Great White Singer Jack Russell To Sue Former Bandmates

According to Courthouse News Service, Great White singer Jack Russell plans to sue his former bandmates, who are continuing with their own version of the band, for trademark infringement and unfair competition. Among those Russell is suing are guitarist Mark Kendall, drummer Audie Desbrow, guitarist/keyboardist/backing vocalist Michael Lardie and talent agency Bigg Time Entertainment.

"In August of 2010, plaintiff was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery for a life threatening condition. While he recuperated from this surgery, other singers filled in for him during the band's live performances, however, it was undisputed that plaintiff's absence was temporary, and that he retained his position in the band's lineup and would resume singing with the band upon his recuperation," the federal complaint states.

Considering his own incarnation of the band was to be called "Jack Russell's Great White", it's pretty apparent that he owns no rights to the band name and is just making a bid to save his long since faded career and/or bank account. Kinda pathetic actually, considering the band has actually been pretty active in his absence. Probably should have stayed off the booze and drugs, Jack. might have still had a job to go back to.

Sad that Jack Russell has sunk to these depths. I've always been a fan of Great White,and their songs but for him to come back,and sue his former bandmates is rediculous. All about the money,and yes he was partially to blame for the that Rhode Island nightclub burning down. I think Great White are better off without him,and will continue to make great new music with new lead singer Terry Ilous! Looking forward to the new album Elation!

great white was once a great band. the rhode island club fire deaths tarnished their legacy, and now this legal squabble is further diminishing the band name. my honest opinion is they should just stay in the past as a fond reminiscence.
