Canadian deathcore mainstays Despised Icon have unleashed “The Apparition,” the third single from their upcoming seventh studio album, Shadow Work, arriving this Halloween (October 31st). The new track lands alongside a Simon Marchand-directed music video (going live today at 10 am EDT), both of which now available for streaming via YouTubeand Spotify for you below.
The album boasts an impressive lineup of guests: Matt Honeycutt of Kublai Khan TX appears on the previously released “Over My Dead Body,” while Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin) and Scott Ian Lewis (Carnifex) lend their voices to “Reaper.” Meanwhile, “In Memoriam” features the distinctive touch of Misstiq.
Adding to the intensity, a gang vocal choir composed of members from Ion Dissonance, Beneath The Massacre, and Scorching Tomb also appears on the record.
Despised Icon will soon hit the road on their first headlining tour in support of Shadow Work, joined by Sanguisugabogg, Defeated Sanity, and Corpse Pile.
