Suicide Silence Sets Up Kenadee Lucker Education Fund

Band Photo: Suicide Silence (?)
Suicide Silence's vocalist Mitch Lucker died last week after an alcohol-related motorcycle crash. Mitch is survived by his wife and daughter, and the band has now announced a fund is being set up for his daughter's education. Suicide Silence comments:
"An official site has now been set up with all donations put toward Kenadee Lucker's Education Fund. Anyone who donates $20 or more will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Anyone who donates $5 or more will have their name added to a tribute page coming soon on SuicideSilence.net.
"Please spread this link around so that fans wanting to contribute can do so officially and not lose money to unauthorized bootleggers who may be selling shirts for their own profit."
Fans can donate to the fund at Facebook or through the band's official website. Footage from the candlelight vigil held for Mitch can also be viewed below.

I confess I was in shock when I heard the news of the death of Mitch, but I'm tired of it already. People die every day, every hour, family men who left behind their children too. I've lost loved ones also, went through pain, but I moved on and I'm fine now. No, I'm not being cold-hearted, I'm all for helping those in need which isn't the case. Here near where I live are raising money for the treatment of a little boy with leukemia, it's a good cause which I insist to put my money in. I'm sure that Mitch's daughter live in a comfortable home, in good health, has food every day, plenty of toys to play and cutesy clothes to wear. And her mother and family are able to work to ensure a good education for her.

i live on main st where the wreck happened and i felt sorry for him and his family but to see it was alcohol related .I lost twin sisters to a drunk driver i have a hard time feeling sorry for people who drink and drive. I know that sound bad but I do feel sorry for his family and sorry they have to go through this tragic time.

This is beyond stupid, not only is he rich, they're milking his name for more money, cool.
Also, did you notice, "alcohol-related"? He was drunk.
He was an irresponsible person, do you see every family who has lost someone driving drunk getting paid donations for nothing? No, and why? Because that's stupid.
He endangered others' lives when he decided to drive drunk, he deserves nothing but to be forgotten.

Mitch made a mistake, we all know this. I do feel for his family and friends, I'm not sure that this donation thing is exactly the way to go, I do think they meant good but maybe didn't put enough thought into it.
As far as comment #5 goes, that last comment you made was cold and in bad taste,
It amazes me how people can make those kind of comments and feel good about it.

Why should I trust money on his wife's hands!? She's a b**** who cheated on him with a guy from a Canadian band. This "donation fund" proves what she really is: an opportunist. She is taking advantage of the death of her husband to suck money until the last drop over his name. She wants the money to spend on clothes, shoes, handbags and jewelry. Did she consider getting a job!? How sad and despicable attitude on her part.

I didn't like Suicide Silence at all, and Lucker didn't deserve to die (despite him being a imbecile and hopping on a f***ing bike while intoxicated), but just because he died, people think the family should receive money? People do die every single day, many like he did, and you don't see anyone aside from family and friends giving a f***. This is stupid.
Well, I for one dont have an issue with this one.
The man was only 28, a young man and a young father.
He's gone now and left a young daughter behind.
I can understand this one quite easily.
Lots of these "Donation funds" do suck big time though.
Like the one Deftones set up for Chi... ridiculous. Deftones has sold some +20mil and they're setting up a fund to raise some money?
And btw, Deftones IS one of my fav bands.
the donation fund is kind of ridiculous...people die all over the world every day but we aren't asked to pay for their kids education. I won't speculate on mr. lucker's net worth before he shuffled of this mortal coil but as a father to a young daughter I feel badly for the wife and child he left behind. I have no idea how my wife and kid would manage without me.
That said, he made a very poor decision to get drunk and then go motorcycle riding. A lot of you young kids will say hey man thats rock and roll....but someone who has a kid should know when to use good judgement vs. when to be a party animal. I enjoy my cold beverages as much as the next guy but I realize that I am responsible for a kid so I have to be more responsible with my own choices.

Wow, I'm a suicide silence fan so it's obvious I'd feel sad about him not makin anymore music. And I agree with Meagan just because it says alcohol related doesn't mean Mitch was at fault. No one knows the real story I guess. Either way the fact that this is basically being debated on is stupid. Yes drinking and driving is Completely retarded and regardless how his wife is I'm pretty damn sure the other band members would make sure the money is put in. Trust fund. Also if people want to buy suicide silence gear and their money goes to donations let them do whatever they want. Some of the merchandise you can't buy at hot topic or Spencer's so hell why not?

The guy died, it's sad and that I understand. Now make a donation fund to raise money for the education of his daughter!? I think this is totally unnecessary and abusive. Honestly, I see it as a way of the kid's mother get easy money using the name of the deceased husband. There are millions of kids in dire situations, hungry, sick and without a chance to attend school. Sorry, but I just donate my hard-earned money to true and worthy causes.
