Trollwar Releases New Single
Quebec, Canada's symphonic melo-death metal powerhouse Trollwar has just released "Bane Of The Underworld," the first single from their upcoming EP "Tales from the Frozen Wastes." You can check out the song, which premiered at No Clean Singing, below.
The EP is the sixth studio record from the band, and the first in six years. It boasts increased technicality and a new direction with the sound. The band shares their thoughts on the release:
"This is a song that we worked on pretty recently. We previously had a skeleton for this song, but it went into a major facelift. We introduced progressive metal breakdowns with guitar-tapping melodies, and even a catchy piano melody to create a very enjoyable, yet technical layer on the song’s melodic breakdown. All of that mixed with a solid chorus."
As if it was not enough, some brutal old-school death metal-sounding riffs were introduced, and mixed with some heavy symphonic elements, creating an intricate-sounding end to the song. "Bane of the Underworld" is a song about warriors sending their foes to their end. Thus being sent to the underworld.
"Tales From The Frozen Wastes" will be released on November 15th. More...
Cemetery Skyline Shares New Visualizer Video
Cemeteries aren‘t places for the dead. They are meant for the living to mourn, remember and celebrate the people who are no longer with us and walking our earthly premises. It‘s places where you can hear stories from a long gone past whispered from dusty cracks in weathered stone surfaces. It‘s where and "When Silence Speaks" if you listen carefully.
In order to further immortalize their debut album, "Nordic Gothic," out now, Brendan McGowan captured a couple dancing before the cemetery skyline - literally. It is an anthem for the ones suffering through heartbreak, the ones feeling lost and alone – an ode to celebrate life and love in solitary and you can check out the clip below. More...

Burn Down Eden Releases New Music Video
Germany tech-death metallers Burn Down Eden have released their third single, "Tears of Persephone," taken from forthcoming EP, "Epiphany," set for release 6th December via Seek & Strike. You can check out the video below. This is the successor to their "Dismal" EP, which was released earlier this year.
Burn Down Eden states: "'Tears of Persephone' is a renarration from Greek mythology. It tells the story of the kidnapping of fertility goddess Persephone by Hades into the underworld from her perspective. Hades fell in love with Persephone, stole her and married her against her will. As a consequence, she had to spend the rest of her life in the underworld. Her mother Demeter started searching for her and after some minor setbacks, she finally understood what was going on. Out of pure rage, she started to burn all plants and threatened to destroy the human race. Hades released Persephone thereupon, but gave her something to eat as a goodbye gift. Unfortunately, Persephone ran into an ambush since the food bound her to the underworld. From then on, she had to return to the underworld for some months of the year and every time she did, nothing would grow on planet earth until she came back. So, this myth explains why we have seasons, but from a modern perspective you can also use this myth as a parable for forced marriages.
"The music and video supplements all that and shows Demeter's search for Persephone until she finally finds her in Hades. Well, we bend the truth a little bit here, since Demeter is played by Pether. However, the mood from walking through corn fields, climbing mountains and finally making it to the underworld shines through. The three-four time is the base for all the melodies and harmonies that gives the song a very sad feeling. Listening to the chorus, you can really feel Persephone's pain.
"As a band we usually go full throttle with high tempo and technical song writing. But with 'Tears of Persephone' we show that heavy and feeling can be a nice combination." More...

Dead Icarus Debuts "1 Million Days" Video
Dead Icarus, the new project of former Atreyu lead vocalist and Gold-selling artist Alex Varkatzas, as well as Gabe Mangold of Enterprise Earth and Brandon Zackey, have released a new single "1 Million Days." The single is inspired by classic '80s horror films, so it arrives just in time for the creepy season. You can check it out below. "1 Million Days" is taken from their debut album, Zealot, out 31st October via MNRK Heavy.
"'1 Million Days' is as close as Dead Icarus gets to a power ballad on Zealot," explains Varkatzas. "When I first started writing the lyrics, I thought it was about failing someone else and seeking their forgiveness. As I finished the lyrics, it became more first person and about letting one's self down and forgiving one's self for mistakes made. Sometimes, the weight we bear is placed upon our own shoulders by ourselves and only we can remove it.
"The video is sort of a tongue-in-cheek homage to late '80s horror, filmed inside a haunted house that is housed inside a haunted building from the 1800s." More...
