By no means are we not still great friends and always will be. It was a great ride and Mike was always there for anyone who needed any kind of help and a killer drummer. We wish him all the best on future projects.
"We are pleased and very excited to announce that Darren Cesca will be featured on the next release on percussion. He is well-known within the drummer community and highly looked up to for his talents. For those of you who do not know Darren, he is a beast behind the drum kit, has a lot to offer to the Deeds Of Flesh sound dynamically and fits perfect with what all our visions are. Mike himself adds: "The time has come for me to step down as the drummer of Deeds of Flesh. I'm So Very proud of my career with DOF and I am honored to have been a member of such a Great Band that has always been at the forefront of extreme metal. I want to first thank Erik Lindmark for always believing in me and pushing me to be the best drummer I could be. I would also like to thank Craig Peters, Ivan Mungia, past members of DOF, my family, friends and all the fans that have supported me and DOF over the years. This was a personal decision and by no means an easy one. I wish DOF all the vest in their future endeavors!" More...

California's technical death metallers Deeds of Flesh have released an advanced track entitled "Rise of the Virvum Juggernaut," which is taken off their upcoming 2013 release "Portals to Canaan." Give the song a listen in the player below. Founding member Erik Lindmark also states:
"We are very excited to get this release out there amoung the masses. The album combines new and old elements of the band and we think the fans will really enjoy it. Zack from Castle Ultimate has done a great job in putting the final touches to the production and 'Portals to Canaan' is most definitely our best production to date. The new members, Craig Peters (lead guitar) & Ivan Munguia (bass) fit the band perfectly & really did a great job on the release. All in all we are extremely pleased with the final product and believe the fans will be stoked." More...
After announcing lineup changes during the summer, Deeds of Flesh has also now issued the following statement about bringing on a new bass player:
"We are pleased to announce that Ivan Munguia (Arkaik, Braindrill) will be taking over bass duties for Deeds of Flesh.
"Ivan's abilities on bass are regarded as one of the elite in the scene today and we are stoked to his addition to the band. Many thanx go out to Erlend Caspersen for his incredible work on 'Of What's to Come.'" More...
Deeds of Flesh founding member Erik Lindmark has issued the following announcement about taking over all vocal duties and parting ways with Corey Athos:
"As many know a couple years back we did a drastic member change where I decided to go from doing both vocals and guitar to just guitar and backing vocals and adding Corey Athos, Flesh Consumed to the line up. Corey was going to take over basically all of the vocal duties allowing me to concentrate more on just playing guitar & doing some back ups here and there.
"We thought this would be a good move allowing the vocals to be more aggressive and in your face like on our last release 'Of What's to Come,' we made the decision while writing this album which is why you hear the progression in both vocals and guitar work from our previous releases.
"This would also allow myself to get a bit more technical and crazy on the guitar work as you hear with the added leads and over writing on OWTC. Unfortunately the years of playing has taken its toll on my left or fret arm and I have been diagnosed with a severe level of tendonitis. Recording is not an issue because songs are broken up into small sections and I am still recording on the new release 'Portals to Canaan' but live is an issue.
"If I play for more then about 2 minutes straight I get an overwhelming amount of pain in my fret arm and can no longer put any pressure on the neck and have to stop. This in turn live would leave nothing for me to do if Corey is doing vocals and I need to be replaced on guitar. So what we have decided is I will be doing all vocals live but not playing guitar. Might be a bit weird but it's either that or quit which I do not want to do.
"On future releases I will still contribute to the writing process and recording so I won't be completely out of the loop as far as guitar work goes. Inevitably this means Corey will not be part of the current line. He put in a tremendous amount of effort on the lyrics for Portals to Canaan and will get writing credits in the release. We wish him the best with Flesh Consumed and all other future projects.
"This was a very difficult decision for me but I feel it is the only decision to move forward with Deeds of Flesh. I am trying to remedy the situation but we are planning on touring for the new release next year and didn't want this to be a surprise so thought this should be brought on now rather then later. Hit us up and let us know what you think."
Deeds of Flesh has posted the full cover artwork online for the upcoming "Portals to Canaan" album, which can be viewed below. The band also commented:
"As promised, here is the ablbum cover art by Raymond Swanland for our upcoming release 'Portals to Canaan.' Enjoy and Happy New Year everybody!!"
Deeds of Flesh has released a pre-production advanced teaser track of new material from the upcoming 2012 release "Portal to Canaan," which will see release on Unique Leader Records. Check out the video below. The band also commented on the clip:
"This is a pre-production teaser from the upcoming album Portal to Canaan (Unique Leader Records). This is only Guitar 1 and drum mapping (No 2nd guitar, leads or vocals) to give the fans an idea of whats to come."
Deeds of Flesh has issued the following announcement about parting ways with Sean Southern and recruiting new guitarist Craig Peters:
"Due to personal reasons Sean Southern has parted ways with Deeds of Flesh. He did a great job with us and we wish him the best in his future endeavors. We are very pleased to announce that Craig Peters (Arkaik) will be taking over as our lead guitarist. Craig is one of the top lead guitarist in the metal scene today in our opinion and has already been contributing in the writing process for 'Portal to Canaan.'
"He also will add another element by doing back up vocals. We also added vocalist and fifth member Corey Athos (Flesh Consumed) to the line up and will now be bringing a 3 person vocal assault to our sound adding a ton of range. Corey will be doing majority of the vocals but Craig and Erik will be much involved. We had Corey replace the original vocals on a couple songs off 'Of What's to Come' as well as a couple older tracks and they were perfect. We are all very excited to be working together and are anxious to get into the studio this summer to start recording 'Portals to Canaan,' proceeded by Deeds getting back out on the road."
The band's current lineup is as follows:
Erik Lindmark - Guitar/Vocals
Michael Hamilton - Drums
Erlened Caspersen - Bass
Craig Peters - Lead Guitar/Vocals
Corey Athos - Vocals
