Static-X Premiere New Single & Music Video

Platinum-certified groove and industrial metal band Static-X have just unveiled the official music video for their track "Z0mbie." This song was originally intended for their delayed album, "Project Regeneration: Vol. 2."
While most of the songs on both this upcoming album and its predecessor feature recordings by the late Static-X vocalist and guitarist Wayne Static, "Z0mbie" stands out. It only incorporates a guitar riff originally written by Static himself.
In this track, Xer0, the band's current frontman (also known as Edsel Dope of Dope), takes on the lead vocal duties. The song was composed by Static-X's classic-era lineup of Tony Campos, Koichi Fukuda, and Ken Jay. The video was brought to life through animation by Makinita Silva, with Edsel, the current creative director for Static-X, serving as the director for the video.
"Project Regeneration: Vol. 2" recently faced a delay, moving its release date from September 26th to January 26th.
The band is all set to hit the road this week for their upcoming tour, featuring Sevendust, Dope, and Lines Of Loyalty. More...

Static-X And Dope Have Equipment Stolen
Platinum selling International recording artists Static-X have filed a police report with the LAPD, siting that their warehouse space (which is also shared with the band Dope) was recently robbed of nearly 200K worth of touring equipment during the Corona Virus Lockdown.
The two bands were advised to take the story public, in order to help raise awareness with other small business owners and bands alike.
"With most of us in lock down, and those who aren’t locked down, wearing masks in public, apparently it’s a great time to be a thief," says Static-X drummer Ken Jay.

Dope Singer Denies Fronting Static X
Dope front-man Edsel Dope, in the midst of a flurry of online speculation, has broken his silence to address the claims of photographic evidence attempting to prove his role as the masked vocalist, named Xer0, on the current Static-X Wisconsin Death Trip 20th Anniversary Tour / Memorial for Wayne Static.
"Hello world.
"I have quietly sat through all of this speculation and have thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Yesterday’s internet eruption reminded me of an episode of Scooby-Doo. It’s incredible how far some people will go to get attention or clicks, so let me remind you how easy it is to slap a little tribal neck tattoo onto someone in photoshop.
"I’m honored for myself and for my band DOPE to be part of this 20th anniversary celebration, along with this unbelievable, traveling memorial to our old friend Wayne Static. Wayne is currently on the minds and in the hearts of the metal community in a very unique and special way. His memory / legacy is more celebrated than it has ever been before. I personally get to see the joy, the tears, and the incredible sense of healing that is occurring on the faces and in the hearts of Static-X fans, each and every night, around the world.
"I’m not attempting to be a spokesperson for Static-X, but I will share that I have personally met Wayne’s parents and siblings, as they have attended a number of these shows. I have personally seen their tears of joy and their expressions of gratitude and approval for the way that Tony, Ken, Koichi, & Xer0 are celebrating the music and memorializing the life and legacy of their son and sibling, Wayne Wells Static.
"I’m including a candid photo that I snapped of Static-X drummer Ken Jay embracing Wayne’s father, while Tony Campos, Wayne’s mother, Wayne’s siblings and friends share some personal time together. Words cannot express the love and respect that I’ve experienced out here. More...

Dope/Combichrist Conquer Austin, Texas
April 3rd, 2017
The Blood, Lust Death Tour arrived at Grizzly Hall in Austin, Texas with one of the best industrial packages of the year. A reunited Dope took the stage with Combichrist, September Mourning and Davey Suicide supporting. While there were quite a few Combichrist fans supporting wearing the band’s t-shirts, the headliner certainly brought in the most people.
Before the tour bands got underway, though, there were some locals. Sine was the first local act I was able to catch at the early hour of 7 PM. Doors at Grizzly opened at 6, so the opener was without much of a crowd. They might have only played in front of 25 people, but Sine played like they were in front of a crowd in triple digits. Their front woman, Rona Rogueheart had a beautiful-yet-aggressive voice. The band played dark industrial music with a synthetic quality that was very danceable, thus they did their job and warmed up the venue for the headliners. More...

Dope premieres a new music video for its cover of Ministry‘s "Thieves", taken from the band's upcoming new album "Blood Money Part 2", which is expected later in the year. The clip also has a guest appearance from Combichrist vocalist Andy LaPlegua.
Says Dope frontman Edsel Dope of the video: "Like many people, I wasn’t pro Hillary, nor was I pro Trump. I’m pro America and all of the politicians appear to be crooked in one way or another… As a result., we had a good time throwing all of them under the bus in this video."
Check out now "Thieves" below.

Dope Posts New Music Video
Dope just released a music video for "Hold On," taken off the band's "Blood Money Part 1" album. The clip was directed by Dope frontman Edsel Dope and his old friend Dale Rage Resteghini.
Scheduled to release on October 28th via Entertainment One (eOne Music), "Blood Money Part 1", along with a plethora of bundle packages, meet-and-greets, and exclusive new merch designs, is available to pre-order at this location.
"This is by far, the most personal and vulnerable piece of art that I've ever released," adds Edsel. "Unlike some of Dope's more theatrically driven works, 'Hold On' is totally uninhibited. It is a reflection of my own personal story, told through a singular piece of art. Truthfully, this was a very difficult piece for me to complete at times, but, in the end, it has also been a very healing experience. I hope that the vulnerability and sincerity will resonate with people "

Dope Posts New Album Teaser
Chicago's Dope has released a video teaser showcasing the brand new track titled "Drug Music" to be featured on the band's 6th self-produced LP titled "Blood Money." The album is scheduled for release in March of 2014.
Speaking publicly for the first time in four years, founder and frontman Edsel Dope weighs in what fans can expect:
"It sounds like Dope. But it's next level. It's Dope in 2014. With every record, the chemistry changes, the band changes and the sound expands. I'm really happy with how it's turning out. It's heavy, it's pointed, it's punk, pissed off, angry, electronic, noisy, melodic and metal. It picks up where 'No Regrets' left off and yet somehow has a lot of the punk / industrial energy of the early Felons and Revolutionaries stuff. It's Dope. And like all Dope, it's best when played extremely loud and while traveling at dangerously high speeds. We'll be putting out more of these teaser clips as we get closer to 2014."
Dope is returning after a four year hiatus that concluded after touring alongside Black Label Society & Sevendust following the release of the bands 5th album "No Regrets."
"Truth is, after 13 years of non-stop recording and touring with Dope, I was burnt and I just needed a break from it all," says Edsel. He continues, "I'm ready to go now! I’m excited to get out there and re-connect with the fans and with that energy and feeling of being on tour. We are gonna do a month worth of shows and lose our fuckin' minds before I slide back into the studio and put the finishing touches on the new album." More...
