Intense Hammer Rage Plead Guilty
The three members of Tasmanian grindcore band Intense Hammer Rage have pleaded guilty and been fined for importing a prohibited product, their latest CD, into Australia, according to ABC Online.
The three pleaded guilty to importing a prohibited product into Australia in April 2001. Customs officers seized 207 copies of their CD "Avagoyamugs", believing it contained offensive lyrics that would be considered revolting and against common standards.
The CD had been produced in the U.S. by record company Razorback Records.
Defense counsel Tamara Jago told magistrate Tim Hill that the CD can be bought over the counter in the U.S., where censorship laws are not as restrictive as those in Australia. Jago said that because customs has held the CDs, none of the men have profited from the importation. The magistrate ordered the CDs be forfeited and the three men were fined AUS $500 each.

Blind Guardian Fine Replacement Drummer
Blind Guardian will once again be utilizing the services of Rhapsody drummer Alex Holzwarth for their upcoming tour due to a tendon infection suffered by regular BG skinsman Thomas Stauch.
"Unfortunately Thomen seems to have got the same problems with the nerves in his hand like he had before our South American tour last year," Blind Guardian guitarist Marcus Siepen writes on the band's official web site. "He can't put any pressure on it without incurring big pains and therefore he is not able to play live with us in the moment. He is in medical treatment and we hope he will be back in business as soon as possible. In the meantime Alex Holzwarth will help us out so all the scheduled gigs will definitely be played!" More...
