Axel Rudi Pell Names New Drummer

Legendary German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell announced that Ex-Black Sabbath/Ex-Rainbow drummer Bobby Rondinelli (Ex-Riot/Ex-Warlock) has been named the new drummer. The band is set to begin recording the follow up to the 2012 release "Circle of the Oath."

The announcement reads: "We're proud to announce that Bobby Rondinelli is the new drummer for ARP! Bobby is well known for his work with Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, to name just a few. Axel Rudi Pell Posts Live Album Trailer

Legendary German guitarist Axel Rudi Pell is set to release a live 2CD/DVD box set entitled "Live On Fire" on March 25, 2013 via SPV/Steamhammer Records. The release features two live sets from the "Circle of the Oath" tour, the first in Cologne, Essigfabrik from October 18th 2012 and the second at the "Rock of Ages" Festival on July 28th 2012. The audio portion of the release will also be available on vinyl.

Axel Rudi Pell Announces European Tour Dates

German power metal artist Axe Rudi Pell announced a string of dates in German and the Netherlands in support of the forthcoming LP "Circle of the Oath." The album will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on March 23, 2012 in Germany, March 26, 2012 in Europe and on March 27, 2012 in the USA/Canada.

Support for the tour will be provided by country and label mates Mad Max, who will release its new LP "Another Night of Passion" on March 23, 2012 (EU) through SPV/Steamhammer.

German power metal guitarist Axel Rudi Pell has announced that all the recordings for the new LP "Circle of the Oath" are finished and the mixing and mastering will be done this week. "Circle of the Oath," which will be released through SPV/Steamhammer on March 23, 2012 in Germany, March 26, 2012 in Europe and on March 27, 2012 in the USA/Canada. The band will follow up the release wit the first leg of the European tour.

Wacken Open Air 2012 Sold Out

The organizers of Germany's Wacken Open Air festival have announced that next year's edition of the event, scheduled to take place between August 2nd - 4th in Wacken, Germany, has already sold out. A message from the organizers reads as follows:

"Amazing! Wacken is sold out for the seventh time in a row! For the seventh time in a row Wacken Open Air is sold out and never before in such a short time! All 75,000 tickets are sold. Thanx for your support, metalheads! A huge part of the billing is already announced including several special and exclusive shows as well as high-class acts. As every year we have made every effort to provide a terrific billing! And the announcements don´t stop. Via our online advent calendar at least one band will be announced every day during December. Together we will turn the 23. Wacken Open Air into a mega party!"

Axel Rudi Pell to Enter Studio

Axel Rudi Pell is proud to announce singer Johnny Gioeli, drummer Mike Terrana , keyboard player Ferdy Doernberg , bass player Volker Krawzak and guitarist Axel Rudi Pell will enter the studio in late November with Engineer and Co-Producer Charlie Bauerfeind, to record the next studio album, titled "Circle Of The Oath"

Axel Rudi Pell comments on this:

"I´m more than excited! I just finished the songwriting for all 10 songs including the compulsory intro and will concentrate on completing the lyrics in the next couple of days. This will be a hell of a record and you won´t be disappointed! It will have everything you expect from a true ARP record with all it´s magical moments and a few surprises...!"

Machine Head Confirmed For Wacken 2012

American heavy metal oufit Machine Head has been confirmed as the latest band for Germany's largest metal festival, Wacken Open Air, which will take place between August 2nd - 4th in 2012. Machine Head will be releasing their new studio album, "Unto The Locust" on September 26th in Europe with a North American release date of September 27th to follow. This will be their first album since 2007's highly acclaimed, "The Blackening."
