Unearthing The Metal Underground: Gnipahålan
Gnipahålan is a Swedish translation for Gnipahellir, the name of a mystical cave in Norse mythology. The moniker perfectly suits the Swedish black metal project that oozes with mystery and an unmistakable spiritual element. Aside from the drum work, Gnipahålan is the brainchild of Swartadauþuz, who runs Ancient Records and Mysticism Productions, in addition to having performed with nearly a couple dozens bands. German label Purity Through Fire Records released the act’s second full-length, “I Nordisk Vredeslusta,” today on CD with a vinyl release slated for next year. More...

Woods Of Desolation Premiere New Single
Atmospheric black metal unit Woods Of Desolation - led by vocalist D. and drummer and keyboardist Vlad (Drudkh, Windswept) - has inked a record deal with Season Of Mist. Today they premiere the title track to their new effort named "The Falling Tide", streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you below. The new album will be out in stores on December 9th, 2022.
The Black Dahlia Murder: New Lineup Announced
Michigan’s melodic death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder announce that they will be continuing with guitarist Brian Eschbach as their new frontman. Guitarist Ryan Knight who has since rejoined the group will take over Eschbach‘s previous duties.
Additionally the outfit have announced a tribute show to their late vocalist Trevor Strnad. That concert is planned to take place on October 28th, 2022 at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit, MI. Darkest Hour and Plague Years will be joining as opening acts.

Lorna Shore Premiere New Single & Music Video
Deathcore mainstays Lorna Shore premiere their new single and music video named “Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames“. The clip was directed by David Brodsky (Revocation, Killswitch Engage).
The song and clip is part of a trilogy that will be featured on the group’s upcoming new studio full-length titled “Pain Remains“. That trilogy itself furthermore consists of the tracks, “Pain Remains II: After All I’ve Done, I’ll Disappear” and “Pain Remains III: Sea Of Fire“.
