Eths Announces Final Shows
French metal crew Eths just announced the band's final performances will be in Paris and Marseilles, and feature the return of original vocalist Candice Clot. A founding member of the band, Candice Clot has appeared on Eth's classic albums "Soma" (2004), "Teratologie
(2008), and "III" (2012).
Regarding the recent news about the Eths breakup, and the forthcoming final performances, the band comments: "These last few years, a number of ordeals slowly pushed us towards different musical yearnings while dulling the fun that we have had playing as a band. Eths has always been about honesty and fun, but we have to face the fact that our hearts are not in there anymore. Therefore we made the joined decision to call it quits - in order to fully focus on our separate musical endeavors and to find our joy in music again.
"From the bottom of our hearts, we want to extend our deepest thanks to all the fans, old and new, who supported the band through thick and thin. Thank you also to all musicians, road crews, bookers, radio DJs, directors, graphic designers, photographers, producers, journalists, and all other professionals of the music business, who helped us out in one way or another along the way. We have experienced unforgettable moments thanks to all of you and we will cherish those times forever." More...

Eths Streams Full New Album Online
French metal band Eths is now streaming relentless forthcoming new album "Ankaa" online in full. Listen in below. Regarding the new album, Eths guitarist Staif Bihl comments:
"Here we are, the entire album! I'm really glad to finally share it with everybody. Each song has its own universe and I have built 'Ankaa' as a walk through these different atmospheres, like a passage from the oppressive darkness to soothing clarity. I tried to keep the essence of the band but, in the same time, to bring it in places where we've never been.
"I injected a big part of myself in this opus and I hope you'll like it as much as we do! We want to warmly thank all those who participated in this album, a part of each of us is in here! Faustine Berardo, Sarah Layssac, Jon Howard & Björn Strid for all the additional vocals, Dirk Verbeuren for the drumming, Guillaume Dupré for the percussion, Nelson Leeroy for the mixing, Mobo (Conkrete Studio) for the mastering & Nicolas Senegas for the artwork. This album is dedicated to our friend Isilion."

Eths Streams "Kumari Kandam"
Eths today streams another new track from upcoming album "Ankaa." Check out "Kumari Kandam" in the player below. Regarding the new track, Ethsguitarist Staif Bihl comments:
"I am glad to introduce a third new track from our forthcoming album. The lyrics of 'Kumari Kandam' were written by me with the help of my friend Faustine Berardo (La Nebuleuse D'Hima), who is also singing some parts of this song together with Sarah Layssac of Arkan. Kumari Kandam is a legendary continent that is said to be lying at the bottom of the sea south of the Indian subcontinent. My lyrics deal with human civilizations, and how they have vanished due to force of nature or just of their own doing – as a warning for future generations. Of course, this story also applies to our own civilization, which seems to be working as hard as possible to speed up its own downfall."
The quartet will release "Ankaa" worldwide on April 22nd. The band's new album marks the first full-length with new vocalist and "France has got Talent" sensation Rachel Aspe. The album's track listing is as follows:

"The lyrics are again both very personal and inspired by moments in my past as well as universal by the ever changing face of the world. There are many possible interpretations and you are invited to find your own vision."

Eths Splits With Vocalist
Season of Mist has issued the following announcement about female-fronted act Eths splitting with its vocalist: "We are sorry to announce that vocalist Candice is leaving French modern metal act ETHS. Below is the singer’s full statement on the subject. Season of Mist thank Candice for her work and dedication and wish her all the best for the future."
Candice also posted the following message online:
“It is with deep sorrow that I am informing you of my departure from the band. I am leaving four friends, two of which I even consider as brothers.
“I made this choice for personal and family reasons. It has been very hard to make this decision and to face the truth about my longings and a passion that is no longer strong enough to prevail. I can’t live unconditionally for music and its listeners anymore. Although the stage remains an outlet, I can’t live up to such a demanding job anymore. I have been living for music for the past 15 years and it has given me back so much, but there are now things I can’t sacrifice anymore and I need to take care of my family and stay with them.
“The band wants to go on, as the guys are still burning with a rage and a motivation that I don’t have anymore – you can’t cheat with things that have to come from your heart, body and soul. I am begging you to keep ETHS and the people who will replace me close to your hearts. This is the end of a chapter but you have to give a chance to novelty and change. I am definitely not irreplaceable. Until the band finds a permanent successor, two people will share the vocal duties and I asked my friend Virginie from KELLS (please be nice to her) to be one of them. Before that, I will carry out the remaining gigs until October to bid you farewell and enjoy my last moments on stage. This may surprise you and the last shows may be emotionally painful, but I prefer to talk about it publicly now. More...
