Frost Despair Performs New Songs Live

Symphonic black metal act Frost Despair has posted footage online of the band performing material off the new album "Surreal." The songs were performed live in Uranio Rock Metal Festival in March, when the group played along with Rotting Christ and Turisas in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

The album was recorded in Hurricane Studios and features artwork created by Marcelo Vasco (Dark Funeral, Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar). A release date will be announced soon. The track listing is as follows:

Frost Despair Streaming New Album Samples

Brazilian symphonic black metallers Frosts Despair are finishing the recordings for their debut album, "Surreal," which is the follow-up to 2011's "The God Delusion" EP. The band has now posted samples of three songs online, which can be heard at the Frost Despair website here. The group also comments on the tracks:

"The Sixth Bell - A track that brings up the album's atmosphere, which is slowly being set, with growing strength and musical aggressiveness.

"Surreal - It summarizes the atmosphere we looked for. Orchestrations were explored in the album as a whole, but we have some tracks with heavy moments without keyboards.

"Creation - Creationism being satirized with movement and aggressiveness. The longest and most epic track of Surreal."

Frost Despair Finishing New Album

Brazilian symphonic black metallers Frost Despair are currently finishing the recordings for new album "Surreal," which is the follow-up to 2011's "The God Delusion" EP. The album was recorded in Hurricane Studios, and produced by Sebastian Carsin (Enthroned, Bestial).

The artwork was created by Marcelo Vasco (Dark Funeral, Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar), who stated: "This illustration for 'Surreal' was forged through the general concept of his title and acclimated in the most dirty and chaotic way, mixing elements biomechanics with nature and science where everything becomes a kind of bestial and psychological heart."

Frost Despair Unveils "Surreal" Artwork

Frost Despair has revealed the cover artwork for the forthcoming album "Surreal," which can be viewed below. The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco (Dimmu Borgir, Keep of Kalessin, Dark Funeral, Chrome Division). Frost Despair frontman/composer/songwriter Odommok shares the following about the new album:

"We are more deep and extreme; 'Surreal' use elements of different kind of classic music but is completely different from our last album. We hope people listen to this with pleasure. Hails!"

Marcelo Vasco wrote his impressions about the cover artwork: "My intention creating the Frost Despair's cover art was to illustrate the concept of the album using elements of Surrealism, some chaotic stuff, bio-mechanic elements, nature and science in a bestial and psychological concept.

Frost Despair Comments On Upcoming Album

Brazil's Frost Despair recently revealed the title of the group's upcoming new album as "Surreal," which the band promises will be heavier and more orchestrated then previous album "The God Delusion," released last year.

Vocalist Odommok commented on the new album: "'Surreal' represents the deconstruction of the concrete, palpable. It can pass by the most elusive emotions of the human mind. The album will be intense, challenger and ornamented.

"We are working hard to create it and we wish to explore the most our musical capacity in this new album. We are facing a lot of changes and this reflect in our formation, tuning and the way we compose. To everyone who enjoy 'The God Delusion' we promise a great response."

Frost Despair Announces New Album Title

Brazilian black metal act Frost Despair has announced the band's next album will be titled "Surreal." According to a press release, the forthcoming album will continue many musical aspects from previous album "The God Delusion," but the band will make more extreme arrangements in compositions and lyrics. The title "Surreal" unites all the components that are being used on the construction of the tracks.

Vocalist Odommok commented, "This work talks about the destruction of a terrible zeitgeist based on religion and violence. Question the infallible divine power armed with reason and free thinking. Tell the history and genesis of the structural religion's organization. A symphonic storm over the infallible Gods."

Frost Despair Recording New Album

Brazil's Frost Despair has issued the following announcement about beginning the recording process for a new album, which will be the follow-up to the previous "The God Delusion" release:

"The band is recording for the forthcoming album and the release date will be revealed soon. The whole work is composed by more than 10 tracks.

Frost Despair has revealed the cover artwork for the band's debut album "The God Delusion," which can be viewed below. The artwork was created by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco (Dimmu Borgir, Keep of Kalessin, Dark Funeral, Chrome Division) and "The God Delusion" was recorded in Brazil from March to July 2011 at Hurricane Studios by Sebastian Carsin. The title is taken from the Richard Dawkins books of the same title.

Frost Despair singer/composer/songwriter Odommok shares the following about the new album: "We started a work with 'The God Delusion' using elements of different kind of classic music and metal. Our atheistic metal will be great! Hails"

Marcelo Vasco wrote his impressions about the cover artwork: "My intention creating the Frost Despair's cover art was to illustrate the perfect symbiosis between the living beauty and lightness that surrounds a symphony, and at the same time its possibility of being dark, heavy, painful, death and sad. Trying to pass this antagonistic feeling in a striking way, giving the opportunity to people to take their own conclusions of the idea that the album's name: 'The God Delusion' might suggest."
