The band has sold over 150,000 albums worldwide and have influenced countless number of bands in the metal and hardcore scene today. Scottish death metal act Cerebral Bore has announced a number of headlining shows in Spain, starting on May 7th in Barcelona.
The band will be playing five shows during what will be its first visit to Spain, with support from French death metallers Psychobolia. The tour kicks off a week after Cerebral Bore wraps up a mini European tour with Despised Icon.
Cerebral Bore guitarist Paul McGuire comments: "We are happy to say that we are heading to Spain for the first time. For some reason any offer we have ever had to go there hasn't quite worked out, so it will be great to play somewhere new straight after the Despised Icon tour. But it looks like we will be in Europe for a few spare days inbetween… So maybe you will see us added to a particularly awesome show taking place that week too!" More...

To our friends in Canada and the US, we’ll have some good news for you as well in a few weeks. Thanks for sticking around with us after all these years. Despised Icon has issued the following update:
"It’s been a while already since we made THE announcement and I know some of you are probably saying 'WTF, these guys still aren’t done yet?!' hahah Well, instead of canceling the tours we had in the works at the time, we figured it’d be a good opportunity to play in our favourite cities, tour in a few countries we had never visited before and rock out with you guys for the last time."
"After touring in 24 countries in the last 6 months, we’re finally back home and getting ready to play our last Quebec and Ontario shows next week. This final world tour was simply amazing and since this is the last time we check-in with you guys, I just want to sincerely thank you all once again for all your help and support. We’ve had some good fucking times together!"
"For those who were planning on coming to our final Montreal shows, we have a few surprises for you. The original Despised Icon line-up (2002-2006) will make its appearance and play a few songs from the first 2 albums! We're also happy to announce that our brothers in Ion Dissonance and Beneath The Massacre will be supporting their new records for the first time at home and ABACABB will also be playing one of their last shows ever with us. Our homies in The Acacia Strain, Oceano and Mychildren Mybride will also be part of the event. It's gonna be epic. Bandeapart.ca will film and host the entire last set on their website for free so make sure you demonstrate how we do things in MTL! See you soon!" More...

Despised Icon has decided to break up. The band has issued the following statement on their decision:
"The time has come for us to move on. Some of us have recently reached a new chapter in their lives, starting families, buying houses and pursuing other careers to make it all happen. Writing music, touring and leaving home for months at a time is slowly becoming impossible because of that. We all decided that it’d be best to pull the plug now and end things right."
"It’s hard to believe we started this band almost 10 years ago already. At first, Despised Icon was mostly just an excuse to hang out, write brutal slam riffs and play local shows once in a while. With your support, we got the opportunity to actually play music for a living, make friends around the world, be MVPs and travel to places we never even dreamed of visiting in our lifetime. Thank you all for some of the best times of our lives." More...
