Great White started as a standard lipstick and big hair glam band before evolving into one of the best blues hard rock bands of the eighties. Great White had amazing highs in the eighties, but nothing matches their tragic low in 2003. Today (as is the current trend with eighties bands) the lineup is a mess; with two bands touring as Great White. A made for Hollywood story from a band formed in Los Angeles. More...

Steven Adler (ex-Guns N’ Roses) is back with his new band named Adler and a new single titled “The One You Hated.” The band insists that the band is about a man/woman relationship and not what we all assume: heroin. Of course, I guess it could be about Axl Rose as well, or maybe the song is about Steven from the mindset of Celebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew. Either way you look at it, Steven has an impressive memory catalog to pull inspiration from… More...
According to Courthouse News Service, Great White singer Jack Russell plans to sue his former bandmates, who are continuing with their own version of the band, for trademark infringement and unfair competition. Among those Russell is suing are guitarist Mark Kendall, drummer Audie Desbrow, guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist Michael Lardie and talent agency Bigg Time Entertainment.
"In August of 2010, plaintiff was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery for a life threatening condition. While he recuperated from this surgery, other singers filled in for him during the band's live performances, however, it was undisputed that plaintiff's absence was temporary, and that he retained his position in the band's lineup and would resume singing with the band upon his recuperation," the federal complaint states.

Great White singer Jack Russell has told Dave Wedge of BostonHerald.com that he is still haunted by the Feb. 20, 2003, inferno at The Station in Warwick, Rhode Island. He's also reeling from a failed relationship and a raging substance-abuse problem.
"I'm a drug addict and an alcoholic, and I've been fighting those demons every day," Russell said. "I have this self-destruct button and I don't know where it comes from. I've talked to many, many therapists. It's a battle."
Russell and his band mates have tried to move beyond the horrific fire, but it's a burden they cannot escape. The singer has been criticized since the blaze for continuing to make music, getting a face-lift and not donating enough money to survivors.
"There's always someone out there that blames me because I'm the face of Great White," Russell said. "And I'm OK with that. We've tried to handle it as sympathetically as possible. But we've received literally thousands of e-mails from around the world telling us to keep going. I didn't realize how much positive influence I had on people's lives." More...

Frontiers Records has announced the European release of GREAT WHITE's brand new studio album “Rising” on March 13, 2009.
Long time members Jack Russell (vocals), Mark Kendall (lead guitar), Audie Desbrow (drums), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards) with new bassist Scott Snyder (ex RAMOS) have spent the last few months in the studio writing and recording new songs. “I think had we done this record back in the day it would hold up to anything we've ever done and also fit perfectly” says guitar player Mark Kendall. “When we make music with Jack singing and me playing guitar along with Michael Lardie, it's going to sound like Great White no matter what era.”
“The new album for me was extension of the affection we have for playing music together” says Michael Lardie, “I believe the songs are a bit more introspective true to life experience for us, not all the songs were written as we went into the studio, so I feel there is a freshness to the tracks as a result.”
According to singer Jack Russell, “The band is in great shape and everyone is excited about the new year. We can't wait to tour and play some of the new music live. Our new bass player Scott is a great guy who can really play. The stuff he wrote to our new music is awesome!”
Just like the previous album, "Rising", was mixed, produced, and engineered by Michael Lardie. The new cd rocks from start to finish and shows the band’s maturity in writing amazing Rock anthems, killer Blues numbers, melodic mid-tempos and heartfelt ballads.
Reunited heavy rockers Great White has announced that they are currently mixing their new album, which is entitled, "Rising." No word on a release date has been announced so far however.
The tracklisting is as follows:
"All Or Nothin'
"I Don't Mind"
"Is It Enough"
"Down On The Level"
"Only You Can Do"
"Let's Spend The Night Together"

Great White has agreed to pay $1 million to the victims' relatives and survivors of the tragic fire at the Rhode Island nightclub, The Station, which took the lives of 100 people in February of 2003. The settlement must meet the approval of more than 300 people who have filed suit and does not mean the band admits any wrongdoing in the tragic event.
The settlement, covered by Great White's insurer, would cover tour manager Daniel Biechele, lead singer Jack Russell, the record label, band members, manager, and management company of the band at the time of the fire.
Around $175 million has now been offered by dozens of defendants to settle lawsuits over the fire, including foam companies, the radio station that ran advertisements for the concert, the club owners and the local fire marshal who failed to cite the club for the foam on the walls and ceilings. Last month, the state of Rhode Island and the town of West Warwick each agreed to settle for $10 million.
