Mushroomhead Sign With Megaforce Records

MUSHROOMHEAD have reportedly inked a brand-new deal with Megaforce Records. The group's follow-up to 2003's "XIII" (Republic/Universal) is tentatively expected in early 2006.

MUSHROOMHEAD are continuing to play headline shows with their new vocalist Waylon, replacing J-Mann, who left the band late last year. Remaining dates for 2005 are as follows:

Dec. 09 - Orono, ME - Ushuaia
Dec. 10 - Southbridge, MA - The Mill
Dec. 13 - Davenport, IA - Quad City Live
Dec. 14 - Milwaukee, WI - The Eagles Club
Dec. 15 - Mokena, IL - The Pearl Room
Dec. 16 - Battle Creek, MI - Planet Rock
Dec. 17 - Flint, MI - The Machine Shop

MUSHROOMHEAD released their first DVD, "Volume 1", in August via the band's The Filthy Hands Company label.

This is good news. I think the band is reinvigorated after picking up Waylon. The band was horribly screwed over by Universal...and Megaforce is known as a band-friendly label. The band has better vision for itself than any record label could ever have...so I will be eagerly awaiting the new record and any tour that follows. This is an incredibly creative band that deserves a ton more exposure than they have been afforded.

Whenever I hear Megaforce, I don't even think of the bad 80s movie so much as I think of the bad Atari 2600 game adaptation of the bad 80s movie!

i gota say i like this band because they make metal bordering on nu-metal but making other bands like they arch nemisis slipknot look like a bunch untalented posers.

War Ensemble, you got a point there...I still think They should've been at least nominated for a Grammy* for "Solitaire/Unraveling" from their "XX" album

why, oh why, do i agree with deathbringer (post 4). man, i once owned an atari, and screw me stiffless did it suck - course, i thought it was the epitomy of cool at the time (mind you, i was about five years old).

anyhew, to mushroomhead - wasn't xeroxed a good song? i enjoyed it thoroughly. still do. brilliance. it saddened me a bit to see Jann leave (it was Jann, yeah? the singer, anyhow). i look forward to seeing what the new vocalist can bring to this band, especially lyrically; i always thought mushroomhead lyrics were inspiring and creative.
