Imonolith Cancels European Tour Dates

Bad news for progressive metal fans in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe as Canada's Imonolith has announced that they have decided to cancel their scheduled tour of the continent. A message from the band reads as follows:

"To our fans in Europe and the UK. We are very sorry, but we will be canceling our 2023 Progressions Tour, starting in late January. We lost several shows due to a main promoter going bankrupt. Losing these shows makes it extremely difficult for us logistically and financially to complete this tour. We are working very hard to announce new dates in the first half of 2023. Please stay posted.

"We would like to apologise to everyone who has purchased tickets to see the tour and for the short notice of this news. All tickets will be refunded at ‘place of purchase’. Thanks as always for your support. Stay posted for new dates to be announced soon."

Imonolith To Release New Album In May

Imonolith, the band featuring drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project), vocalist Jon Howard (Threat Signal), guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy), guitarist Oswin Wong, and bassist Conan Freeman, has announced that they will be releasing their second album, "Progressions" this May. A message from the band reads as follows:

"We're super excited to announce that our second album, Progressions, will be out on May 20th, and you can hear parts of some of the songs from the album in this teaser video."

Ryan Van Poederooyen added:

"Imonolith's new album, Progressions, started out as a 5 song EP, and then grew into a full album's worth of material. The band's sound has progressed in many ways, and I thought the name Progressions suited the message we’re trying to convey with this album.

"This isn’t your typical album, though. The idea behind this album is to show how the band has progressed from our early demo days in 2015 - 2018 up to our current sound in 2022. We’ve become more versatile and, at times, more progressive in playing style, songwriting and musical direction. To put it simply, Progressions covers the musical history of who Imonolith was up to what we’ve become today.

"Thanks for the continued support. We can't wait to share this new record with you." More...

Imonolith Introduces New Members

All-star modern metal band Imonolith are back with new single "The Reign," featuring guest vocals from Meshuggah legend Jens Kidman. A remixed version of the track from their critically acclaimed debut album "State Of Being," "The Reign" will appear on the upcoming "Progressions" EP.

Watch the video to "The Reign" below.

Jens Kidman's appearance is a huge endorsement for Imonolith, as he’s only been featured as a guest artist once before.

Drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen commented: “We decided to take one of our most popular songs, ‘The Reign’ from our debut album, State of Being, and do a remix of it as part of our upcoming Progressions EP, being released in March 2022. We saw the potential of how an industrial-type remix could sound and we felt this song deserved to be a standalone single. ‘The Reign’ features guest vocals by the mighty, Jens Kidman from Meshuggah. He absolutely killed it on his performance and that is yet another big reason why we felt this song deserved its own release as a revamped single."

On the lyrics and production, Ryan continues: "The song is about how modern society tries to influence you and/or tells you how to live your life, when truly you should always do what you love and love what you do, not what others want. As for the production, Jason ‘JVP’ Van Poederooyen did a phenomenal job with the remix. It’s massive sounding and has a cool industrial twist to it. We’re all pumped on how this remix turned out!”

Imonolith are pleased to announce new members Oswin Wong (Threat Signal) on guitar and Conan Freeman (Punchdrunk) on bass. They replace Brian Waddell and Scott Whalen who have both decided to step down from touring. More...
