Slipknot Posts "Snuff" Short Movie Online

Band Photo: Slipknot (?)
Slipknot have posted a new video online for the song "Snuff," which has been described as more of a short movie than a music video. The clip premiered at Noisecreep but you can check it out below. This is the fourth song from Slipknot's latest album, "All Hope Is Gone" to be released as a single, following "Psychosocial," "Dead Memories" and "Sulfur."

What a horrible video
It didn't even make sense!
The song itself is really beautiful, even though it's not very Slipknot, or Metal, (though Slipknot stopped being metal a while ago...) I'm surprised that they would take a song that's really open to such personal interpretation and ruin it like that.

my god some peole just have too much damn time on their hands. and others think they are creative geniuses. slipknot needs to f***ing stop. get a playstation or somethign because you guys lost your creativeness that once made you great. f***ing move on already! i was once a hardcore slipknot fan and now i am seriously disappointed in these hacks! i am not proud to be a maggot anymore!

Double post i sux
Forgot to add that this corey s 2nd worst performance i can think of........
The worst was jagermeister tour 2003 cleveland ohio during a group s set he run s out on the stage butt naked with only his mask on and a sock covering his d!ck, does a 3 or 4 second little dance and runs off...which is actually caught on chiamaira s dvd that was released in 04......brutal

That was kickass! The song is great, and that just added some twisted meaning to it. Its alot better than any music videos now a days, me personally am tired of watching a band play on top of a building or in a dark room, or some abandoned warehouse. I think all videos should be mini movies. Just my opinion.
26. writes:
i think this may be more corey tha nslipkont since you do not see any of the band at all. seems like the term art now days is what is used when somethign is crap but you dont want to offend anyone. well f*** anyone who gets offended this is not art. this was corey bored and wantignng to drag slipkot further away from what they once represented because hes a d***!

KORNDOGG, its ok to get emotional but not because a damn broad left you bro. get some balls. i can see if you broke your favorite axe or your comaro gets stolen or slipknot stopped being slipknot. but drinking usualy gets you through those hard situations that only time can heal. its called medicating yourself. it is the american way. 99% of all americans are on some kind of medication. no one wants to walk the hard road with their feet tied to the ground. why did slipknot have to lose their balls?

38. writes:
@ Blindgreed- whats up man? Ive been on hiatus, lol. Im back around now. Try to be a lil less of a prick this time round. lol. Hope all is well with you and ur band.
@Agent47- sorry for calling you a loser right off the bat, but it pisses me off when people think if a man shows emotion in a song, life, ect. that he has no balls. I agree with you that evryone needs to medicate when goin through hard times. I myself drink like a fish. lol. Maybe writing slower music or songs is what coreys doin to medicate whatever pain he has? Or maybe it is about the money. Either way this is a damn good song lyrically and could also mean so many different things. But thats my opinion.
39. writes:
i never said anthing against the song. the video is lame and i hate that slipknot wants to do stone sour stuff. i mean what the f*** why is he crossing the boundry of both bands. slipknot always stood for controlled chaos and rage. not crossdressing to hold on to some broad. they were not meant to be musical when i bought into them. dumb people say i am an a$$hole for not giving them the chance to grow and try new things. i say f*** that stay true to what you started and that is why they all have other bands. the latest album by slipsour is not what they were when i tattooed my leg with their emblem. they need to get back to being slipknot or quit. stop dragging their fans over to stone sour, f***head corey!
40. writes:
oh and KORNDOGG, rage is an emotion. cryng for a broad is for p***ies! are you a p***y or a man who goes out there and eats p***y? no woman wants a p***y, they want a man that can give them security and make them feel safe and there is no whining if you want ot make that happen. f*** slipsour!
43. writes:
Blindgreed- what i meant was ill try not to be such a prick this time. lol. No agent47, thats not me in that add. lol. And let me tell you that i eat p***y and aint no p***y, but have been a lil emotional over a chick. Not so much anymore. The older i get i tend to let sh** be. But again thats me. And i will agree that stone sour and slipknot should remain seperated. I love stone sour, liked a couple slipknot records but was never a huge fan of them or a band that wears masks.

