The band cites the murder of the legendary Dimebag Darrel that occured at the club in December 2005. "We find it in bad taste that the club is even still standing" says guitarist Shaun Glass. "I would be sick to my stomach to just walk into that place." Bassist Tim King continues "Maybe other bands can play the club and not be bothered by what happened in there, but as close as we were with Dime and the DAMAGEPLAN camp, we would be unable to get on that stage without breaking down. We hope our fans will understand and respect our decision."

Mushroomhead Beat Evanescense In Radio Battle
MUSHROOMHEAD will release its new album Savior Sorrow on September 19th, 2006. The band recently debuted its first single "Simple Survival" on several stations across the USA. At KRQR, it was a "David and Goliath" story of arguably the biggest commercial rock band in the USA going up against an arsty metal band. MUSHROOMHEAD's "Simple Survival" went up against EVANESCENCE's "Call Me When You're Sober" on KRQR's "Cockfight" on August 24th, which left MUSHROOMHEAD the clear winner and champ.
"It feels really good this time around. Radio seems to really dig it. And it's a new chapter in our evolution. There are sounds on this album that sound so melodic, yet brutal and huge. The album is quite diverse, yet retains a MUSHROOMHEAD dynamic," says drummer Skinny.
Savior Sorrow was produced by Steve Felton and MUSHROOMHEAD at Cleveland's Filthy Hands Studios in April 2006. MUSHROOMHEAD's prior release, XIII, entered the Billboard Top 200 at #40 and went on to sell 400,000 copies worldwide.

Mushroomhead Tap Award Winning Filmmaker
MUSHROOMHEAD has enlisted Award Winning Filmmaker and Music Video Director Chad Calek (BLEEDING THROUG, INDEX CASE) to direct the music video to "Simple Survival", the debut single from MUSHROOMHEAD's forthcoming "Savior Sorrow" release on Megaforce Records, slated to hit the shelves nationwide on September 19.
MUSHROOMHEAD and Calek joined forces shortly after Calek's controversial tell-all Slipknot/Des Moines, Iowa local music scene documentary, titled "A Clown Short of Destiny" (although many MySpacers have dubbed it the "SLIPKNOT FILM"), made national headlines after winning back-to-back Audience and Director's Choice awards for "Best Documentary" and "Best Music Documentary" at the New York Independent International Film Festival, as well as the Park City Film and Music Festival. This success prompted stories on "A Clown Short of Destiny" to appear on MTV.com, and in the June issue of Revolver Magazine, which featured the headline, "The Movie Slipknot Don't Want You To See!" on the cover. Currently, "A Clown Short of Destiny" is scheduling it's final film festival screening run for this fall.
Drummer Steve ‘Skinny’ Felton quipped, “With this record, we wanted to work with someone with a new perspective on MUSHROOMHEAD. Someone that could not only combine his own artistic edge with some of our ideas, but also someone that could really capture the true intensity of this band's live performance. Chad's a younger director than most, and he's got a lot of energy - which is exactly what we wanted. And after watching his reel and talking with him in detail, it was obvious that he was the right guy for the job”

MUSHROOMHEAD's follow-up to 2003's "XIII" (Republic/Universal) marks the group's recording debut with singer Waylon, who replaced frontman J. Mann in 2004.
"Waylon brings a new dimension to the band [he's] not only a great frontman, but he can also scream and sing like a chameleon, changing vocal quality to adapt to the true nature of each song," Felton said. "His versatility is remarkable."
The album's first single will hit radio in mid-August. The band will begin a world tour starting September 12, 2006.

New Mushroomhead Album Video Preview Available
Cleveland, Ohio's MUSHROOMHEAD are scheduled to release their sixth studio album on June 6 via Filthy Hands/Megaforce. The album's projected first single, "Watch Me Go", is expected in May. A video preview for the new CD can be seen here.
MUSHROOMHEAD's follow-up to 2003's "XIII" (Republic/Universal) will mark the group's recording debut with singer Waylon, who replaced frontman J. Mann in 2004.
With regards to the upcoming CD, MUSHROOMHEAD drummer-producer Steve "Skinny" Felton told the Cleveland Scene in December, "It's all over the map. A lot of people who've heard it think of the first album, mixed with a little bit of 'XIII'. It's a harsh contrast between songs. There's some brutal, brutal, sick stuff, like old-school HATRIX or LAMB OF GOD. And with Waylon able to sing so well, there's some more melodic stuff going on. The one thing Waylon doesn't do that J. did is rap."
The disc will be mastered by Bill Korecky (INTEGRITY) at Mars Studios. Felton said the band plans to release versions of the disc with eight different covers, one designed by each member.
