Soil Announces 2024 UK Tour Dates
SOiL will return to the UK for the first time since 2019 this coming November. Alongside the Chicago heavyweights is support from (Hed)PE, Nonpoint, and the return of Texas nu metal pioneers The Union Underground.
This fully packed “Era” package will see SOiL performing songs exclusively from their 2001 hit album Scars with tracks such as “Halo,” “Unreal,” “Breaking Me Down,” and including deep cuts like “Two Skins” and “Understanding Me.” This marks the first time since the release of the album Scars that SOiL has played an “All Scars” set.
"This will be an epic return to the UK for us," remarks SOiL guitarist Adam Zadel. "The album Scars was an instant hit in the UK and has maintained its status for over 20 years. It’s going to be exciting to play an exclusive set for the UK fans."
SOiL bassist Tim King adds: "To share this 'Scars only' event with our wonderful UK fans is going to be super exciting. On top of that, to also be alongside all our dear friends in (Hed)PE, Nonpoint, and The Union Underground is going to make this a tour to remember for many years to come."

Drowning Pool Reunites With Singer Ryan McCombs
As first reported by Metal Edge, Soil vocalist Ryan McCombs has rejoined Drowning Pool, with whom he appeared on two studio albums, "Full Circle" and "Drowning Pool," as well as a live album, "Loudest Common Denominator," before leaving in 2011. Fortunately for Soil fans, McCombs will continue to front them too. The quartet will play their reunion show tonight at Club L.A. in Destin, Florida, before headlining the Throwdown At The Campground festival tomorrow.
Said McCombs, "When I stepped away from music back in 2004, I only got back into the mix because it was with [Drowning Pool members] C.J., Stephen and Mike, and because it was also a way for me to be a small part of keeping their music with Dave [late Drowning Pool vocalist Dave Williams] alive. Just being back in the same room together after so many years, gearing up for these shows, was a quick reminder as to why I considered them to be my best friends in the business back in the day. As everyone living life can attest to, sometimes our days can get messy - but in the words of one Dave Williams, ‘Everything happens for reasons, I just don’t know…’ Some of the greatest moments in my career came about as a member of DP and I’m really thankful for the opportunity to perform with them once again."
Added drummer Mike Luce, "I’m very happy that Soil and Drowning Pool are in a spot now where we not only co-exist, but are close enough as friends to move forward together. We support and respect each other enough for us to make sure they can keep doing what they do, and for them to allow us to revisit a bunch of these cool tunes we played a decade-plus ago, with the singer who we viewed as the archetype after Dave passed. We can’t wait to get onstage together again and see where this leads."
"It’s exciting as hell having Ryan McCombs rocking out with us again," said guitarist C.J. Pierce. "It’s been 13 years since the last time we were in a rehearsal room together, and from the second we hit that first note it was like we never skipped a beat. I’ve never felt such a connection as musicians, true friends and family as I do with Mike, Stevie and Ryan. I can’t wait to share the stage together again."
"Never say never," said bassist Stevie Benton. "It’s hard to believe it’s been over 10 years since we shared a stage with Ryan. I think, deep down, we always knew this reunion would happen."
Additionally, McCombs’ band mates in Soil stated: "Ryan has extensive history with both Soil and Drowning Pool, so when the opportunity arose for him to move forward as the singer of both bands, we knew we could make it work together. Both bands aren’t kids anymore, and we’ve all grown as people, mended past hard feelings, and are approaching the 25-year marks. Ryan wants to work. He wants to tour and play as much as possible, and this allows him to do that. As Dave Williams said just days before his passing, ‘Anywhere there is electricity for DP and Soil to play together, let’s do it…’"
Soil Covers Neil Young Classic
When word got back to Neil Young and his band that their 1989 concert performance scheduled to take place in the Soviet Union had been cancelled by antagonistic government authorities, Young’s guitar player Frank Sampedro replied to the news with “well, I guess we’ll have to keep on rockin’ in the free world.” And thus, one of the most legendary and fiercely defiant rock anthems of the 20th century was born.
The song became the bookends of Young’s brilliant studio album, Freedom, with an acoustic version kicking it off and an electric version closing it and would eventually be celebrated as one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time (#216).
Now that Young’s music has fallen silent on the world’s most prominent musical platform, Spotify, another band has stepped forward to make sure that Young’s rebellious spirit continues to live on with a powerful new version of "Rockin' In The Free World." Chicago alternative metal kings SOiL have released their own version of the song to all digital platforms, keeping the fire lit for future generations of rebels and iconoclasts.
As the band explains "Over the years, SOiL has considered covering Neil Young’s 'Rockin’ In The Free World' many times. It was a song that really struck a nerve with us individually in our younger days before SOiL was even a band. The song still stands the test of time and is as powerful today as it was back then. This version we recorded was scheduled to be released as part of a special upcoming album due out later this year, but we decided that now would be a good time to let everyone hear our take on the Neil Young classic with the SOiL twist. We hope you all enjoy it!"
Repentance Premiere New Single “Reborn”
Repentance (ex-SOiL, etc.) have inked a record deal with Noble Demon and premiere their new single “Reborn“. The track features a guest appearance from Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu and will appear on their upcoming new EP, due out later this year.

SOiL Take Over Bristol
For those of who grew up at a certain time, there will always be songs that stay with us. As a twelve year old, it was impossible to escape "Here To Stay" by Korn, "Rollin'" by Limp Bizkit, "Last Resort" by Papa Roach and of my personal favourites "Halo" by SOiL. Even if the young rockers of the time didn't stay fans of these bands, the idea of seeing such anthems live was a very exciting prospect and one we couldn't wait to experience. However, I did remain a SOiL fan from then until the present day and knowing that their catalogue goes well beyond one "classic" song made tonight's show so much more exciting for me. More...

Soil Tour Bus Crashes
Ryan McCombs, front man of rock band SOiL, just announced that the group's tour bus crashed early this morning.
According to his status on Facebook, he was asleep in his bunk when he heard the driver shout for them all to "hold on" while the bus storms off the highway and into the hard shoulder. No injuries occurred and everyone involved has left unharmed. Here is the status McCombs uploaded to Facebook:
"At 4:33 AM the last thing you want to hear in your bunk is a combination of the driver yelling 'HOLD ON!!,' the sound of the bus flying off of the highway and The Jake (tour manager) screaming like a 12 year old girl at a Justin Bieber concert.
"I find it interesting that as everyone sits around the stranded bus talking about what was going through their heads all I can remember is gripping my pillow like it was going to save me from whatever was about to occur and thinking '....huh...." No serious injuries.. Just a bus full of arseholes that for the most part are happy to be alive and now just making fun of each other for their responses.. We really are a bunch of fu*kwads..' Life's being a bumpy road for Ryan and the band..!" More...
