Download Festival Announces First Sixty Bands
The organisers of Britain's Download festival have announced the first sixty bands to play at the event's twentieth anniversary next year. Of note, Metallica will be performing two headlining sets, while the other headliners will be Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon. A statement from Metallica reads as follows:
"Open up the summer calendar as we’re super excited to announce that we’ll be celebrating the Download Festival’s 20th anniversary with not one, but two headline nights on June 8 and 10, 2023! It's been over a decade since we hit the stage in Donington Park, so we’ll be making up for lost time with two unique and completely different setlists with no repeat songs whatsoever that weekend.
"This year’s festival will take place over four days and we’re lucky enough to start the party on night one, June 8th. Hitting the stage as headliners the other two nights are Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon. The long weekend will be jam-packed including Evanescence, Parkway Drive, Disturbed, Pendulum, Architects, Ghost, The Distillers, Placebo, Alexisonfire, Asking Alexandria, Motionless In White, I Prevail, The Blackout (reunion), Fever 333, Stray From The Path, Lorna Shore, Nova Twins and Municipal Waste, with many more still to be announced.
"Fifth Members may purchase tickets now. General tickets are on-sale at 10 AM on Thursday, November 10th."

Over the past 2 years, we have been faced with many of these trials, and these struggles can be heard throughout the record.
"This record is a culmination of our greatest triumphs and our deepest struggles. We hope it resonates with you, and brings you closer to equilibrium.
"We'd like to thank guests Neema Askari (Form Subtract, ex Fellsilent, ex-Monuments), Spencer Sotelo (Periphery, King Mothership), and Mick Gordon (Doom, Prey, Killer Instinct) for enhancing the record with their unique perspectives." More...

Flux Conduct (Monuments Etc.) Premieres New Song
Monuments guitarist John Browne's Flux Conduct premieres a new song entitled "In Pursuit of Happiness", taken from the upcoming new album "Yetzer Hara", which will be out in stores April 03rd, 2017.
Says Browne of it: "We love to see successful people fail. We will cast our opinion of their work in all places that our voice will be heard. We will ridicule them from their work to their personal life. All positive deeds this person has done will be shunned and we will force them out to be the pariah. We do this to feel a glimpse of what they have achieved for the smallest amount of time, because the envy in our hearts takes over from reason."

Monuments Parts Ways With Drummer
Monuments is officially parting ways with drummer Anup Sastry. The band issued this statement online:
"Anup is stepping down from his position in Monuments. We've had a sick time and we're still good mates. This doesn't effect our touring schedule and all our summer festival shows will go ahead as planned. Huge shout out to Daniel Lang from Red Enemy for filling in on such short notice. First stop Grasspop!"
Anup also had this to say: "As much as I've enjoyed sharing the stage with the band, I’ve unfortunately decided to leave Monuments. Touring with the band just wasn’t for me. I had an absolute blast playing with the group live, and I’m leaving the band on good terms. I was able to see a lot of beautiful places and meet a lot of wonderful people while in the band, and I’m very appreciative and grateful for those experiences.
"This decision is very amicable, and I will surely miss hanging out with everyone. Unfortunately, Monuments just wasn’t for me. I wish the absolute best for Olly, Adam, John, and Chris. Monuments will continue to get on stage and rip it, and I wish the band the best of luck with their future endeavors. I’ll be staying busy with a few projects, which I'm excited to announce and share with everyone in the future.
"I want to thank everyone for all of the amazing and continued support. It really does mean a lot. With all of this being said, here’s my last Monuments play-through video. Enjoy!" More...
