My Darkest Hate Reveals New Album Details
German death metal veterans My Darkest Hate are back! The band will unleash their long-awaited sixth studio album "Rust And Bones" on November 7, 2025 via Massacre Records. The record will be available as a limited edition Mediabook CD and gatefold vinyl LP.
As a first taste of the upcoming album, My Darkest Hate has released the brand new single and official video "Rust" today. The track is a fierce opener and sets the tone for what promises to be one of the band’s most crushing records to date. You can check out the song below.
Produced together with Andy Classen (Krisiun, Destruction, Legion Of The Damned), the album offers 10 tracks that perfectly reflect the band’s trademark old-school death metal sound while pushing it to new extremes. The artwork, created by Remy Cooper (Headsplit Design / Napalm Death, Kreator), visually captures the raw energy of the music.
Special guest contributions include Dave Ingram (Benediction, ex-Bolt Thrower) on "He Who Never Sleeps" and TZ (Pessimist, Muggeseggel) on "Flammenland" — the first German-language track in the band’s history. More...
Angus McSix Shares New Single "The Fire Of Yore"
Rising from the aftermath of many heroic battles is the great Angus McSix! Now, following Angus’ brother, Adam McSix, stepping forth as their main character, the power metal supergroup is thrilled to announce the release of their new album on March 13, 2026 via Napalm Records.
Along with the announcement, Angus McSix offers a new single! "The Fire Of Yore" bridges the gap between Manowar, Modern Talking, and Electric Callboy and features a legend of the German entertainment industry. Actor and musician Uwe Ochsenknecht (“Das Boot”, 1981) is featured in the accompanying official video! In Angus McSix’s universe, he takes on the role of the mighty King, father to both previous singer Angus McSix and current hero Adam McSix.
The true metal hymn conveys Adam and his father discussing Angus’ cruel fate—and how to save the legendary hero from the ice block prison in which his nemesis, the Archdemon Seebulon, trapped him. The answer: METAL! Since Angus is also revealed to have no memory of his previous adventures due to a long fever, “The Fire Of Yore” cleverly introduces new lore to the ever-expanding Angus McSix universe.
Luckily, Adam gains additional help on his brave journey to rescue his brother, at the hands of The Dwarf, the band’s new guitarist, introduced with this single. Behind the new character is none other than Jasmin Pabst, guitar influencer and stage heroine. More...
Equilibrium To Release New Album In November
Cinematic, folk-metal trailblazers Equilibrium are thrilled to announce that their new studio album, "Equinox," will be released on November 28th via Nuclear Blast Records. Today they've also released firey new single "I'll Be Thunder" accompanied by a raw, earthy performance video.
Equilibrium commented:
"'I'll Be Thunder' is a very impulsive song that shows the experimental and uncompromising side of Equilibrium. Therefore we tried to emphasise this with a unique, archaic performance video. The whole visual concept, set design and costumes have been hand crafted by Jessica Rösch again. I love this song, because while the notes of it came intuitively to my mind, the lyrics are about self-empowerment, breaking free from limitations, and embracing one’s true strength and authenticity.
"It is also the perfect moment to announce our upcoming album 'Equinox,' which is all about authenticity, reconnection with and rediscovering our own art. It took a long time to go through this process since a lot has happened throughout the last few years in the history of Equilibrium. It represents the bright and dark side of our music and we can't wait to share the whole thing with the world and enlighten this new chapter. The album contains all the cinematic, folky, harsh and soft elements an Equilibrium album should have." More...
InnerWish Releases New Standalone Single
InnerWish's "Defend Our Children’s Hope" is a powerful tribute to the next generation, urging us all to take responsibility for their future and defend their right to hope and opportunity. With their signature blend of driving riffs, soaring melodies, and anthemic choruses, InnerWish delivers both a poignant message and a timeless heavy metal hymn.
The single is accompanied by a stirring lyric video that underscores its urgency. With lines like “We fall and then we rise / It’s the battle for a new dawn / We conquer not divide / Protect, defend our children’s hope,” the song speaks directly to today’s world of division and uncertainty. At its core, it’s a call for unity, resilience, and compassion, a reminder that safeguarding a better future is a responsibility we all share. You can check out the lyric video below.
Reflecting on the song’s origins, InnerWish share:
"To be or not to be in the album? That is the question! For sure a question we asked ourselves a lot because having 15 songs makes you keep some of them out of the album. And it’s not a matter of being a lesser song, especially in this case, but it’s just the way it is sometimes. No matter what, this song has all the classical InnerWish elements, the ones that lasted all these years. Groove, melodies and hook-y chorus. We talked about children on “Sea of lies” and we do it here as well. Different writer, different perspective and impression. Again, for the children. They are the hope of mankind, they are our hope, they deserve way more. After all, this world isn’t their fault but ours." More...

