or stand. It was like being paralyzed. I can't begin to say how painful it was. They say that's the worst pain you can experience as a human being. Had I not lived on the ground floor in a house, I would have jumped out the window."
Biomechanical Album To Feature Orechestral Tracks
The forthcoming release from UK extreme progressive metallers BIOMECHANICAL is set to feature four exclusive orchestral tracks. These expanded and reworked orchestral versions will only be available on a limited edition first pressing of "Cannibalised", which is due to be released on February 11, 2008 in Europe and February 26 in the USA.
These exclusive orchestral tracks have been masterminded by BIOMECHANICAL mainman John K and include the songs "Imperium (Absolution Parts I+III)" and "Through The Remains (Consumed)" taken from "The Empires Of The Worlds" and two tracks adapted from "Cannibalised", which include "Beyond The Descent (Fallen In Fear/Regenerated)" and "Reborn Into Darkness (Through Hatred Arise)".
Mixed by the legendary producer Chris Tsangarides (JUDAS PRIEST, BRUCE DICKINSON), "Cannibalised" showcases an aggressive and confrontational side of BIOMECHANICAL, which is complemented by the addition of epic and cinematic-sounding orchestral tracks, adding to an exhilerating listening experience. With a fresh new lineup, which sees John K joined by Chris Van Hayden, Gus Drax, Jono Lodge and ex-DRAGONFORCE bassist Adrian Lambert, this release marks a new era for BIOMECHANICAL.

Anthrax Guitarist Talks Music, Movies And More
ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian recently answered 20 questions about music, movies, comics and life for the Our World's At War web site. A couple of excerpts follow:
Our World's At War: Being a New York guy, what's it like living in LA?
Scott Ian: The NY I grew up in and lived in until 1989 is long gone. I'm back there at least once a month to see friends/biz etc and it's great for 3-4 days but that's it. Manhattan is a different place that I don't identify with. LA is a much easier place to live in every way (unless you live in Malibu and your house burned down) especially coming from the NY I come from. LA has everything NYC has without the chaos and you don't have to be rich to live here. And, I have winter on my terms. I can go snowboard and then be back in 70 degrees and sun.
Our World's At War: Do you think the Internet is a good thing or the devil?
Scott Ian: Like all good things, moderation is the key. I think it's easy to fall into the trap of your whole life existing on the internet and never leaving your house. The internet is a tool for me and nothing more. I'd rather interact with other humans (as horrible as that can be) than live behind a firewall.
Our World's At War: Which is better, ninjas or samurai? Why?
Scott Ian: Better? I don't know. If Ninja's have supernatural powers than they would be better. If it's just man vs. man, I'll go with Samurai, the Bushido code an d all that.
Our World's At War: Top five favorite and least favorite movies?
Scott Ian: Off the top of my head, "Godfather 1" & "2", "Raging Bull", "Goodfellas", "Blue Velvet", "Casablanca". Least? "Godfather 3". "Spider-Man 3". "Lost Highway". All disappointing. I can't think of any more right now. My movie-filter is very strict and I usually don't see crap. I'm sure there's more but I've blocked them.

Ray "Black Metal" Wallace Suffers Burst Aneurysm
In tragic news, Toronto-based metal icon Ray "Black Metal" Wallace has had a serious medical emergency. He's had a long-time involvement in the music and entertainment industry. He managed SACRIFICE in the '80s/'90s and still runs Black Metal Management (with ties with Canuck legends RAZOR and ANVIL), most recently working with SCARLET SINS. He is also a local promoter, most recently booking original bands in on Thursdays at Rock & Roll Heaven. Earlier this year, he co-ordinated the Original Rock 'N' Roll Heaven Reunion party at Rok Boutique.
Ray had been complaining of an ongoing headache for a week. He collapsed at his home early Thursday, November 15th. His mother found him on the floor of his room unable to get up or move. He was however able to call out his mother's name, but with great difficulty, yet otherwise was unable to speak.
Paramedics rushed him to Centennial Hospital in Scarborough; his condition was deemed too critical for their facility, and he was transferred immediately to Toronto Western where they did surgery on Thursday evening.
An aneurysm located on the top of his head just back of the hairline, had burst. He is currently in an induced coma to aid the healing and control ongoing mini seizures and a fever. Ray is in critical condition. Doctors at this point in time do not know the extent of the damage that has been caused, however he is having ongoing CT scans and other medical tests. Although there is no way of telling at this point, Ray's doctors have told his parents that his chances of surviving are better than most due to their ability to get medical help quickly.
Ray is 43 years old.