Afraid to show emotion? That reminds me of the closest queers who act like they're total homophobes. Let your emotion out (my opinion)...if you don't you might as well start preparing for cancer and all the other fun DIS-eases that come to you when you bottle up your bodies natural actions. I'm not saying go hug your dude friends and cry to them, but for f*** sakes let it out somehow. lol I tried the holding it in and abusing alcohol...and took anti-depressants...so yeah I have a good idea of what I'm talking about here. Don't try and supress natural emotions to seem like "more of a man"

red foreman is the man. you guys need to take some lessons. you know red foreman from that 70's show? you guys are all going to be crying on each others shoulders when the muslim uprising starts and they smack you around liek a beatch! foreman- hed take the whoopin and then ask for more. we should all strive to be like him.
47. writes:
Post 44, good points. I agree 100% with you.
Agent47- After post 45, im starting to regret taking back that loser comment. What the f*** are you talking about? I could cry on someones shoulder, then turn around and whoop a dudes a$$ for saying something about it. Just because people cry, get mad, show different emotions. That takes nothin away from my manhood son! I could give a f*** less about someone half the time, im on a short f***ing fuse. But im also not scared or ashamed to let sh** out when I need to, in a angry way or what you would call a "p***y" way! Depends on situation- for instance if someone close to me dies, Ill f***en cry like a baby, have had many friends and family pass. If a girl was to leave me, Id be angry and sad. But I would pull through. The only thing that i consider p***y is suicide. Thats a b**** way out, and i have had many friends take that way out and i still feel that way. You need a lesson about what a real man is.

KORDOGG: I think we can agree to be a$$holes to eachother in a kinder gentler way. That's about all I can promise. What can I say? I'm a fvcking pr!ck. My personal feeling about this song and MUSIC VIDEO (not a short film), is that I don't care for it. It's an attempt to be more radio friendly and mainstream MTV crap. I also believe this is the last hoorah for sh!tknot and for that I am thankful. I have never respected them as musicians and I never will. The only thing I can credit them for is planting a seed in the minds of the kids to look for better metal and eventually cary the torch. I realize that the lyrics speak to you in a way that you appriciate, but I just don't think is mastery of any stretch of the imagination. Mastery in lyrics is well evidenced by Mastodon's latest Crack The Skye. If you haven't checked it out yet, give it a shot and really listen to the lyrics and the way that they play off the score. Sh!tknot will never reach that level of musical accomplishment in their wildest dreams.

AGENT: Sorry buddy, beating on a trash can with a bat doesn't constitute musical genius to me regardless of when it's being done. I like a few off Iowa and there's a few more here and there that I don't hate, but kicka$$? NO. Korn had a few that were good as well. They're kind of in the same sinking ship for me.

AGENT: If you want to see a talented "masked" band, go see Mushroomhead. They blow sh!tknots live show into the weeds AND the singers can actually hit the notes live. All of their percussion is done for sound, not show. And yes, there is a HUGE difference between a drum and a trash can. Can you tune a trash can? As far as i'm concerned, trash cans are for putting trash into which makes the fact that sh!tknot using one for their music that much more fitting which is more than I can say about your XXS jock strap. It's STILL too big for your junk. lolz.
62. writes:
yeah mushroomhead is good but not as heavy. i can tune a trashcan by putting different levels of liquid in it. i di not notice the musing that trashcan very much, thye just hit it a few times during a few songs and i thought it worked. i am not trying to defend them as a musicaly good band in fact because they have been getting musical they now are disappointing. but they do have a unique sound and i really dug it. the energy and chaos just really hit home for me. they have nothing on say lamb of god for musical ability. slipknot is not just a band for me but a perspective of something inside me and so far they are the only ones who have been able to embody that. hey man to each their own. i greatly respect your musical point of view and you have turned me on to the best metal in my library. just want to say you can bag on slipknot all you want i will not hold it against you man. all i ask is dont lose respect for me because i like them alot.
63. writes:
AGENT: Mushroomhead has some VERY heavy stuff man. Xeroxed, Brain Hemmorhage, 1200, Solitaire Unraveling - all heavy as fvck. Their next one is supposed to be the heaviest to date too so keep an eye out for it. Oz likes Limp Bizkit and I still respect him, so why would your aversion to sh!tknot be any different? It's all good brother. BTW, putting water in a trash can will cange the sound it makes when you hit it (and possibly spash some sh!tty water on you) but it won't tune it. Tuning is a means of achieving correct musical pitch, I could be wrong but I don't believe that a trash can has a correct musical pitch. lol.