Cult of Fire - An Intimate Album Release Ritual
After what seemed like an eternity waiting for Cult of Fire’s album release show (The original date was scheduled for May), Cult of Fire ceremoniously introduced their latest album, “The One, Who is Made of Smoke,” to their hometown crowd in Prague, Czech Republic. I was one of the lucky patrons that witnessed the ritualistic black metal event and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I left the venue that night looping memories of the show over and over like some sort of black metal glitch in the matrix.
When I arrived at the Lucerna Music Bar in the heart of Old Town Prague, there weren’t a lot of people milling about outside but that was probably because I arrived an hour early. Stateside, it’s normal to show up an hour or so early to meet up with your friends, check out the merch, grab some adult beverages and find a good spot to watch the bands from. Here in Prague, things are much more lax. What I’ve noticed is that if you show up fifteen minutes early, you’ll be OK most of the time. No one is in a hurry here and it’s a welcomed change of pace.
I noticed that there was just one other person at the merch table so I was able to grab a copy of latest album on vinyl without having to wait in line forever. There also wasn’t a mile long line at the bar, so I ordered a pint of Pilsner and then headed to the front of the stage where there were only just a handful of people already there. There was a giant black cloth (think shower curtain) draped across the front of the entire stage, but it was transparent enough to see that there were a lot of stage props behind it. This was definitely going to be an epic night.
While I waited for the cloth to be pulled back, dozens of people had arrived and started to fill in the floor in front of the stage and I was happy that my Stateside concert habits die hard. A little past 8:00 p.m. (Concerts start and end earlier here and I love it!), the curtain was drawn and it revealed an incredibly detailed and jaw dropping stage setup.
Everywhere you looked there were artifacts of Hindu and Buddhist deities, lit candles in candelabras, burning incense, bouquets of flowers and offerings of fruit. I don’t know how long it takes to set something like this up, but it has to be a few hours. The four members of Cult of Fire were already in their respective spots on stage and their costuming was just as impressive. I’ll dive more into that later on.
This is my third time seeing Cult of Fire live and it’s been different each time. The first two times I saw them at Brutal Assault, a popular metal festival that takes place in the Czech Republic every August. The first time I saw them, they used a ton of pyro techniques (think fire!) and the second time, they played along with a full symphonic orchestra. Tonight’s show was intimate making it special in its own way. There was limited floor space in the Lucerna Music Bar and if you were lucky enough to have a ticket, you were treated to a live spectacle that the majority of bands won’t go the distance that Cult of Fire does to treat their fans.

Down
Mighty, sabbathesque riffs, covered in slime from the New Orleans swamps; poser-repellent, primitive, sludge drive; the sweet trance of stoner metal and this voice! Down will come to Mystic Festival to melt your black hearts and the steel dockside cranes with their music. A supergroup that has earned the moniker not just with their stellar line-up – Phil Anselmo (Pantera), Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity), Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), Jimmy Bower (Crowbar, Eyehategod), and Pat Bruders (Goatwhore) – but, first and foremost, with their music. It doesn’t really get better than this in this neck of the woods. And since Down teased that they’re working on new material recently, we can hope for entirely new music to pair the classics from their repertoire.
Ice Nine Kills
Their two live albums are entitled I Heard They Kill Live – with the second instalment being released in the middle of this year – and it’s hard not to appreciate that title’s double meaning. On one level, it highlights the fascination of the Boston band with horror, slashers and classic gore films; on another – that’s the truth itself of what Ice Nine Kills concerts are like, they take no prisoners live! They formed a quarter of a century ago and since then, have been perfecting their formula, relying on the marriage of horror-laden lyrics with a thrilling form composed of melodic metalcore, the intensity of hardcore and anthem-like, heavy metal choruses. Prepare for the American bogeys in the centre of Gdansk.
Evergrey
The Swedes’ latest record, released in 2024, is entitled Theories of Emptiness, but Evergrey are proficient in more than just theory. For over three decades now, they’ve been making music that, on the one hand, is technically advanced and that marries under the vast category of progressive metal the influences of both the sublime of power metal and the sombre of gothic metal. On the other hand, however, it draws from the simplest yet the most powerful emotions. Evergrey dives into the deep end of sorrow, only to emerge seconds later, carried high on the wings of their passion – it is this versatility that makes Tom S. Englund’s band stand out not only on the Swedish scene.
Martyrdöd
Come in closer and your body won’t soon forget this gig. Don’t let your guard down though, for Martyrdöd strikes hard and without warning. The band composed of veterans of the Swedish scene has skilfully been merging crust punk with black metal for a quarter of a century now. With every drum kick, with every razor-sharp riff, Martyrdöd proves that rage has only one name.
