When an event has been around for 13 years, it's usually time to shake things up. Clearly less metal that past editions of the tour but still relevant, dates for the 2007 Taste of Chaos Tour have been announced. The tour will kick off on February 15th and will be headlined by 30 Seconds to Mars with The Used, Senses Fail, Saosin, Chiodos and Evaline performing. Confirmed tour dates are as follows: More...
Since the release of their last album, 'In Love and Death,' two years ago, it's been fairly quiet on the Used front. But there are increasing signs of life, including the release of a DVD, billing on the Taste of Chaos tour and a new album due in stores early next year. Guitarist Quinn Allman has trickled out some more information about the band's forthcoming third effort, telling Guitar World magazine that the first single will be the song 'Handsome Awkward.'
"[The song] sounds like Aerosmith got into a fight with somebody," Allman said in the January issue. "It sounds like Steven Tyler's gonna have a seizure. It's definitely blues-y and based off a really good guitar riff. Definitely a heavier, riffier Zeppelin kind of style."
As previously reported, the band re-teamed with producer John Feldmann for the as-yet-untitled effort. "The record is brand new, a couple of great songs, a couple of heavy songs," frontman Bert McCracken told AOL. "We've been hiding away for a while, but we're pretty stoked."
The full line-up for the 2007 North American Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour has been announced. The tour will be co-headlined by the Used and 30 Seconds To Mars and will feature Senses Fail, Saosin, Aiden, Chiodos, and Evaline as support.
The tour will kick off February 15th of next year in Seattle, however, no other dates have been announced yet.
The Used has issued the following statement regarding their split with their drummer:
"It is with much sadness that we want to tell you that Branden is no longer the drummer in The Used. We felt that we needed to move forward without Branden as our drummer. We wish Branden well, and owe a great deal of gratitude towards him for his hard work over the years. We could not have gotten this far without him. We all wish much happiness and success in Branden's future endeavors - wherever they may lead."
"No new drummer has been chosen yet."
"We are almost done recording the album and it should be released in early 2007."
"We are very proud of the songs so far and can't wait for you to hear them."
AOL Music is hosting an online listening party for the 'Saw II' soundtrack, released Tuesday (October 25). The album features music from bloodsimple, Opiate for the Masses, Marilyn Manson, The Used, Mudvayne, Papa Roach, Sevendust, Queens Of The Stone Age, and more. You can listen to the album in full here.
