Meadows End Posts Final "Sojourn" Track

We've reached the end - Meadows End today posts the final track in the month-by-month "Sojourn" series. The band commetns:

"It is with a mix of melancholy, joy, nostalgia and sweet relief that we finally are able to present the final piece of the Sojourn puzzle.

"A long year has finally passed. It has been a great year with a lot of expectations and a lot more work than expected from the beginning, but we are extremely happy with the result. To be able to release our young years like this means a lot to us. We really hope you have enjoyed this release as much as we have.

"So to end Sojourn: track XII - 'My Leading Command.'

"We wish you all a happy new year with more music, merch and giveaways! Thanks to all of you who have EVER supported us, to Oscar at Crehate Studios, to Fredrik Burholm for artwork and Ed 'Infidel Amsterdam' and of course all other youtubers that helps spreading our name and music to the world." Meadows End Parts With Guitarist

Swedish outfit Meadows End just issued the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Rikard Öqvist:

"We're sad to announce that Rikard has decided to leave Meadows End. He feels that his PhD studies and current life situation does not give him the spare time needed to fulfill his duty in Meadows End. The decision is entirely Riks, and the rest of us can and will do nothing but support him in his decision.

"Rik is one of the, or even perhaps THE, most diverse and talented musicians that we have ever had the opportunity to play with in Meadows End. He's also an amazing guy with a great personality and when he contacted us to let us know he was interested in the lead guitarist spot, we did not hesitate or even consider anyone else.

"We will lose an amazing guitarist but we'll forever have an amazing friend (and tour driver?! ;)). He will be surely missed and it will probably show on future creations as we can remember his remarkable solos, his Chapman Stick on Insurrection, his violin on Heathens' Embrace and the orchestrations on Clench the Feet of Fools just to name a few... Meadows End Streaming "Soulslain"

Meadows End has now unleashed the fifth track in the monthly "Sojourn" series - check out "Soulslain" below. The band also comments:

"Song number 5 in the 'Sojourn' saga bears a special emotional and nostalgic mark in the history of Meadows End. The year was 2001, the enthusiasm and drive was lost. Our two main songwriters JD and Henrik Näslund, our keyboard player at the time, was focusing on their studies.

"Drummer Daniel Nordlund had already lost interest and left the band. Vocalist Anders Rödin became unsure if he wanted to continue at all.

"Everything was falling behind and Meadows End was about to dissolve. After a while Hel got frustrated that nothing happened and told that he would leave the band as well. That's when the warning bells rang that this project that we all cared so much for would fall into nothingness.

"We decided it was time to gather and talk things through. We all felt that this was too good and too much fun to just throw away. Fortunately we had some cool riffs lying around and during a weekend with acoustic guitars, a piano and our good company we wrote 'Soulslain.'

"So this song always reminds us of how much this band really matters to us, of all the fun we have together and the joy of writing and playing music together that we appreciate ourselves.

"Then and there we learned a lot. Don't quit, believe in what you do and most of all, don't forget to have fun." More...

Meadows End To Release One Track Per Month

After releasing full-length album "The Sufferwell" earlier this year (listen to a track at this location), Sweden's Meadows End will be following in the footsteps of StarofAsh and releasing one track each month throughout the coming year.

The band comments: "So fellow fans and friends! Time for a little insight on the project we're currently working on!

"If everything goes as planned, the idea goes as follows - we have 12 songs that we've wanted to record for some time now and we feel that now is the perfect time to do so.

"The idea is to release one song on our YouTube channel each month during 2015, starting with January 31st. When the last song is released on December 31st, all will be released as a limited release album, all depending on demands of course.

"Things and plans might change during the course but we'll keep you updated all the time! Project name and content will be released in due time.

"And as if this was NOT ENOUGH! We have started working on new material as well and we already have basic ideas and structures for eight new songs and more will of course come! We will work on these songs in parallel and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, our next album might be out during 2016.

"Remember! You guys rule. It is because of you we aim to do this, let's just hope we are able to pull it off. \m/ Devilspeed and have a great weekend! Let's get to work!"
