ES: the ones HH mentioned. their other albums were mainly self released or are just bad quality anyways. even tho i have some lol
HH: they only did one after XIII, called savior sorrow. pretty damn good too. of course i'm a lil bias.
korndog: they're MUSIC is absolutely NOTHING alike, which is what's rlly important. their music's much more experimental and industrial-influenced.

These "Slipknot wanna-be's" have been going strong since before Slipknot really ever got going. Slipknot just got far more popular much faster than Mushroomhead did, is all.
Both bands are capable of making outstanding music, as the past has shown, and both bands can put on amazing shows (granted that I've only been to one MH show + their one set at Ozzfest), but they both make completely different sounds.
So.... wanna-be's is the furthest thing, in the end.

metallx: Well, that explains the delay in the release then. I know he laid tracks with them. Fvcking contract disputes suck my crank. Still stoked for the album though since talking with Jeff and Waylon.
KD: metallx is correct. It would be closer to the truth to say that sh!tknot is a wannabe Mushroomhead band because the people at Roadrunner hijacked the idea from MH and applied it to sh!tknot. In addition, Mushroomhead has a hell of a lot more talent than sh!tknot will ever have.
ES: I'd suggest XIII as a good starting point for you my friend.

No reason to call names son! My bad, I had heard about slipknot way before these guys. So I figured they had copied off the masks. Either way these guys suck in my opinion. And I was aware that their music styles are totally different. Just talking about the stupid outfits they where!

KD: Listen to Solitaire Unravveling, The New Cult King and Kill Tomorrow (in any order). Then come back and tell me what you think of them. A lot of people who say they "never got into them" haven't really heard enough of them to make an informed decision. Remember what happened with Mastodon's "Crack the Skye"? ;-)
ES: On second thought, you should try XX first. I forgot about your passion for the prog side of metal.

aahhhh, Mushroomhead vs Slipknot, I feel like I'm twelve years old again lol. Mushroomhead did release music I think it's like three years before Slipknot did, but they were self released albums that barely saw the light of day, and during the time they were recording their self titled debut Slipknot was doing countless local shows, and searching for the right band members, which may be the reason their self titled debut album is still one of my favourite ever albums, it was perfect.
There is no way in proving which band came first, but who cares they both have some amazing stuff.
I also heard that J Mann was going to be features on this album, but maybe one of his 300 side projects got in the way again?

The previous title was better but I 'spose it's the music within that matters
I was excited when they said the album was coming out LAST year. Not quite as excited because they made us wait, but still excited.
