Job For A Cowboy Spitting on NYC Fans Causes Stir

Band Photo: Job For A Cowboy (?)
Fans at the final show of this years Radio Rebellion Tour at the Fillmore in New York City were treated to a set of performances by BEMEHOTH, GOJIRA, and JOB FOR A COWBOY. One concert goer, however, didn’t appreciate the performance of one band in particular. A first had experience submitted to SMNnews reads as follows…embellished, unnecessary, justified? You decide:
“Bassist, Brent Riggs, of Job For a Cowboy classlessly handled jeering fans when he decided to spit on paid ticket holders. Several fans in the audience where victim of the act and, because of the despicable act, left the show with spit on their faces. What their label, Metal Blade Records, will do to quell this kind of behavior by its recording artists, still remains to be seen. But, it is certain that many fans of the other bands on that bill will not be purchasing any album put out by that label anytime soon.”

I'm with you there, Oz. I can't stand their music or their silly name. Spitting on people is disgusting. If the fans are jeering you, suck it up and keep playing. In music you have to expect a good amount of criticism. I don't see how the label has anything to do with this, though. Not unless they said, "Hey, spit on any jeering fans at your next show, k?". For some reason I highly doubt that was the case.

The funny thing is in the 80s in Britain, spitting on bands used to be a sign of respect! The thing is though, there's gonna be a load of JFAC fans turn up and flame us for our comments yet these would be the same people who slagged off Necro on the SOTU tour. Whether you like Necro or not, he played his entire set without resorting to this kind of behaviour.

I was there at the show and i saw it cause I was on the other side of the front of the stage. It is f***ed up I mean i wouldn't want to get spit on I would probably jump the barricade and kicked the bassist a$$ if i was that person, but who gives a sh** to write about this. Sebastian Bach threw a f***ing bottle at some chicks face now thats a big deal. I think its stupid to make this a article on the site...... ok you got spit on don't be a b**** you f***ing nerds and write a blog on it. Grow the f*** up there are a lot worst things that happen at shows, and if you cant take the heat then don't come to anymore metal shows ...... and I got to add that show was the sh** every bad put on a hell of a show and Job For A Cowboy And Behemoth killed that f***ing sh** cant wait to see them again......... and people don't be b****es at shows ... lol

POST 7:
Shut the f*** up. I would freak out if someone spit on me, i'd get punched in the face & not be as angry, but if some f*** spits on me, i'd go in an insane rage, thats sort of sh** is the most disrespectful thing anyone can do, and if you dont understand that, then you must enjoy gettin spit on by a bunch of queers while you jerk off & think of your daddy

Mimic, it's going to happen when you have a show line up like this. Putting JFAC and Behemoth on the same line up is asking for trouble between black metal fans and deathcore fans (I'm not saying someone can be both, but I know a lot of black metal fans who despise JFAC and their fans). But no band has the right to spit on their fans unless the fans expect that kind of thing, e.g. Gwar. Musicians have to deal with people not liking them or their music. This is what happens when a band is given overnight success and acclaim like JFAC received: They get egos.

hahahaha this is hilarious. caveman sit down, you're ridiculous. this is not the labels fault, so they are completely disregarded. whoever posted this is a moron for saying that. often times, people don't look at a label before they look at a band anyway. if you don't like out of the ordinary things, then don't go to an extreme metal show you fag. you mustn't ever of heard of GG Allin then , who defecated on stage, threw it at his fans, raped the woman near the stage violently, mutilated himself, etc... THAT is going to extremes and worth freaking out about. but a little spit is nothing. and caveman, the end of your post proved what kind of little homo you are, making sh** up about bigmomo3000 saying "jerk off to your daddy's image".... dude grow up you panzy.

you see caveman you must have the mind of a caveman cause I just said that i think it's f***ed up to do, and although I am a JFAC fan I would kick the bassist ass. I just think that it is not important to make article on this dumb sh**. Like i said there have been way worst sh** done at metal shows before and this is not important. So caveman if you want to go to metal shows don't cause you are not man enough to be at one go see the spice girls with your boyfriend b****. I hate f***ers like you because you guys are the reason there are so many fights at shows and cant handle get pushed around. Get over it and stop b****ing cause you ruin the show for everyone.

Spitting on someone in the croud, not cool. I remember at last year's SOTU tour, Evergreen Terrace spit into the croud, I just the lead vocalist, but yeah that sh**s weak. Despite they're stupid name, and lame fan following, I thought JFAC's Genesis was alright actually. Not bad but not worthy of all the hype either, they are very overrated.

anyone who goes to metal shows on a regular bassis knows that this kind of sh** happens. In fact if it bothers you so much i would reccomend not standing near the front. Its not a linkin park show its a behemoth show (and yes i know that wasnt the band responsible) and sh** like this is bound to happen. I went to this show (seattle date) and had a decent amount of stage blood spat on me, and it in no way affected my enjoyment of the show. JFAC is a sh** band, with for the most part sh** members, but the response to this is overwhelmingly fagtastic. -"What their label, Metal Blade Records, will do to quell this kind of behavior by its recording artists, still remains to be seen. But, it is certain that many fans of the other bands on that bill will not be purchasing any album put out by that label anytime soon.”- Thats the biggest crock of sh** ive ever heard. Band s dont buy albums based on how their label handles issues. The label can not police the behavior of their bands. Unless it is specifically written into the contract, the likleyhood of ANY punishment is slim, as it should be. Metal is not intended for p***ys who throw a sh** storm due to a bit of spittle in the face. f*** this dude.

*fans...not bands...fans will still buy the albums...and keep in mind metalblade has bands such as cannible corpse, cattle decapitation and many many more whos whole persona revolves around gore, violence, and other such "unsettling" issues. A little spit shouldnt disturb them too much.

27. writes:
I think the issue here is not the fact that spit is going to hurt anybody, but how disrespectful that is to spit on someone. That is one of the lowest, most degrading things you can do to someone. While a person shoudln't be heckling a band, there are far better ways to handle it. If your on stage, your going to be heckled a little bit; you have to have tougher skin than that.
However, Blowjob for a Cowboy hopefully will not be around much longer. Deathcore is terrible, with stupid pig squeals and breakdowns made for hardcore dancers. And they should not be touring with Behemoth and Gojira, who are 100 times the artists BJFAC could ever hope to be.

28. writes:
JFAC is really generic. Rules? No. Not terrible? I'll give you that.
Getting spit on as part of the act (fake blood from Behemoth or just the intensity of the singer) is one thing, but an artist reacting to someone in the crowd that doesn't like them needs to get his panties out of whatever twist they're in.

Okay. I was just checking to see if the mods were on their toes...
What I meant to say was "Handjobs for Cowboys are not a band that I favor much. I am not too fond of this band. If I were in attendanec at one of their famed live performances and the bass player spat upon my visage, I would rotate him 180 degrees and make him spit upon my phallus as to assist in lubricating it before it is slud into his anus."
Sorry for being so offensive last time. I will endeavor to halt these episodes in the future. Thank you.

dude its not all that big of a deal when u think about it if he spit on me i wouldnt really care id be kinda happy tho that a famous person spit on me from the stage but thats no reason not to buy an album thats really not cool thats like disliking sumone cuz they said the wrtong punchline its really uncool

i dont like any of those bands but i dont think its the labels fault and that the label should bea victim, if anything the band should be punished by the label or whoever, why should the other bands on the label be boycotted as well?