Primordial Frontman Discusses Illegal Downloading
PRIMORDIAL frontman Alan "Nemtheanga" Averill has joined the downloading debate with a no-holds-barred attack on those who illegally take and share MP3s online. Speaking to the UK's Zero Tolerance magazine, he said, "The Internet is a great promotional tool on one hand, and bands can get their music out there so easily. The downside of this is that a whole generation of people feels it's their right to get music for free…We are given money from our label, within which we have to record our album. It's our choice if we want to give them some crap ProTooled bedroom recording, but we don't. We have to repay that money through our sales. If we don't sell anything, we get dropped, we don't have money to record, go on tour et cetera. I have to pay to make PRIMORDIAL's music, so why should someone else get it completely for free? All I can say is for as long as PRIMORDIAL exists we will stand opposed to [downloading] and create real music."
Nemtheanga's comments form part of a special report on downloading in the current issue of Zero Tolerance in which all sides of the debate, voiced by fans, bands and labels alike, air their views: for some downloading spells the end for the music industry as we know, for others it is merely a new chapter with new opportunities. Limited Edition Black Sabbath Book Available
Music writer and drummer Joel Gausten (PIGFACE, THE UNDEAD, ELECTRIC FRANKENSTEIN) has published a special second edition of his book "The Sabbath Interviews".
Originally conceived and published as a special Halloween-only release for readers of Gausten's MySpace page, "The Sabbath Interviews" is a 48-page collection of interviews conducted by Gausten for his upcoming full-length book "Albums that (Should've) Changed the World". In addition to interviews with former BLACK SABBATH drummer Eric Singer (KISS, ALICE COOPER) and SABBATH recording bassist Bob Daisley (RAINBOW, OZZY OSBOURNE), "The Sabbath Interviews" includes a revealing 24-page interview with drummer Bill Ward regarding his post-BLACK SABBATH solo albums, his struggles with addiction and his work with various charities. "Soon after discontinuing 'The Sabbath Interviews' on November 1, I was inundated with requests to make the book available to the general public," Gausten explains. Leaves's Eyes Enter The Studio
LEAVES' EYES frontwoman Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull has posted the following message at the band's MySpace page:
"Dear Friends & Fans,
It's already a week since we played our last show for this year in Krefeld, Germany, with BLIND GUARDIAN, and now we're back in the studio, composing songs for our third album.
It was very, very nice to meet "the Guardians" again as we became close friends at our North-American tour earlier this year. Unfortunately I was feverish, struggling with the flu, however pain-killers are good in such a situation. The show has to go on, and yes, it was a good one.
Surprise: my sister Carmen Elise is having her vocals recorded for the next MIDNATTSOL album. It's good to have my sister around at our studio.
Today my son and I been busy packing 17 boxes of clothes and toys which will be sent to children living on the streets or in children's homes in Romania. If you can help somebody in any possible way - do it, and share your luck, love, fortune and happiness with other people!
Here's some love from me to you,
Liv."

Job For A Cowboy Spitting on NYC Fans Causes Stir
Fans at the final show of this years Radio Rebellion Tour at the Fillmore in New York City were treated to a set of performances by BEMEHOTH, GOJIRA, and JOB FOR A COWBOY. One concert goer, however, didn’t appreciate the performance of one band in particular. A first had experience submitted to SMNnews reads as follows…embellished, unnecessary, justified? You decide:
“Bassist, Brent Riggs, of Job For a Cowboy classlessly handled jeering fans when he decided to spit on paid ticket holders. Several fans in the audience where victim of the act and, because of the despicable act, left the show with spit on their faces. What their label, Metal Blade Records, will do to quell this kind of behavior by its recording artists, still remains to be seen. But, it is certain that many fans of the other bands on that bill will not be purchasing any album put out by that label anytime soon.”

