The Bendal Interlude Premieres Full New Album
We're only one single day away now from the official release of The Bendal Interlude's "Reign of the Unblinking Eye," due to drop Friday, April 1st via Blow Bow Records.
Some of you simply can't wait that long to hear this psychedelic thrash/sludge mixup though, and we don't blame you! Today we're giving you the chance to hear all of "Reign of the Unblinking Eye" a full 24 hours in advance of the release - listen in below.
After spinning these nine sick new tracks from the U.K. band, there's still time to pre-order the album through Black Bow here. Guitarist Stu Taylor also comments:
"After releasing four EPs through Crack Zombie Records, we decided it was high time to write a full LP containing full-bodied tracks the listener could sink their teeth into. We took a shift in direction when writing for the album 'Reign of The Unblinking Eye.' The songs are much more elaborate and have a lot more going on sound-wise than previous releases. We played with time signatures, guitar harmonies, key changes, even laying down a 10-part resonator guitar part. It is by far the heaviest but also most dynamic thing we’ve written to date.
"Previously, lyrical content has been more of an abstract collection of ideas and imagery based around loose themes. With this offering, a more autobiographical approach has been taken with some songs, with themes including time spent with partial face paralysis, a tendency to lose things, favourite tapestry, bare-hand toilet unblocking, plus the usual collection of vaguely connected lists of obscenities. We wanted to write a dynamic LP that had melody and atmosphere through use of guitar solos and cinematic samples, whilst maintaining solid, heavy groove." More...

Volunteer Premieres "Wrong" Track
A cross-genre coalition of rock, indie, punk, hardcore, and metal musicians from Wisconsin has come together to release "Unintimidated," a compilation protesting the actions of governor (and former Republican presidential candidate) Scott Walker.
Officially due out April 8th, all proceeds from the sale of the compilation will go towards helping local soup kitchens and area Planned Parenthoods. Full details are available here.
Today we're bringing you an exclusive first listen to a track off the release. Whether you care about the political aspect or not, "Wrong" by noise outfit Volunteer is a track well worth hearing - check it out below! Volunteer commented on joining the project:
"We got involved with this compilation because Scott Walker doesn't care about folks in this state. He's had a direct negative effect on people we know. He's busted unions, gone after education and defunded Planned Parenthood. He's bought and paid for by the Koch brothers and the Republican party.
"He doesn't have public interest in mind. When he's written into history, he'll be up there next to McCarthy as one of this state's worst governors. I'm glad he didn't get too far with his presidential candidacy. What a joke. When DJ approached us to get involved, we didn't even have to think about it." More...

The idea behind the title comes from how I personally felt when in the midst of a darker period."
He goes on to say, "When one finds himself in a 'revelation' type state, they have a few choices in which to handle the new information or realization they discovered; they may take the newly aquired knowledge and expand upon their problem/life, take nothing from the experience and brush it off, or stay stuck in the revelation itself (which is the route explored on the album.) As if in a bubble, one neither acts nor fails to act upon the new knowlegde, but instead remains within the revelation (bubble). The lyrics are based upon what I saw and learned within this revelation."

Media Solution Premieres New Single
Formally Italian and now Los Angeles-based heavy metal quintet Media Solution just wrapped up work on a new EP titled "The Prelude," which will be North America's formal introduction to the group next month.
Due out April 22nd, "The Prelude" was recorded with producer/engineer Ulrich Wild (Deftones, Static-X) and Mikey Doling (Snot, Soulfly), and features seven tracks of pissed off heavy metal/hard rock in response to “bland, mind-numbing corporate media…who continue to hide the truth.”
Before relocating to America, Media Solution had the honor of sharing the stage with bands like Motorhead, Obituary, Agnostic Front and Sepultura. In fact, the band’s debut album in 2010 features Derrick Green and Jean Dolabella of Sepultura as special guests, and there's not much higher praise than that.
To introduce the world to "The Prelude," today we're exclusively premiering an absolute banger of a track titled "Destroy Something Beautiful." Check it out below (listening in just costs three easy payments of your body and soul) and let us know what you think!
Media Solution vocalist Robb Sackett comments: “’Destroy Something Beautiful’ is about the beauty of life being distorted and destroyed for power, money & other people's needs. ’The Prelude,’ as well as being the return of Media Solution, is the soundtrack of the impending revolution. In a world where money talks, power corrupts, and egos run wild, 'The Prelude' is a battle cry for the voiceless and a warning to all that stand in the way.” More...
