Cage Confirmed For Six Pack Weekend
CAGE are the latest band to be confimed to the 1st ever BRAVE WORDS AND BLOODY KNUCKLES magazine (Canada) SIX PACK WEEKEND festival to be held on June 13-14, 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio. Other confirmed bands on the festival line-up are: Trouble, Nevermore, Jag Panzer, Hypocrisy, Elegy, Wolf, Kataklysm, Beyond The Embrace and Evergrey. More bands are to be confirmed.
Halford Drummer Does Video, Japan Tour
Drummer BOBBY JARZONBECK, best known for his work with HALFORD, RIOT, and Spastic Ink, has just released his first ever drum video. 'Performance & Technique' spotlights Bobby's unique approach to drumming and features 2 free form solos, footage of a Riot-era drum solo performed live in Japan, and full-length performances of 'Peppered Cancer' and 'School', two new songs co-written and recorded with brother Ron Jarzombek (Spastic Ink, WatchTower) on guitar. After a lengthy layoff, Jarzombek is now back in full Halford mode with the band's 10-day tour of Japan in support of 'Crucible' and the just released 'Fourging The Furnace' EP set to get under way February 11 in Tokyo. Also on the horizon are 2 more US shows on February 28 and March 1 at L'Amour's in Brooklyn, New York with Symphony X opening up. A full-fledged Halford tour under the '2003 Metal Gods World Tour' banner is tentatively scheduled to kick off in the spring.
Darkseed Near Completion
The new album of Darkseed is almost finished and scheduled for an April 28th release through Massacre. The title of the album is Astral Adventures.
Sinister currently in the Studio
Sinister are currently in the studio recording their new studio album, titled Savage Or Grace? The album is being recorded at Excess Studios in Rotterdam and is scheduled for a May release through Nuclear Blast.
Stormhammer Lose Drummer
There have been some recent line up changes for Stormhammer. Their drummer, Django, has left the band. There has been no announcement on a replacement as of yet.
Incantation Set McEntee as Vocalist
Incantation has announced that John McEntee has taken over vocal duties. According to their website: “John did a fantastic job on the Mexico dates, and he will continue to do the vocals for Incantation until the bands end. His style is in the brutal, blasphemous vein that people have come to identify with Incantation’s original style of death metal. With John being the founding member of the band, it is with certainty that with this decision, Incantation has found their permanent frontman. Incantation also is proud to announce the addition of Lou Lombardozzi on lead guitar which completes the lineup that also includes drummer Kyle Severn and bassist Joey Lombard."
The band also revealed that the Brazilian Pressing of their Blasphemy CD (on Moria Records) will come with a second insert with all the lyrics and credits in translated Portuguese.
Arch Enemy Studio Update
Arch Enemy’s Michael Amott has issued the following studio update: “Hello all you curious people out there. Sorry for the silence - we’ve just been busy working in our rehearsal room!
We've been working really hard on breaking Andy Sneaps' spirit! (not too far from the truth actually! Angela got him really high on space cookies one night - a life altering experience. Andy says it really opened his mind and we were all inside the songs that night. ehhhh-yeahh!).
Well, we got a bunch of really great tunes in the can now - all demoed w/vocals and solos and everything - sounds killer! Now we go to the UK and start recording the REAL thing - lotsa hard work ahead... but it's gonna be fun! More...
Hate Eternal Begin Recording Video
Hate Eternal are at work on their first video, for the song ‘Powers That Be’, off their new album King Of All Kings. With director Kevin Leonard at the helm, the band began shooting on February 1st in their hometown of Tampa, Florida. Hate Eternal embark on their first headlining tour, with Dying Fetus, Kataklysm and Into Eternity, on February 14th.
Deepred to Record Split EP with Loathing
Finland's Deepred will release a split-CD with France's Loathing through Several Bleeds Records in March. Deepred's contribution will include all three news studio tracks from the band's "Promo 2002" CD, plus two live cuts recorded at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland in November 2002.
Entombed to Embark on South African Tour
Sweden's Enotmbed will embark on a South African tour in early May. Exact dates and venues will be announced soon.

Night in Gales Announce New Drummer
Germany's Night in Gales have recruited drummer Adriano Ricci (Blood Red Angel, Torture Chamber) as a replacement for Christian Bass, who announced his amicable departure from the group in September in order to pursue other musical projects. "We're just about rehearsing on a regular basis again and will record a promo as soon as possible," the band write on their official web site.
Iron Maiden go Surround Sound
Iron Maiden are set to mix their forthcoming album in 5.1 surround sound as well as stereo, according to producer Kevin Shirley. "It will be a little different to the CD mix, so it should be fantastic!" he wrote on his web site. The as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2000's Brave New World is due in the summer.
Omnium Gatherum Land US Deal
Finland's Omnium Gatherum will issue their full-length debut, Spirits and August Light, through Nuclear Blast Records in the U.S. and Hellion Records in South America. The album, which was recorded and mixed at Sonic Pump studios by Nino Laurenne and mastered at Finnvox studios by Mika Jussila, is due in Europe on March 24 through England's Rage Of Achilles Records. In other news, Omnium Gatherum have just shot a video for the track "Writhen", with director Ville Salonen. The clip features new keyboardist Jukka Perälä (Manitou).
Meshuggah Announce Swedish Dates
Meshuggah have announced the following Swedish dates in March:

We are as usual real lazy and since we came home from the US tours we've been taking some time off to clear our heads.