According to NME.com, LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page has revealed that his band will perform a track they have never played live before at their forthcoming O2 Arena show in London on December 10.
Speaking to Reuters, Page gave a vague clue as to the period the song comes from - although he offered a 12-year time zone.
"There's one number that we rehearsed, I assume that it will make it to the Dome, that we never played at any point in time," he explained. "It dates from when the band was together between 1968 and 1980. It's a really intense number."
After Forever Signature Guitar Now On Second Life
According to AFTER FOREVER guitarist Sander Gommans guitar manufacturer Patrick Hufschmid, who builds his guitars, has created a Sander Gommans signature edition axe in the digital world of Second Life. Gommans has issued the following update:
"Hi everybody,
Well, normally I try to write blogs about something I actually have some kind of knowledge of (at least, I THINK I do;-), but I must admit Second Life isn't part of that. When Patrick Hufschmid showed this to me some time ago I was amazed about this giant digital world, and it seems to have expanded even more!
Patrick decided to give After Forever some Second Life promotion, and it's awesome to see that it actually works out, I think he's one of the first guitar builders to do it in this unique way. He's created an After Forever guitar that you can actually buy and use for your second life character.
Well, if you want more info I'd advise you to go to Patrick's MySpace in my photosection on the seconds page are some pics. It's based on an Explorer model, I already reviewed this awesome guitar on a previous blog, but check out the pics and see for yourself that this one really looks (and plays) amazing!
Patrick, thanks for your support!"
Hufschmid, meanwhile, has issued the following overview:
"As you all know, I have a hobby, I have a guitar shop in Second Life and I build virtual guitars. I recently asked permission to Sander to build an official 'AfterForever Second Life Guitar' and he kindly accepted my offer. So, if you wish you can come to my shop in SecondLife (http://www.secondlife.com/) and come get the guitar!
This guitar took me over 6 hours to build, there is 161 items assembled in order to create the guitar, so it's a lots of work. Also the guitar is scripted, this means that when you click on it while wearing it, a menu will appear and will leave you choose 33 killer guitar riffs to play!
The guitar coasts 490 Linden.
You can find my shop very simply by searching for Hufschmid Guitars in the secondlife search enging. You will then find one of my classifieds adds which will allow you to teleport directly inside my shop.
Sander is not only a fine composer but an incredible guitar player, trust me!!!!!"

Slash Speaks On Guns N Roses Rumours
The following story is courtesy of CityNews.ca:
He plays heavy metal notes with a passion few others can match. But it turns out those aren't the only notes veteran axeman SLASH kept all those years. He's assembled enough of his experiences as the guitar god for GUNS N' ROSES to put them into a book. And this road warrior isn't afraid to tell all.
The real Saul Hudson's tome, Slash, is filled with tales from his beginnings with G'nR to his new incarnation in Velvet Revolver. The man looks the same - the characteristic mane and the ever present cigarette, hat and sunglasses. But he admits he's changed over the years of seeing so many strange things happening in his life. And it's his only chance to set the record straight.
"There were a lot of rumours about Guns 'N Roses going around that was really getting to me, you know," he confesses. "It was like stuff that I usually, you know, sort of just dismiss and don't pay much attention to, but it got to be really saturating and I got fed up and I said, 'okay, the only way I'm going to be able to get some accurate information out there, from at least the way that I see it, is to actually do the book.'"

Led Zeppelin Guitarist Video Interview Posted

In other news, NME.com reports that Page has explained that his finger is now better and the band will resume rehearsals this week.
The guitarist, speaking to Reuters, assured fans that his finger would be fine for ther concert, scheduled to take place on December 10.
"I suppose something like a ZEPPELIN reunion wouldn't be right without a bit of drama," he joked.
"This is two to two-and-a-half weeks from the injury and there we are, it's doing that," Page continued, wiggling his finger. "It's going to be fine for the concert. It's just a bit bruised and a bit painful, but it's going to be fine." More...

His paintings have been exhibited in art galleries all over North America.

