Background
The Richmond, VA 5-piece, Lamb of God, came together in the current form in the fall of 1999. The band has been around in various forms and under various names, most notably Burn The Priest, since '94, however, and the brothers, Chris and Willie, have been playing music together since '88.
Lamb of God signed with Epic records in 2004 and completed their major label debut in just 5 months before embarking on their first Ozzfest tour and subsequent US and UK tours.
Lamb of God play a caustic style of extreme metal that can be compared to few others. It can best be described as a raw mixture of death and doom metal elements, but that description does not do their sound justice. Go get their CD or catch a show and hear it for yourself.

Lamb of God Comments on Grammy Nomination
LAMB OF GOD is celebrating their latest accomplishment, a nomination for a Grammy Award. The nomination is in the “Best Metal Performance” category for the track “Set to Fail” from their #2 debuting album “Wrath,” which was released on Epic Records in 2009.
Guitarist Mark Morton had the following to say about their nomination: "It's an absolute blast to have been nominated once again for a Grammy. Of course, our greatest reward has always been our collective love for the music we make. That, combined with the unbelievable support and loyalty of our fans around the world, is without a doubt what keeps us going. The Grammy’s, however, represent a recognition from a completely different perspective and we're honored to be considered alongside some of metal's most legendary bands. The entire music industry has been forced to reinvent itself, and it feels good to know that all of the noise we've been making has had an impact!"
LAMB OF GOD is no stranger to the Grammy Awards, as they were previously nominated in the “Best Metal Performance” category for their song “Redneck” from 2006 album “Sacrament.”
The band will be back on the road in 2010 to lap the world again in support of their latest album, "Wrath," which exploded onto the Billboard 200 back in February of 2009 debuting at #2 and selling over 67,000 units in its first week.

Doc Coyle Releases Statement About Beer Incident
GOD FORBID guitarist DOC COYLE, who was filling in for LAMB OF GOD guitarist Mark Morton on their opening trek with METALLICA, has issues an official statement through MetalSucks.net regarding the much-publicized incident in which a fan threw a cup of liquid at his face during a performance.
“I’m sure many of you have seen the video of me getting pegged on stage while I was on Metallica tour filling in for Mark from Lamb of God. Although 95% of the comments were really supportive, I just wanted to clarify a few things about the incident. First off, it was a beer, not a water. A big ol’ tall boy plastic cup of beer, and whoever threw it must have been a quarterback because it was full and hit me square in the eye at full steam. It felt like I got sucker punched. I had a mark by my cheek bone and it was swollen all night. I surprised I didn’t have a black eye. The way it hit me is probably the reason why I reacted the way I did. I’m no tough guy, but I wasn’t really thinking. I just reacted. I really don’t know what I would’ve done if anyone would’ve have owned up to to throwing it, but I have no clue if I would’ve hit the person. I can say that I’m not violent at all, and don’t think violence is a productive way to solve problems. I’m glad nothing came of it, but obviously the person was pretty cowardly to throw it and not own up to it. Anyway, shit happens. I just think it’s kind of funny how it spread on the internet. Beer in the face and all, it was still more than an honor to play with Lamb of God and open for Metallica.”
You can check out the action at the 4:22 mark in the video below:

Billy Milano also commented about the performance with the LAMB OF GOD Guys:
“To share the stage with LAMB OF GOD was fucking amazing. It was a life changing experience. Watching the video on YouTube, I couldn’t believe the size of the stage I was on. I don’t want to say it was the highlight of my career, but it truly was a milestone. Words are escaping me while trying to describe this event, which is strange, since I never shut the fuck up.”

Downspell Nearing Completion of New Album
Alaskan/San Diego metal band DOWNSPELL are wrappin' up production on their new album. After losing the recording of their eagerly anticipated new album in the last mixing stages, Downspell regrouped and are in the last stages of polishing the album. But as guitarist Jake Phillips says "anytime you're that mad, let down, frustrated, depressed, etc... It usually leads to great fucking tunes!" Jake also added "we had A LOT of time to rework some songs that we had issues with and also get a few of the guest musicians back on the second take. Due to everyones touring/personal schedules we lost a few key guests that unfortunately couldn't redo their parts. But we still got RANDY BLYTHE of Lamb of God and also BOBBY FERRY from 16 (Relapse Records) to get in there and they definitely kicked some serious ass contributing." More...
