Crypta Shares "A Portrait Of Decay" Music Video

World-renowned Brazilian death metal force Crypta enter a new era with "A Portrait Of Decay," the first track to showcase the band’s new line-up and offer a glimpse into what fans can expect from their future sound.

After announcing Victoria Villarreal as their new permanent guitarist in April this year, completing the four-piece lineup alongside Fernanda Lira (bass, vocals), Luana Dametto (drums), and Tainá Bergamaschi (guitar), the band now unleash this brand-new track, building anticipation for Crypta's next chapter.

"A Portrait Of Decay" hits like an aggressive death metal steamroller while exploring dissociation as a means of enduring pain and suffering. The track was recorded in Belgium in June this year and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Yarne Heylen at Project Zero Studio. The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Marcos Miller.

All of this is brought to life by an intensely aggressive yet atmospheric and melancholic instrumental attack, paired with the spine-tingling vocals of Fernanda Lira, one of the most outstanding artists in today’s extreme metal scene.

The track arrives just in time for Crypta to kick off their North American tour with Arch Enemy, The Black Dahlia Murder, Septicflesh, and Thrown Into Exile, beginning on 5th October.

!A Portrait Of Decay" is accompanied by an official music video that, at first glance, may seem distinctive compared to the song’s sonic intensity. The script for the video was written by Crypta's drummer Luana Dametto. You can check it out below.

Drummer Luana states: "The video clip is both an almost poetic contrast to the harsh death metal sound but also a cinematic depiction of the lyrics: An ethereal and almost dream-like landscape that represents someone's true state of being, clear thoughts and light emotions, that slowly dissipate with the passing of time and changing of surroundings, and with the night and a much darker environment, after a while, feelings of being adrift and astray arise, showing that our conditions and time can directly change the way we see ourselves and the way we feel and interact." Today, Belgian razorgrind band Leng Tch’e are releasing their first single in nearly a decade. "Hammered into Collapse" sets the tone for their upcoming two-song EP, which includes another new song in "Voided." You can check out a video for the title track below. ATER Unveil Music Video For New Single "Sleep"

Dark metal ensemble ATER present "Sleep," a haunting and heavy romantic ballad. The new single goes beyond ATER's exploration of shadowy brutality, revealing a softer side and a more emotional arrangement. "Sleep" is the first taste of the band's upcoming full length offering, Everlasting. The album is scheduled to arrive on January 29, 2027, via Torque Records.

ATER’s frontman Fernando Bühring comments: "This is a very different release for us, and I’m sure most of our listeners will be surprised. I have been exploring and expanding the musical boundaries of ATER, and this song is an expression of that. Freedom. Freedom to express myself. We shot the music video with a small team and it was directed by our drummer Vincent Zbinden. ‘Sleep’ is a very personal song and if you asked me months ago, I would never write something like that. But I did, and it represents well this new facet of sound we developed recently creating this new album."
