New Overkill Album Title And Artwork Revealed

New York thrash legends Overkill announced that the band's follow up to "Ironbound" will be entitled "The Electric Age." The album is scheduled for release on March 27, 2012 (North America) through eOne Music and March 30, 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records.

In an interview with Jürgen Tschamler on EMP Merchandising's website, Overkill frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth had the following comments on the release: "Our new album is called, 'The Electric Age' and of course it's still exciting to record a new album. I think the key is knowing who you are and to know also how to create new things and not lose your roots."

Song titles for the album include "Electric Rattlesnake," "Wish You Were Dead," "Drop the Hammer" and "Save Yourself."

"Monsters Of Metal - Vol. 8" Release Pushed Back

The release date for the upcoming compilation “Monsters of Metal - Vol. 8” on DVD/Blu-Ray with 90 music videos and over 400 minutes of pure metal is postponed until March 16th, 2012.

The compilation includes two DVDs and one Blu-ray with clips from bands like Nightwish, Edguy, Dimmu Borgir, Amorphis, Hammerfall, Accept, Blind Guardian, Avantasia, Deathstars, Monster Magnet, Leaves' Eyes, Tristania, Nevermore, Lacuna Coil, Arch Enemy, Machine Head, Opeth and more.

System Divide Comments On Killfest 2 Shows

System Divide will return to the U.S. once again for Killfest 2, supporting the mighty Overkill in 2012. Also on the tour are Belphegor, Aborted, Blackguard, and Diamond Plate. After the Overkill dates finish on May 12th, System Divide will journey north of the border to Canada for a string of dates.

Vocalist Sven DeCaluwe adds, "We couldn’t be more excited to be on this run with Overkill, we just finished a few dates in Europe which was a blast and are currently busy writing new material which we will display on the Overkill run. We had a killer time touring the states this year with Eluveitie and later the Hottest Chicks in hard rock tour with In This Moment and simply can’t want to get back out there, I hope all the people that got to check us out on previous tours will come out and rock out again because frankly, we got quite some surprises for you!! We are truly honored to go out on the road with such legends as Overkill and the rest of the bill is going to blow some minds!"

American thrash metal legends Overkill have announced that they will be embarking on a headlining tour of the United States in April of next year, in what is being dubbed Killfest 2. The veterans will be joined on the trek by Belphegor, Aborted, Blackguard, System Divide and Diamond Plate.

Hell and Heaven Fest Lineup Announced

MEGADETH is confirmed to play the Hell and Heaven Metal Fest in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday, November 19, 2011. The Hell And Heaven Metal Fest is currently the only open air metal festival in Mexico. The festival had its first edition in October 2010 with three stages and 40 bands. The festival is dedicated to metal, but tries to balance genres such as heavy, glam, metalcore, thrash, speed, death, black and industrial metal.

This year the promoters expect to have a 20,000 audience and have confirmed 57 bands on four stages. The full line-up for the festival is as follows:

Tristania Headed To Mexico For Festival

Tristania bass player Ole Vistnes has checked in with the following announcement about the band playing the "Heaven and Hell" fest in Mexico:

"Tristania join forces with Megadeth to make November's 'Hell and Heaven Fest' in Guadalajara, Mexico a festival to remember.

"Mexico has an important place in all the Tristania members hearts. We're always made feel very welcome in Mexico, and although we played there only a few months ago, we're absolutely delighted to being able to return for the Hell and Heaven Fest.

"And of course it's an honour to share the stage with Megadeth. Tristania will play at the 'Hell and Heaven Fest' on November 19th. Confirmed bands until now are Megadeth, Tristania, Overkill, Kataklysm and Destruction."

Testament Reveals New Album Title

American thrash metal legends Testament have revealed that the name of their forthcoming new studio album, the follow up to 2008's hugely successful, "The Formation Of Damnation," will be "The Dark Roots Of Earth." The album is currently being recorded with producer Andy Sneap (the Sabbat guitarist who has also produced for the likes of Megadeth, Onslaught and Arch Enemy) and is expected to be released this October through Nuclear Blast Records.

In other news, Testament frontman Chuck Billy revealed in a recent interview that the band is planning to embark on a tour this year with three other big names of American thrash, namely Anthrax, Death Angel, and Overkill. Cypherseer Comments On Show With Overkill

Cypherseeer has announced that the band will be playing at the Best Buy Theater in New York City on April 16th with Overkill. Also on the bill are Accept and Sabaton. Cypherseer's new album "Origins" comes out four days earlier on April 12th via Nightmare Band founder Sergio Ribeiro spoke about playing with live with Overkill:

"Playing with Overkill (our fellow Jersians) is an absolute honor! We are all huge Overkill fans and I can personally tell you, that I have never missed a show when they are in the neighborhood, so for us to be in the same bill as them, is a dream come true. It's going to be a brutally epic show."