Nine Inch Nails Remix SIte Halted
NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor has posted the following message on the band's web site:
"Several years ago I persuaded my record company to let me begin posting my master recording files on nin.com, in order to see what kind of user-generated content would materialize from my music. I had no agenda… the main reason I did it was because I thought it was cool and something I would have liked to do if it was available to me. A lot of really fun stuff started to happen….communities developed, web sites were created, even traditional radio got in the game and began playing the fans' mixes. I felt the experiment, despite not having a specific purpose, was a success. So much so that we're now releasing a remix album that includes some of this fan-created material as well as the actual multitrack master files for every song from my latest record, 'Year Zero'.
"One piece was missing to me and that was an official nin.com presence for aggregating all of the fan-created remixes. Several intrepid fans had stepped up and done a great job providing a destination for people to post these, but I felt all along this was a function I should more directly support. So, upon release of this new remix album, our plan has been to launch an official site on nin.com that would provide a place for all fan remix material and other interactive fan experiences.
"Or so I thought.
"On Saturday morning I became aware of a legal hitch in our plans. My former record company and current owner of all these master files, Universal, is currently involved in a lawsuit with other media titans Google (YouTube) and News Corp (MySpace). Universal is contending that these sites do not have what is referred to as 'safe harbor' under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and therefore are in copyright violation because users have uploaded music and video content that is owned by Universal. Universal feels that if they host our remix site, they will be opening themselves up to the accusation that they are sponsoring the same technical violation of copyright they are suing these companies for. Their premise is that if any fan decides to remix one of my masters with material Universal doesn't own — a 'mash-up,' a sample, whatever — and upload it to the site, there is no safe harbor under the DMCA (according to Universal) and they will be doing exactly what MySpace and YouTube are doing. This behavior may get hauled out in court and impact their lawsuit. Because of this they no longer will host our remix site, and are insisting that NINE INCH NAILS host it. In exchange for this they will continue to let me upload my Universal masters and make them available to fans, BUT shift the liability of hosting them to me. Part of the arrangement is having user licenses that the fans sign (not unlike those on MySpace or YouTube) saying they will not use unauthorized materials. If they WERE to do such a thing, everybody sues everybody and the world abruptly ends.
"While I am profoundly perturbed with this stance as content owners continue to stifle all innovation in the face of the digital revolution, it is consistent with what they have done in the past. So... we are challenged at the last second to find a way of bringing this idea to life without getting splashed by the urine as these media companies piss all over each other's feet. We have a cool and innovative site ready to launch but we're currently scratching our heads as to how to proceed.
More to come….
"By the way, the potential implications of a lawsuit like this one go well beyond creating hurdles for a NINE INCH NAILS remix site. Here is an excerpt from technology site Ars Technica regarding a similar lawsuit Viacom has filed against YouTube:
"'The DMCA's Safe Harbor provisions aren't just important to video sharing sites; they're important to almost every sector of Internet-based business. 'Nearly every major Internet company depends on the very same legal foundation that YouTube is built on,' said von Lohmann. 'A legal defeat for YouTube could result in fundamental changes to its business, potentially even making it commercially impossible to embrace user-generated content without first 'clearing' every video. In other words, a decisive victory for Viacom could potentially turn the Internet into TV, a place where nothing gets on the air until a cadre of lawyers signs off,' he said. 'More importantly, a victory for Viacom could potentially have enormous implications for Yahoo, eBay, Amazon, MySpace, and many other Internet companies, because they all rely on the same DMCA Safe Harbors to protect many facets of their businesses, as well. The stakes are high all around."
"Indeed."
NINE INCH NAILS' "Year Zero" album has been remixed track-by-track for "Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D", which is being released today (November 20) via Interscope. Among the remixers are NEW ORDER's Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert, the Faint, Bill Laswell, Ladytron, Fennesz and Saul Williams.
The remix of "My Violent Heart" was made by a fan, under the moniker Pirate Robot Midget. "Remix records can be disposable garbage (of which I myself have been guilty of to some extent) but this collection feels good to me," NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor previously wrote on NIN.com. "I reached out to heroes, friends and strangers. I encouraged those I approached to do anything and insert themselves as much as possible into the track."
"Y34RZ3R0R3MIX3D" will be available in a variety of formats: digital download, a triple-vinyl set and a CD/DVD-ROM. The latter will feature the multi-track files for all the tracks on the album that fans can manipulate via programs such as Garageband or Ableton Live.

