70000 Tons of Metal Announces More Bands for 2026
With just 3 months to set sail, 70000 Tons of Metal 2026 has announced all but 9 bands (out of a lineup of 60). The latest announcements (since our last post) include VBO, Ignea, Arkona, Paradise Lost, Cemetery Skyline, Royal Hunt, Illumishade, Tribulation, Kanonenfieber, Izegrim, Bloodred Hourglass, and Darkane. 70000 Tons of Metal sails from Miami, Florida to Nassau, the Bahamas on January 29 to February 2, 2026.
70000 Tons of Metal 2026 will host the first-ever live on-stage performance of VBO. Also known as Vice Business Only, VBO, a turbo-charged fusion of synthwave swagger and heavy rock heat, is a newly formed project from Francesco Cavalieri, best known as the lead vocalist of Italian Power Metal band WIND ROSE.
70000 Tons of Metal 2026 also features the first two shows of IZEGRIM as they reunite after a 6-year hiatus. The band’s two shows on board will not only mark their reunion but will also celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Biolytic Premiere New Single “Identity Fractures”

Biolytic, a rising force in the metal scene featuring current and former members of Allt, Alterbeast, Soreption, and more, continues to make waves. The band’s lineup includes Monte Barnard (Emberthrone, ex-Alterbeast) on vocals, Mikael Almgren (Terminal Function, ex-Soreption) handling guitars and bass, and Adam Bjork (Allt) on drums.
Their second single, produced by former Darkane vocalist Lawrence Mackrory, was released earlier this month and is now available for streaming below.
Darkane Premiere New Music Video "Awakening"

Darkane premiere a new official music video for their latest track “Awakening‘. The single is the second to arrive from their upcoming studio full-length “Inhuman Spirits“. That album has been scheduled for a June 24th release date by Massacre Records and will mark the group’s first release since 2013.

Darkane Posts New Music Video Online
Darkane will release their new studio album Inhuman Spirits on June 24 via Massacre Records. Today, the band release the "Inhuman Spirits" single and music video. Find the song on streaming platforms here, and watch the video below.
Says the band: "The title track represents almost everything that is Darkane: fast and intense metal, melodic chorus, different vocal styles, intricate riffing, pounding drums, cool rhythms and some classical orchestra elements. Darkane To Release New Album In June
Darkane are back - and they are going to release their long-awaited new studio album "Inhuman Spirits" on June 24, 2022 via Massacre Records.
It was mixed and mastered by Lawrence Mackrory at Rorysound Studios, and it is packed with intense, brutal, groovy and catchy melodic death/thrash metal!

Bent Sea (Megadeth) Premiere New Single

Bent Sea - the grind project led by drummer Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth) - premiere their new single “Wraithlike Horror“. Vocalist Lawrence Mackrory (F.K.Ü., Darkane), guitarist Todd Haug (Gravhaug, Powermad) and bassist Jesper Liveröd (ex-Nasum) join him on this new offering.
Eindhoven Announces More 2017 Bands
My Dying Bride, Ghaals Wyrd, Darkane, The Great Old Ones, Diabolical, Balfor, Mortal Strike, and Haunted have all been added to the line-up of Eindhoven Metal Meeting 2017.

Nemdis Releases Single Featuring Lawrence Mackrory
Nemdis has a new single out now titled "The Door to the Unknown" featuring a guest spot by Lawrence Mackrory of Darkane. The song can be heard below, and Nemdis comments:

"Here's the first video of Peter Wildoer official performing at the Meinl Drum Festival 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden. This video features James Labrie's song 'One More Time' from the 'Static Impulse' album. This was the first time Peter used his 22" Meinl Cymbals R&D (Research & Development) Ride Cymbal that they did especially for Peter."

Darkane Announces Tour With Soilwork
Swedish melodic death quintet Darkane has revealed a slew of European tour dates in early 2014, which will see the band perform alongside fellow countrymen Soilwork.
The tour will kick off in early March and lead the band to the UK’s Hammerfest VI festival. Prior to that, Darkane will join Dark Tranquility for three Swedish shows in December. Full dates can be found below.

Darkane Announces New Album Release
Sweden's thrash death metal 5-piece Darkane is going to release a brand new album this summer.
"The Sinister Supremacy" will be the band's sixth studio album and was recorded and produced by the band at the Darkane Studio. Daniel Bergstrand has mixed the album.
The new release is the first album since "Demonic Art," which was released in 2008. It's also the first album with Lawrence Mackrory on vocals since the band's debut album "Rusted Angel," released in 1999. Check out a brief clip from the studio at the band's Facebook profile here.
"The Sinister Supremacy" will be released in Europe via Massacre Records on June 28th, 2013. Stay tuned for further details.
