Tokyo Blade Completes Recording New Album
Having completed their new album, Tokyo Blade has issued the following update about it:
"The album is now finished and will be mixed in approx 3 weeks. We are treating it as the 3rd album or the 3rd album that should have been so to speak. We view it as the natural follow up to NOTB as the songs hark back to the glory days of NWOBHM."
"We have deliberately recorded the whole thing in a very live manner in just over a week (real time) as albums were recorded then. No keyboards no bullshit just 100% heavy metal helped considerably by the talent of our new vocalist Nicolaj and classic heavy metal producer Chris Tsangarides as you know. The title will most likely be '1000 men strong.'"
Gwar To Appear On "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"
Having just appeared on a few different programs yesterday, GWAR is now set to appear on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on October 28th, playing "Zombie's March!," the first single from their new album "Bloody Pit of Horror," out November 9th on Metal Blade Records.
The announcement follows lead singer's Oderus Urungus latest appearance on FOX News "Red Eye," which was described as a "complete cock-up," as he managed to botch just about every date he was suppose to plug.
"Well, it was my 13th time on the show-something bad was bound to happen," said the hapless super-boob. "The correct dates are up somewhere! And I totally forgot to mention that we will be offering the entire human race the chance to see our Halloween show in Milwaukee, via the Internet...that's right a pay per view first hand worldwide ringside seat to our sickest show of the year, and for a reasonable price as well."
Look for more details soon on GWAR.net.
Earlier this week Bloody-Disgusting.com premiered the first single from "Bloody Pit of Horror" "Zombies March!" Check it out here.

Immolation Comments On Canceled Show
Immolation has issued the following statement regarding the band's recently canceled show at Crazy Donkey:
"Unfortunately the show at Crazy Donkey had to be canceled due to the extreme weather expected in Farmingdale. Local authorities advised the club to stay closed as they were expecting extreme weather conditions throughout the night. We were all at the club for about 3 hours waiting to see if the show was going to happen or not. We found out at about 5:30 that it was definitely off.
"Ourselves and Vader, as well as the rest of the bands on the tour, were all ready to play and looking forward to the show. We all appreciate the support of the fans and appreciate everyone's effort to make it out to the club. The cancellation turned out to be so last minute that it was very difficult to get much word out. Thanks again for all the support and we look forward to playing in our hometown area of NY again very soon!"
To/Die/For Issues Band Update
Finland's To/Die/For has issued the following update about the band's upcoming activity:
"Time between Wounds Wide Open and 2010 is been too long time without doing 'nothing' with To/Die/For. We tried to create it with Tonmi Lillman and we used one year but things did not go forward as it should go. Tonmi is very great drummer and recorder and musician, but he is having so much other things to do also. TDF is thing I wanna do with all of heart and that's why I decided to be free, and do it without Tonmi again. It is sad but I have my life too and I cannot just wait and wait all the time. Of course there is other reasons too but nothing personal problems. I love him as a friend always.
"So...I saw two possibilities! Trying to it with Tonmi it would take too long and album would not come before 2020, or do it sooner with guys who are living more near me, rehearsings would be easier etc. etc. many reasons. Now in 5th October we finally start to record sixth TDF album with Santtu Lonka, Juppe Sutela, Josey Strandman. Now I am praying that also Antza Talala and Juska 'zoltan' Salminen would join us permanently too. Anyway, with this line up we will play next show which is like a new beginning (AGAIN) for us! TDF is like a Phoenix bird :) More...

New Metal Tracks Headed To The Rock Band Network
It's a slow metal week for the Rock Band Network on the Xbox 360, with only a single new track titled "Discharge" being added by industrial act Intricate Unit, so you Xbox fans may want to load up some old favorites instead to rock out over the weekend. (Humorous side note at the expense of this particular editor - never Google the word "discharge" with the safe search feature turned off.) On October 5th the PS3 sees more Evile, Amberian Dawn, and Asking Alexandria, while the Wii will get a dose of Skeletonwitch. The complete list of newly added Rock Band Network songs, including the non-metal tracks, is as follows:

"If anyone can deliver Catalyst vocals properly, it is without a doubt Matt McGachy, I suggest you check out these performances with The Catalyst as they will be as powerful and heavy as always! We would like to thank Matt McGachy for filling this spot so we did not have to cancel our upcoming shows in the fall. The Catalyst will be back to it's original lineup come early winter."

This leaves a vacancy in the lyrical department. Job applications can be send to info[at]conteched[dot]com."

In Virtue Issues Recording Update
California power metal band In Virtue has issued the following update about recording new material:
"Well ladies and gentlenerds, we are elbow deep in it now. We began the process of recording our debut full-length album in February of this year with the drums. We spent 2 days at the renowned Prairie Sun recording studios in Cotati, CA, which has hosted such bands as Tom Waits, Primus, Marty Friedman, just about every Shrapnel Records shredder and none other than sir Paul McCartney (see the list here). We recorded in their studio B room which features a console formerly owned by Pete Townsend of the Who, used to record their legendary album Quadrophenia. Over the course of 2 action packed days we laid down all the basic drum tracks and drained enough Mountain Dew to kill a bull elephant at twenty paces.
"From there things got a bit tedious, lots of editing, pondering, more editing, then finally, guitars! We're using a process known as re-amping, in which I record all the dry guitar tracks direct at my home studio, then at a later date we can send them through an amp. This leads to infinite tweaking possibilities and saves us mucho dinero since I can spend all the time I need to perfecting the performances at home, without being stuck with one guitar tone. This naturally leads to a kind of perfectionism, since I can spend basically as long as I want on it until it's flawless, but will also lead to a far better end product. More...