Nevermore Frontman Reveals Cover Track For Debut
NEVERMORE frontman Warrel Dane has revealed more information about THE SISTERS OF MERCY cover song that he has recorded for his upcoming solo debut, tentatively due in early 2008 via Century Media Records.
Said Dane: "OK, so since there's so much speculation about what SISTERS song it's going to be, I have to let the cat out of the bag. Every song on that record [1987's 'Floodland'] is great but 'Lucretia' has always been my favorite, 'Dominion' being a close second.
"Anyone that knows me knows that I have always loved old-school goth. 'Nu goth' is kind of boring. Matt Wicklund [former HIMSA guitarist who collaborated with Dane on a few songs for the upcoming CD] did a great job of making 'Lucretia' METAL."
Dane wrote about eight tracks for his solo debut with former SOILWORK guitarist-turned-producer Peter Wichers.
Songtitles set to appear on the CD include:
01. When We Pray
02. Messenger (featuring Jeff Loomis)
03. Obey
04. Let You Down (featuring Chris Broderick)
05. August
06. Feel Failure (Hail Yesterday)
07. Brother
08. Patterns (PAUL SIMON cover)
09. Praises To The War Machine (featuring James Murphy)
10. This Old Man
11. Lucretia (THE SISTERS OF MERCY cover)
According to Dane, "I'm still working on vocals for three more songs but don't want to reveal the titles yet."
In a September 2006 interview with Metal-Rules.com, Dane stated about the upcoming solo CD, "I've been working on it for like the last year off and on, just writing songs with Peter Wichers, and at some point we'll finish them then go in the studio . . . It doesn't sound like NEVERMORE, and I think, you know, if it did, there wouldn't be much point in doing a side project. If it sounded like NEVERMORE I think it would be a little redundant . . . Of course it's metal! Kind of like metal-infused hard rock, I think. It's different and it's a chance for me to explore myself — explore myself in other ways! [laughs] Well, for me, and for Peter from SOILWORK as well, it was kind of a chance for us both to 'step outside the box,' because people expect a certain thing from both those bands and with this we don't have to fulfill any expectations. We can do whatever we want."
Saxon Frontman Talks Classic Rock
Komodo Rock recently sat down with SAXON frontman Biff Byford. The following is an excerpt from the interview:
Q: So, what defines Classic Rock to you?
BB: "For us, what defines it is heavy guitars with melodic vocals. A classic style that's been around for years. Obviously we're much darker now and we are much heavier now when we want to be. So our albums now consist of half rock n roll and half full-on heavy metal. And that seems to be the right mixture for us."
Q: So we're talking commercial success, we're talking 'I've Got To Rock To Stay Alive' your new single featuring Lemmy (MOTÖRHEAD), Angry Anderson (ROSE TATTOO), Andi Deris (HELLOWEEN). Was that fun to make?
BB: "I just asked some mates to sing with me on the song. It's a song about being in the business for a long time, and obviously Lemmy and Angry have! Andi's not been around quite so long."
Q: You had a good time making it. Do you think some of what your doing now, obviously you're a jobbing singer, this is what you do, this is what's making your living. Is it more about fun rather than making it big now. I was talking to Dee Snider (TWISTED SISTER) earlier and he said it's more about enjoyment now, because people know who we are, we've already made it, the thing is now to give people a good time, give the people what they want?
BB: "No, actually it's not like that with us. We like making records. Every record we make we try to make it better than the last one. It's really important to us that people are interested in what we're doing musically, because we're songwriters. We're not vaudeville entertainers so I think it is fun, yeah, but it's tinged with a seriousness that people take our music seriously, because we release albums every year or two years. In Dee's case they don't. They play classic songs from the '80s, we're slightly different from Twisted Sister. Dee makes records, but the rest, I don't think the rest are interested. It's the old thing, if you sell 3 million albums, why would you make one that sells 56 thousand? They're a little bit scared, and actually we don't give a shit! We just make records, we like making music, it's what we do."

This will be a spectacular return to UK shores for both Iron Maiden and their fans. Maiden have consistently performed headline stadium shows outside the UK and 'Maiden Mania' is currently gripping the world as tickets sales of the 2008 World tour fly out of the box offices in Australia, India, Japan, North and South America and now Europe with many shows selling out within only a few hours.
Steve Harris "It could be a bit of an understatement to say how excited we all are to be playing this show next summer. We've got hell of a tour planned visiting old and new fans all over the world but as always it's great to get home and play here in London especially at such a prestigious stadium as Twickenham. Fans who travel out to Europe for our stadium shows there have for a while been asking us to play one here as the audience in a stadium is much closer to the band than at a big festival and can see so much better. As some people will know I am a big football fan but have heard much about what a great stadium Twickenham is from our rugby mad manager!! So l'm definitely looking forward to savouring that atmosphere We played a couple of nights at Earls Court just before Christmas at the end of our last album tour and you always get such a great feeling playing at home with all your friends and family there. It's going to a fantastic occasion."
A full supporting bill for Twickenham will be announced shortly. Tickets go on sale to the public on November 30th, but members of the Iron Maiden fan club will get special and exclusive first access to purchase tickets on November 28th.
