The 69 Eyes Announces Digital EP
Helsinki vampires The 69 Eyes, whose most recent album “X” was released last year, will release the digital “Love Runs Away” EP - including two previously unreleased bonus songs - via iTunes on February 1st, 2013. Pre-orders are available right here and the track listing is as follows:
1. Love Runs Away
2. Rosary Blue (feat. Kat Von D) (edit)
3. Dracula’s Castle
"Love Runs Away" - the third single and opening track of “X” that has by now already become a live favorite – carries pure rocking metal riffs and a chorus with a bulletproof hook line. Singer Jyrki69 comments: “This is the most obvious single track from the album and already works great on stage, so it’s about time to release it as a proper single!”
The larger than life ballad duet "Rosary Blue," on which Jyrki is accompanied by tattoo artist and “L.A. Ink” star Kat Von D, is the first of two never before heard bonus tracks. "We’ve known each other for some years and since Kat is also starting to make music, I thought it would be interesting to have her on board. The song is amazing and with her help, it turned out even more magical – it’s like our own Stairway to Heaven," states the front man. More...

The 69 Eyes Posts "Borderline" Video
Helsinki vampires The 69 Eyes recently shot a video for the single “Borderline” together with producer Patric Ullaeus over in New Orleans. The song comes off the band's most recent album, “X."
Lead singer Jyrki69 comments, “It’s like our 'Love Me Tender' – a soft, timeless ballad. But it also has that dark, mystic Southern vibe (some said 'True Blood'), so naturally we had to go to Louisiana to shoot the video! Mark Twain’s books, Elvis’ King Creole, Easy Rider, blues, jazz, voodoo, vampires - so many reasons for THE 69 EYES go to N’awlins. We’ve played there twice, I’ve also hosted two DJ club nights there called Fangtasia over the last two summers. The leading rock/metal video director of these latter days, Swedish Patric Ullaeus was also interested in coming to NOLA to make this masterpiece, so all was set for it! The mid-October was perfect for a long-lost weekend in the South."
The band's previously posted video for the track "Red" can also be viewed at this location. More...

The 69 Eyes Getting A New Graphic Novel
As Finnish gothic rock band, The 69 Eyes, prepares to release its tenth album "X," the band has also now announced an upcoming graphic novel. The 69 Eyes has issued the following press release:
"It is with great pleasure that gothic boutique publisher, Seraphemera Books & Music, dares to reveal a little bit more of the band’s history than many are aware...or might like to know... Pieced together from a secret story hidden in six of the band’s songs, and certainly confirmed from hints dropped in countless articles and quotes, we bring you the tale of the formation of The 69 Eyes that you would never find on Wikipedia or in the bio section of any record company’s website."
“When we released our first ever 7” single in 1990, it had a 4-page mini comic book enclosed,” commented lead vampire Jyrki69. “In that comic The 69 Eyes were represented as a vampire rock band, and the daughter of Van Helsing came to pay me a visit to the backstage - armed with a wooden stake! Now some two decades later we will finally have our own comic book. The song remains the same - according to a folklore we are real vampires. How else could we have played this long?"
Book 1 will be available this upcoming October, followed by a book being released each following month for two months.
Check out the trailer below, or head to the Seraphemera Books & Music website here for more information. More...

The 69 Eyes Detail Tenth Album "X"
Finnish vampire rockers The 69 Eyes announced that the bands tenth album will be entitled "X," and scheduled for release this September through Nuclear Blast Records. The first single entitled "Red" will be issued one month earlier.
The album was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden and was produced by the "On The Verge" production team with mixing done by Stefan Boman (Bullet).
Lead vampire Jyrki69 commented:
"We've never really celebrated anything, not that we've been playing 20 years or so (vampires don't count decades). Thus this time we thought to celebrate a bit: the new album is entitled as tenth in Roman numbers, it'll be called X.
"The sound is the most melodic, yet melancholic, we've ever had. Listening to the pre-mixes have been giving goose bumps to everyone here. This is the best 69 Eyes album ever done!" the singer states."
Simultaneously with the new album, the band will also launch their own vampire style red wine, also called "Red," which will mainly be distributed in Sweden and Finland.
The 69 Eyes Working On New Album
Finland's The 69 Eyes is currently hard at work on the band's tenth studio album in Stockholm, Sweden. The new album will reference the band’s trademark “goth’n’roll” sound best exemplified on the albums "Blessed Be" from 2000 and "Paris Kills" from 2002.
“The last album was recorded in Hollywood adding that special L.A. glam flavor to our sound,” states vocalist Jyrki Linnankivi (aka Jyrki69). “Now this time – as this album is our ‘Made in Sweden’ record – our melodic, Scandinavian melancholy side is rising to the top!”
The 69 Eyes has paired up with the Swedish production team On The Verge. The band’s new album will be released worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records this fall and is the follow-up to 2009’s "Back In Blood," which was produced by American Grammy Award-winning producer/engineer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Monster Magnet).
