LAMB OF GOD is celebrating their latest accomplishment, a nomination for a Grammy Award. The nomination is in the “Best Metal Performance” category for the track “Set to Fail” from their #2 debuting album “Wrath,” which was released on Epic Records in 2009.
Guitarist Mark Morton had the following to say about their nomination: "It's an absolute blast to have been nominated once again for a Grammy. Of course, our greatest reward has always been our collective love for the music we make. That, combined with the unbelievable support and loyalty of our fans around the world, is without a doubt what keeps us going. The Grammy’s, however, represent a recognition from a completely different perspective and we're honored to be considered alongside some of metal's most legendary bands. The entire music industry has been forced to reinvent itself, and it feels good to know that all of the noise we've been making has had an impact!"
LAMB OF GOD is no stranger to the Grammy Awards, as they were previously nominated in the “Best Metal Performance” category for their song “Redneck” from 2006 album “Sacrament.”
The band will be back on the road in 2010 to lap the world again in support of their latest album, "Wrath," which exploded onto the Billboard 200 back in February of 2009 debuting at #2 and selling over 67,000 units in its first week.

Congrats to Lamb of God. They deserve everything that they have and more. I've said it before and I'll say it again, they are the Pantera of this era/generation. They have not sold in any way and their music is incredible. They're at the top of the metal food chain as of now. They deserve to win for sure. I'm with RTB above, hopin' to see them on Mayhem or wherever again and again and again. STAY METAL MY FRIENDS!

well, considering how big Lamb of God is, unless a band like Slayer or Megadeth hopped in, they would be headlining Mayhem anyway, and get the 2 hour setlist.
They were on the Ozzfest freefest stage and had like an hour and a half set right before Ozzy, and that was a couple years ago, so as popular as they are now, their headlining slot is practically a given.
But f*** the grammys.
