System of a Down Reunion is hinted by Shavo Odadjia

System of a Down has not released an album since 2006 with their fifth studio release "Hypnotize." Shortly after, the band announced a "hiatus" on their website. Serj Tankian pursued a solo career in 2007's "Elect the Dead," and guitarist Daron Malakian collaborated with the drummer John Dolmayan for a more electronic sounding "Scars On Broadway."
On January 11, bassist Shavo Odadjia announced via twiiter "Are u guys ready for System???" This seems like the natural choice since almost all of the band members pursued some form of solo album, like KISS did, before they got back together.

what the hell is up with all of this tease? Are they getting back together or what? Stop beating around the bush and just spill it. I love system of a down because that was the gateway that got me into metal. without them, I would be listening to probably lady ga ga right about now :P

RTB: Just barely. We had a great show man. A friend of mine has been working his a$$ off on a new Death Metal project and they played their first gig with us at the show. They fvcking slay man. They're called "Our Daily Trespasses". We're going to book more shows with those guys. Their material complimented ours and we kept the place packed all night.

Posts 11 and 13, speak for yourselves. I haven't missed System one bit since they decided to roll around in money for a few years (read: BROKE UP) and I could care less if they all vanished from the face of the earth. Last time I listened to SOAD, I couldn't believe how badly their music has aged. I don't miss them at all, and if they reunite, I wouldn't take a ticket to a show or a CD if it was free. But of course they're going to do it, it's too lucrative to pass up! I'd listen to At The Gates' WORST album before I even thought of listening to System's best (?) even though saying SOAD has a "best" album is like saying you have a favorite broken bone or a favorite viral infection. Kinda like if you had cancer. And then you found out your cancer also has AIDS. Shavo can take his bald, bass-player a$$ back to his mansion and keep fingerbangin his own a$$ to the care package NAMBLA sent him. Jeez, System, just fall off already! Or, better yet, tour with Soundgarden! That way, everyone on he planet can STAY THE f*** HOME AND DO SOMETHING BETTER WITH THEIR TIME/EARS/MONEY.

I personally got to see SOAD live in 2005, in Toronto, ON. it was on the Tour with bad acid trip and mars volta. now I will say before i post that im a fan of a lot of metal.. but these openers were terrible.. just bad. bad acid trip was as far from tight as a live band can be (really lazy playing), and Mars volta decided to freestyle with the singer screaming on the top of his lungs for about an hour. (it was like listening to a cocaine overdose). then after waiting out these 2 horrible bands, finally got to hear system live. how was it? Serj was a semi-tone flat for essentially the whole show, and the guitarist was really sloppy. so yeah.. don't miss em.

I was never a huge fan of these guys. They have some good songs, but the deal breaker for me is, they just dont have staying power with me at all. I cant go back and listen to any of their old cd's, im just not interested. Just as I am not interested now to hear about a reunion....

OMG I want System back SOOO badly...
I'm younger, so I didn't really get to enjoy SOAD while they were still together (even though they're not really apart—we gotta remember that, people). We need a breath of fresh air from all this new stuff. We need System of a Down. I love their music, and so does the rest of the world. Besides, it's been, like, four years. Isn't that long enough? I definately think so.
Scars on Broadway is good. And Serj being solo isn't all that bad, either, but let's face it: System is a bajillion times better.
COME ON, SYSTEM!! WE NEED YOU!! SOAD4LIFE.!

By the way, if you were a real System fan, you wouldn't give up on them.
And to all you people b*tchin' about them: if you don't like System FINE that's your problem, but you don't have to go complaining and being a bunch of d*cks around the fans. We don't wanna put up with your sh*t. If you don't like 'em, THEN DON'T LISTEN TO THEM OR SAY ANYTHING. We have enough sh*t going on in our lives, we don't wanna have to put up with you f*ckballs' sh** either.
Phew. Had to get that off my chest.

I dont want tohear another word about this sh** until they are actually in the f***ing studio.
I'm tired of rumors and hearsay, all they get me is crushed hopes and expectations. I want System back as much as the next guy, but I dont need my f***ing hair going gray over something as stupid as hoping a band gets back together.
No offense to any of the writers, just tired of this sh**.
