Bam Margera has made it his mission to expose an entire generation of his peers to some original high-energy music through his VIVA LA BANDS album and tour series. Brought to you by Ferret Music and Filthy Note Records, VIVA LA BANDS, VOL. 2 will hit stores on September 4, 2007.
The CD features exclusive tracks, written and recorded for the CD/DVD combo from some of Bam’s favorite acts like CLUTCH, IN FLAMES, CKY, CHILDREN OF BODOM, VIKING SKULL and VAINS OF JENNA. A US-exclusive track from SHINY TOY GUNS and music from other faves like GWAR, THE SOUNDS, DIMMU BORGIR and KILL HANNAH also appears on the killer compilation. The full track listing for the 20-song album is displayed below.
Bam is as excited for the release as fans around the world will be… "I’m so fucking psyched that some of my favorite bands recorded exclusive songs this time around! Clutch and In Flames fucking rock and my brother Jess did a sick CKY remix. Obviously The Sounds are one of my favorite bands - my wife even insisted that they play our wedding. I also sent the first band I signed, Vains of Jenna, into the studio to record a new track for the record.”
The DVD component to this release contains almost an hour of never-before-seen Bam footage – a must-have for the ‘Jackass generation!’ Revealing what makes the DVD special, Bam adds “I’m finding some of my best, unused footage for the DVD. Everyone keeps asking me for a CKY5 but I think this DVD might be the closest thing to that!"
Viva La Bands’ companion tour will be taking out some of Bam’s favorite acts and is estimated to visit over 20 cities in the USA beginning in October 2007. Fans can also expect to see Bam and his friends at select shows.

Caroline Records' Finnish five piece, raucous rockers The 69 Eyes, are bringing even more material from their album, ANGELS, to the American masses. The band touched down in the USA with Cradle of Filth earlier this year, have dominated Europe and now are set to return to the states.
The 69 Eyes - Jyrki 69 (Vocals), Bazie (Guitar), Timo-Timo (Guitar), Archzie (Bass) and Jussi 69 (Drums) - also known as the Helsinki Vampires, infuse a gothic vibe and an edginess to some stunning Sunset Strip rock.
The 69 Eyes will be hitting the road with Wednesday 13, Night Kills The Day and Fair To Midland. The tour dates are as follows: More...
3 Inches of Blood's tour van broke down in Chicago and the band won't be making it to Denver for tonight's show. Cradle of Filth and The 69 Eyes will perform as expected, and 3IOB is expected to rejoin the tour in Edmonton, on Thursday, February 8th.
Chart Attack reports: Vancouver's 3 Inches Of Blood — currently on the road in support of fellow black metal behemoths Cradle Of Filth and Finnish glamsters The 69 Eyes — are clearly the black sheep of the tour.
"We feel like a bunch of dirt bags next to all of these goth people," jokes vocalist Jamie Hooper while navigating the wilds of Vermont in a van with a broken-down heater. "We have to up the quotient of PVC and eyeliner in the band... there are certainly a lot of leather pants on this tour."
Oddballs or not, 3 Inches Of Blood have received rave reviews nightly by pummelling the audience with a raging Judas Priest-meets-Slayer attack entirely unlike 69 Eyes and their H.I.M.-inspired low-key metal. Hooper and crew are still modestly shocked by the praise though.
"People come up to us and say that they just came to see us. It's flattering to hear people say that they spent all of this money on a ticket and then leave before Cradle Of Filth, but it proves we're doing something right."
Utilizing the tour as a means of introducing the world to tertiary effort Fire Up The Blades (Roadrunner), due out on May, 3 Inches are reinvigorated by a new lineup featuring guitarists Shane Clark and Justin Hagberg, bassist Nick Cates and drummer Alexei Rodriguez. Hooper and fellow longtime vocalist Cam Pipes are audibly excited about their input on the 10 songs that encompass Fire Up The Blades.
"We were nervous at first because all the musicians on the records are different from those on [2004's] Advance And Vanquish. We were wondering if we were gonna still sound like 3 Inches Of Blood. It doesn't… it's better. We've picked up the pace on some songs, so it's thrashier, with more double-kick, but also some laid-back rock songs. The fast songs are more pummelling than they used to be. We've been listening to too much black metal over the years, if there is such a thing."
While stepped up in ferocity, Hooper assures fans that the typical 3 Inches Of Blood topics of post-apocalyptic scenarios and beer-drinkin' are still prevalent. The album is completed aside from final artwork, and the band will tend to their own headlining tour once the stint with Cradle Of Filth winds down in late March. For now, though, they'll have to stick to opening slots.
"It doesn't matter as long as we're playing," says Hooper. "It's weird and refreshing to get back out on the road playing every night.
"When you're in the studio not playing shows for a couple of months, you're like, 'What the hell? Wasn't there something I was supposed to be doing tonight?' Not only that, but it seems like everyone in the band has a side project too… stuff like lounge music. After a few weeks of that, you're like, 'Fuck, I've gotta play some metal!'"
Here are remaining 3 Inches Of Blood's Canadian tour dates with Cradle Of Filth and 69 Eyes:
Feb. 8 Edmonton, AB @ Edmonton Events Centre
Feb. 9 Calgary, AB @ MacEwan Hall
Feb. 10 Kelowna, BC @ The Well
Feb. 11 Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom
Vancouver, Canada's inimitable 3 Inches of Blood have settled on the title of their forthcoming third album, and the winner is...
FIRE UP THE BLADES
The sextet is currently working on said disc with Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison acting as producer, and you can get a taste of their efforts via this DEMO of new track, "Goatrider's Horde."
You can catch 3 Inches of Blood on tour throughout January and February alongside Cradle of Filth and The 69 Eyes.
Cradle Of Filth are set to team up with Finland's The 69 Eyes for a North American tour in January/February.
Confirmed tour dates so far are as follows: More...

