Oddland Releases "Unknown" Video
Finnish progressive metal outfit Oddland has issued a newly-filmed video this week, ahead of the band's European tour with label mates Wolverine and Until Rain, which kicks off this Wednesday.
Oddland's new video was filmed and edited by Ville Viitanen for a brand new acoustic version of "Unknown," which initially appeared in a fully heavy/electric version of the band's second album, "Origin," released in September 2016 through Laser's Edge division Sensory Records.
Issues the band on this acoustic version of the song: "We've been fiddling around with acoustics every now and then and really fell in love with the idea of making an acoustic version of a song on Origin. 'Unknown' seemed the most fitting candidate, and luckily, we were able to book the beautiful medieval castle of our hometown Turku to record this performance. It was really the perfect choice with the haunting ambience and enchantingly echoing stone walls." More...
Oddland Releases "Will" Video
A brand new lyric video from Finnish progressive metal outfit Oddland has been issued today, following the recent release of the band's intense second album, "Origin," through Sensory Records earlier this month.
Oddland comments: "We wanted to bring 'Will' to the forefront for the lyric video because the text in the song hits base with all of us talking about a broken connection between generations. Ville did a great job with the video and it beautifully showcases some of the exquisite artwork on the album by Mohammed Essam. The song itself is a bipolar monster with at least a couple of heads so we thought the composition deserved to be brought to the forefront as well."
The band is currently booking live performances in support of "Origin," with a record release show confirmed to take place on October 7th in Turku, a show supporting Ne Obliviscaris on October 12th in Helsinki, and more to be announced shortly.

Oddland Announces "Origin" Album
Sensory Records has confirmed the street date and other official release info for "Origin," the intense label debut album by Finnish progressive metal legion Oddland.
Oddland's second album, "Origin" was partly recorded by the band, the rest captured at Fantom Studio (Insomnium, Korpiklaani, Oranssi Pazuzu) after which it was mixed and mastered by Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir).
Containing over forty-five minutes of music, the album bears a theme which ties deeply into the lyrics and extensive artwork, with a separate piece of art created by Egyptian artist Mohammed Essam for each of the nine songs.
"We didn't really know what was in store when we started writing songs for 'Origin,'" issues the band. "Creating this album took us way longer than we first imagined. We had an initial vision of what we wanted 'Origin' to be, but it really took time to get there. Every song went through an endless set of revisions before they were finished. We feel have expanded and evolved Oddland's sound with 'Origin:' it is low and it is heavy, but the rhythms and melodies are still what carry the songs. Lyrically the album is tied together by the idea that the lyrics represent our origin: what has made us what we are - individually and collectively. Mohammad really contributed into making the ideas and atmospheres of the songs come to life visually. We can't wait for people to experience the album."
Laser's Edge subdivision Sensory Records will release "Origin" worldwide on September 9th. More expansive previews of the album will be presented through audio and visual samples in the weeks leading to its unveiling. More...

Oddland Posts Guitar Playthrough Video
Finland's Oddland has just launched a guitar play through for the track "Lines Of Silver Blood." The band comments:
"We decided to do the guitar play-through on this song because it probably has some of the most technical guitar parts of the album. We figured people might be interested to see how they´re played. The live guitar tracks were recorded on top of the album version, and Ville (our drummer) was in charge of shooting and editing the whole thing. Have a look, won't you!"
This is the first play through that the band has launched from current album "Treachery Of Senses." The video of guitarists Sakari Ojanen & Jussi Poikonen playing along with "Lines Of Silver Blood" can be seen here: More...

Oddland Comments On Upcoming Album
Finnish act Oddland, which recently signed on with Century Media Records, is set to release "The Treachery Of Senses" on April 30th, 2012 (EU) and May 8th, 2012 (North America).
After spending months writing new material, the band is very excited to get the record out to fans. "This record was long in the making, as most of the tracks were already composed when we got signed by CM, but even the older songs evolved a lot during pre-production. We feel that in the end we succeeded in making a great record as a whole, rather than just a collection of individual songs," says Sakari Ojanen (vocals / guitar). "Working with Dan Swanö was very satisfactory-- he really helped us attain the sound we were after. Also worth mentioning is the contribution of Samu Oittinen at Fantom Studios, who helped us nail the organic sound we wanted for the raw tracks. We feel there isn't too much of this kind of music out there so hopefully 'The Treachery Of Senses' won't go unnoticed. In the end, we couldn't be happier with the outcome-- we feel we made a killer debut album." More...
