Oni To Release New Album In September
Following months of anticipation, acclaimed Canadian metalcore powerhouse Oni has revealed plans for the release of their third full-length album, "The Silver Line," which will debut September 22nd from Ironshore Records.
Led by frontman Jake Oni, the band lit a match earlier this year with the release of "Silence In A Room Of Lies" (Feat. Jared Dines) and a monumental tour with Megadeth and Bullet For My Valentine, which sparked a feverish frenzy among fans. Shortly after, they added fuel to the fire with the red hot single "Underneath My Skin" (Feat. Kellin Quinn), further teasing the impending release. Now, ONI fans the flames of an inferno of excitement with full details of the new album, and their next single "Aura," that features guests Josh Gilbert (ex-As I LAY Dying, Spiritbox) and Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage, Light The Torch).
Commenting on "The Silver Line" Jake Oni states:
"This album is different completely from anything I’ve done before. It’s the new direction for ONI sonically with Josh Gilbert and me at the helm writing and Joe McQueen mixing and getting the best vocal takes from me. It’s banger after banger from heavy tracks like 'Cyanide' to melodic uplifting songs like 'Aura' this album will have something for everyone to enjoy!"
Oni adds about "Aura":
"Aura is a collaboration with friends. It’s always great to work with Howard and Josh. It feels like this song was made a lifetime ago so I’m stoked for everyone to hear it." More...

Guest vocalist Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God states: "What a super creepy video! Horror fans will love it - the production is Hollywood film-quality. It looks like something out of a 'SAW' or 'Hostel' movie. I had a lot of fun with the Oni guys recording this track, and it's cool to see the music set to such dramatic scenery. Nightmares..." Oni Posts "Barn Burner" Xylosynth Playthrough
Technical progressive metal band Oni recently released heavy-hitting single "Barn Burner," and today you can watch superhuman Xylosynth player Johnny D shred through the track - with two mallets in each hand.
Johnny D explains the design and sound of his unique instrument: "Everyone is always asking me at our shows, 'what the hell is a Xylosynth?' so I'm glad that our fans can finally see the instrument demonstrated clearly.
"It's definitely built and played like a xylophone, but it's essentially a traditional synthesizer which allows me to play with a wide range of sound options. Everything from solo/lead parts to more textured stuff, like when I'm riffing with the guitars. This 'Barn Burner' video is a really good example of what I bring to the table in Oni." More...

Oni Releases "Barn Burner" Lyric Clip
Technical progressive metal band Oni has announced the release of debut scorcher "Ironshore," due out Black Friday, November 25th via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records.
After turning heads with first single "Eternal Recurrence," the band is following with new track "Barn Burner," which you can hear below. "Barn Burner" is presented in lyric video form, directed by Wovenwar/ex-As I Lay Dying guitarist Nick Hipa.
Bassist Chase Bryant discusses the inspiration behind the track: "Our front-man, Jake Oni, and I originally discussed including a 'get in the pit and die' track on the album, and 'Barn Burner' is that track. Musically, we went for something fast, heavy, and based around dream-like, mysterious tones. The track is inspired by a dream I had about parallel universes - I could see them all lined up like ripples in the water. A girl walked between the ripples and changed her surroundings at will. After having that vivid dream and working on conceptualizing it with Jake, the lyrics for 'Barn Burner' just poured themselves onto the page."
