Infernus Wins Gorgoroth Trademark Case

Band Photo: Gorgoroth (?)
A decision has been reached in the case regarding who is entitled to use the band name Gorgoroth between guitarist Infernus and previous members Gaahl and King Ov Hell.
Oslo City District Court has today (Tuesday, March 10th) delivered a verdict on the main question in the Gorgoroth trademark case, which took place at the end of January 2009.
The court has decided that King Ov Hell's trademark registration #243365 of the band name Gorgoroth is NOT valid and shall therefore be deleted.
The court states that King Ov Hell and Gaahl excluded themselves from the band Gorgoroth when they tried to fire Infernus in October 2007.
The court further states that Infernus cannot be excluded from Gorgoroth, unless he himself decides to quit.
Infernus is very pleased, but not surprised, by this verdict. The remaining issues concerning financial matters and such are yet to be decided upon.

lmao. isnt ghaal gay anyway? i cant take him seriously anymore. he was like "we are fighting a cosmic war" in an interview and i just burst out laughing.
I guess they'll have to call their new band grogeroth or something. gregorgroth. geichogoroth. gorg-asdfsdfsdfsdf-o-roth
I'd seen the True Norwegian Black Metal interviews with Gaahl but never really looked up any info about him beyond that. Reading his bio at Wikipedia is so odd. It's like - assault conviction, kidnap, torture, trouble in Poland over the black mass video, making someone drink their own blood, oh yeah, and he's also a homosexual vegetarian who is working on a line of designer women clothing. I don't have a problem with any of those last things (I eat mostly veggie myself and protested outside the Mormon temple in Salt Lake over their support of Prop 8) but it's really strange to see that particular combination together with all of his bad a$$ posturing and criminal record.
xFiruath: A very good friend of mine has difficulty with what you mentioned above as well. He said that every time he thinks of Gaahl now he gets an immage of Gaahl pushing his gay lover on a swingset while they both giggle like little schoolgirls. He hasn't ever had an issue with gay people, but of all poeple... Gaahl?

Post 20...no you a veg head...i wouldnt be able to tell by your gay a$$ hippie picture...i know its so metal to eat flowers and f*** guys in the ass.....and leave the mormons alone...if fags can marry then they should be ablt to have 100 wives if they want.....talk about persecution...get a clue hippie.
That's some pretty heavy news to take in and a surprise, too for I had hope that they would all have a share investment in the name of GORGOROTH. The past 4-5 yrs have been a trial for all of them particularly the guitarist Infernus/Roger Tiegs: he was not in the limelight as much as Gaahl-vocalist or King ov Hell-bassist in whom I feel held the name of Gorgoroth in the highest "esteem & protection" and put in some serious yrs with Gorgoroth. I'm sure Infernus in the future will be just as protecting of this band whom he founded/named for he certainly fought to get reclaimed the ownership Trademark of it. It only saddens me that Gaahl & King ov Hell won't be apart of that Trademark name GORGOROTH in future and hope they/Gaahl & King will continue working together with a new "name" and plus continue their music works w/drummer Kvitrafn/Einar Selvik formerly of Gorgoroth now in Wardruna w/Gaahl (Kristian Espedal) and Jotunspor w/King (Tom Cato Visnes). Which all of these music endeavors are haunting magnificents in their own rights: created by strong minds. Also, their is "I" and "Sahg" King/Tom is involved with & Trelldrom, Gaahl/Kristian other band. All the healing best to those that made Gorgoroth, click for the main ones are mentioned above! Peace and cheers.
*LMAO* M.H.D, post 27 owns! You did forget someting he would really say........................................................Satan.......................will.................... screw....................Infernus.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really though. I honestly did not care who won the case. I am sure that Gaahl, King, and Infernus will still be making music. It really is not the end of the world for Gaahl, nor is it really that big of a win for Infernus, in my opinion. Both could have just aswell made thier own band, and name, and that black metal kingdom would be just a great a kingdom as it was in the beginging of this mess.