"Only after the first show of the Devils tour The 69 Eyes drummer Jussi 69 was rushed to the hospital in Porvoo and later taken by ambulance to Helsinki: his appendix perforated and was later removed.

Finnish goth-metallers The 69 Eyes have revealed the track listing of their new album, entitled "Devils", tentatively due this fall through EMI/Virgin Records.
The follow-up to 2002's "Paris Kills" was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (H.I.M., Moonspell, Sentenced) and Johnny Lee Michaels and will be preceded by a single containing the album's title cut.
"We worked for about one and a half years on this record [between songwriting and recording]," singer Jyrki 69 told Finland's Sonera Plaza Kaista. "I sometimes felt like the sessions were never going to be completed. But now, when I listen to the final result, I've gotta say that I'm totally satisfied and so happy! Whenever I think of our previous releases, there are always some little things I don't like about them, but 'Devils' is perfect record, in my opinion."
With regards to the album title, Jyrki said, "'Devils' is great title for a rock 'n' roll record, but no one has ever used it. And with 'devils,' we don't necessarily mean that goat-headed figure' [that most people think of when they hear the word] — our 'devils' refers to something else... It can mean, for example, the guys in this band."
"Devils" track listing:
02. Feel Berlin
03. Nothing on You
04. Sister of Charity
05. Lost Boys
07. August Moon

The song is also in "high radio rotation" on the main radio stations in Finland, according to a posting on the band's web site. To celebrate the release of the single, the original classic rock 'n' roll vampire movie "The Lost Boys" (1987) was shown on the big screen in Helsinki as a part of the horror movie festival "Night Visions".
THE 69 EYES are currently working on their new album, "Devils", with producers Johnny Lee Michaels and Hiili Hiilesmaa (H.I.M., MOONSPELL, SENTENCED). An October 2004 release through EMI/Virgin Records is expected.
Finnish Goth-metallers THE 69 EYES are currently in pre-production for the follow-up to 2002's "Paris Kills", tentatively due late summer/early fall.
