Contrarian Streaming "Need For Apathy"
Contrarian -- the otherworldly technical death metal subdivision fusing members of Nile, Sulaco, Mithras, Goemagot, Delirium Endeavor and others -- has divulged mind-numbing track "Need For Apathy" online. Offers Contrarian guitarist Jim Tasikas:
"This is the second track on 'Polemic.' This track is unique in that the majority of the song consists of meandering melody-style riffs that are harmonized in fifths -- which is uncommon within a genre that tends to prefer guitar harmonies in thirds -- along with a reoccurring 'open' string motif to add atmosphere.
"The song features two blistering yet contrasting side-by-side solos by both Brian Mason and Leon Macey. The guitar melodies aren't the only meandering in this song; pay close attention to how bassist Ed Paulsen cleverly navigates alternate patterns and textures throughout. Also worth noting is how this might be the first time within this genre you will hear such aggressive guttural vocals over such intricate and refined melodies.
"Along with the music, the lyrics should give a pretty good idea of why and how this release is most definitely a contrarian's polemic of the avant-garde death metal kind."
New album "Polemic" will see release on CD and digitally via Willowtip Records on November 20, 2015. More...
Barús Signs With LADLO Productions
LADLO Productions just checked in with this announcement about inking a deal with French group Barús:
"We are proud to announce a new band in our roster: Barús The first EP will be released on January 29, 2016 via Emanations, a division of LADLO prods.
"Massive, crushing, raw, Barús channels emotions through technical music while delivering a complex and sincere death metal. Alternating stiffling atmospheres and controlled chaos, the band seamlessly interweaves heavyness and raging fury to create musical pieces during which each sonic evolution is a stone added to the Barús monument.
"Like a lead downpour summoned by imperious declamations and powerful, abysmal groans, the band's music besieges the listener's senses and takes on a new dimension through the four tracks of this EP." More...

Awe Premieres Entire Pre-Release Full-Album Stream
Greek black metal band Awe premieres its debut album "Providentia", a few days ahead of its official release, November 13th, via Pulverised Records. The album consists of three epic songs ranging from 15 to 20 minutes.
Describes Pulverised Records the concept of the album:
"Awe's debut, Providentia, is a transformative act in three parts about the total violent revolution of man in the face of an absurd, meaningless existence. A proclamation of unrelenting war against the very universe itself. To break every law that hinders the human condition, to conquer everything that is, or perish with it in the flames of the end."
