Ex-Every Time I Die Guitarist Andy Williams Passes Away Following Wrestling Match
Following a match at an Enjoy Wrestling show in Pennsylvania last night (September 5th,) Andy Williams, AKA The Butcher, collapsed in the ring. The show was immediately cancelled as paramedics performed chest compressions and used a defibrillator. Unfortunately, Fightful Select has now confirmed an earlier TMZ report that the wrestler and musician has now died at the age of forty-eight.
Williams lived a colourful life, achieving fame in two different avenues. For metal fans, he will be best known as the rhythm guitarist for metalcore favourites Every Time I Die, joining shortly after the band was formed by the Buckley brothers in 1998. He remained with the band until their breakup in 2022, during which time he performed on nine studio albums, two EPs and two DVDs.
In November 2019, he achieved a new level of attention, debuting on All Elite Wrestling's flagship show, Dynamite. Alongside his partner The Blade and their valet The Bunny (AKA Allie,) he would be featured in a number of angles with stars like Cody Rhodes, Diamond Dallas Page, the Lucha Brothers and Eddie Kingston. The team's contracts with the company expired in June of this year, and they continued to tag together on the independent scene, including for his final match.
