Despised Icon has issued the following update:
"It’s been a while already since we made THE announcement and I know some of you are probably saying 'WTF, these guys still aren’t done yet?!' hahah Well, instead of canceling the tours we had in the works at the time, we figured it’d be a good opportunity to play in our favourite cities, tour in a few countries we had never visited before and rock out with you guys for the last time."
"After touring in 24 countries in the last 6 months, we’re finally back home and getting ready to play our last Quebec and Ontario shows next week. This final world tour was simply amazing and since this is the last time we check-in with you guys, I just want to sincerely thank you all once again for all your help and support. We’ve had some good fucking times together!"
"For those who were planning on coming to our final Montreal shows, we have a few surprises for you. The original Despised Icon line-up (2002-2006) will make its appearance and play a few songs from the first 2 albums! We're also happy to announce that our brothers in Ion Dissonance and Beneath The Massacre will be supporting their new records for the first time at home and ABACABB will also be playing one of their last shows ever with us. Our homies in The Acacia Strain, Oceano and Mychildren Mybride will also be part of the event. It's gonna be epic. Canadian deathcore act Ion Dissonance has announced that is has dropped off of the "Portals Tour" which features Arsonists Get All The Girls, Within The Ruins, And Hell Followed With and Structures. The band issued the following statement:
"We are truly sorry to announce that we have decided to drop off the Malus promoted “Portals” tour with our friends in AGATG, Within the ruins, And Hell Followed With and Structures. We don’t want to waste anybody’s time getting into the details of why exactly we have decided to drop off, so lets just say that a certain clothing company did not hold up their end of the promotion deal that was necessary for this tour, and that the shows we played were no where near what we had anticipated as a band.
We sincerly appologize to everyone who had planned on coming out to see us and watch us play, as well as all those of you who found out about the show the following day. For those concerned, be assured that internal problems within the band were not a factor in our decision to drop off. The band is doing quite well actually and monatary reasons are the major influence on our decision to go home.
We want to take a minute and give a shout out to everyone participating with the portals tour. Arsonists get all the girls, Within the ruins, And hell followed with, Structures and destruction of a rose. You guys are all great dudes and musicians and we miss you all (even Joel). Hopefully the news of our departure will help promote the remaining shows of the tour.
Take care and stay tuned for more on the situation.

The offering was tracked at .357 Productions with Ion guitar player, Antoine Lussier (who also produced Emmure's latest) at the production helm.
Kevin (vocals) comments, “We are now completely finished with the tracking process for our new album, Cursed. We only have a few more days of mixing left and we will be hitting up Wild Studios in the coming weeks to master our efforts and finally put an end to this horribly long and arduous recording process. We have been hacking away at this thing for the past three months and are down to our last few days. To see the light at the end of the tunnel and to hear what we have put together is motivating as Hell for us. We all had high hopes for this record and feel that we have undoubtedly delivered the goods.”

Vocalist Kevin states, “So we are currently wrapping up our third week in the studio. The drum tracks have been completed and we are now halfway through recording guitars. Everything is going a hell of a lot better than we could ever expect. As a result, we are all stoked beyond belief at how retarded these new tracks sound."
“Have you ever noticed that every band recording lately tends to release the exact same quote? ‘This recording is the best ever put out, and the songs are the best ever written, and blah blah blah.’ Well, we want to switch it up a little bit and mention that this recording will be what you make it out to be." KATAKLYSM has released the following statement in regards to this rather flattering victory:
“KATAKLYSM would like to thank the board of judges and all the people that voted for ‘Prevail’. It’s definitely an honor, especially since we were up against some great artists. What a great way to start our North American tour in a few days! We can’t wait to get out there and show the rest of the world what Quebec already knows; KATAKLYSM will ‘Prevail’!"
Those that were nominated this year included:

We're now working hard on the new material that will be recorded starting in April at Yannick's studio. We can't wait to enter the studio. We'll probably be posting video and blogs to let all you guys know what's going on in studio. Stay tuned."