Blindgreed- Agree to disagree on this song. I did take your advice and checked out mastadons crack the skye. I got two opinions on it. The first one is its actually really good, I like some of the lyrics. Very talented musicians. Songs i liked off it was crack the skye, and ghost of karelia. My other opinion on it is that I didnt like the long intros, the almost growling singing in some spots. And the stuff about czars and dragons and that kind of sh** i dont care for. But overall I was a little suprised i actually enjoyed some of it. Thanks for the recommendation.

i really like the new mudvayne too but not sure yet if i like it more that new game. all around as a whole new game is my favorite mudvayne album not including the new one. i have not gotten to listen to all the new one yet but it kicks a$$ so far. today is definitely lamb of god day for me.
72. writes:
^LOL. A cat for effect, classic. I didnt care for new game a whole lot. I mean i still liked it but it wasnt great. I hate to sound like every one else who always thinks the first album of any band is their best, but with mudvayne, ld 50 was a f***ING "masterpiece". From start to stop. Off the metal news i am also enjoying blue octobers new album and breaking benjamins new one. Call breaking benjamin what you will, but damn are they good. And getting better each album. Blue october is more slow, sick and twisted pop rock in a way. If you have never heard them, check em out. Not metal and not for everyone but they are extremely dark.
73. writes:
good to see everyone is getting along here haha, yes we slipknot have changed, this may be one of their biggest songs for the public eye but for metal and the fans that loved self title and iowa so much this album is not what we wanted slipknot to become.. but they have i just think this video is not the best work they could of done...

Damn I'm so tired of all these morons complaining at how "soft" slipknot is, and at how they've "changed so much since 99." Anybody who has been following them along the path knows, that they're the same 9 guys, that are just as f***ing crazy as they used to be, but they physically can't do what they did at the turn of the century. See, as a college kid you go and and pull all nighters at partys and have keggers and all that fun sh**. You then grow up, and mature to the point where you physically couldn't do that all the time, but enjoy it from time to time. Slipknot have obviously matured, and i think it's still crazy for anybody to call them mainstream. They get publicity because they practically created nu-metal (which may not be the best branch of the music we all love, but is still amazing) and they deserve some respect for it. So anybody who talks sh** about one of the greatest bands in the history of metal, needs to get over them selves and realise that without the Self Titled, and Iowa they're favourite bands wouldn't be around today. Kind of like Six Feet Under with Graveyard Classics 2, when they cover all ac/dc. You wouldn't think of ac/dc as heavy anymore but they were.
Not liking the video though it seems to Stone Sour-ish to me.
& Merry Fvckin Chritmas to all you bastards \m/
75. writes:
yawn: Actually, Korn more or less created nu-metal, years before Slipknot ventured into that territory. Slipknot's first album, the ultra-rare "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat." (I can never remember the order of the first two words, so I may have them backwards) was actually more like a funk/metal hybrid with sprinkles of heavy, churning riffs. And honestly, Slipknot haven't been around long enough to be influencing a lot of "great bands" (I don't know what you consider great and what you don't, but if you consider Slipknot "one of the greatest bands in the history of metal" like your post suggests, I'm sure we'll disagree on this point). If Slipknot simply weren't around to start with, I'm sure the world of music wouldn't be affected much, if at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Slipknot's older material, but I wouldn't say they're a strong influence on music today.
Your lesson for the day is done. Go, teach, young grasshopper.

Looking back on my previous comment i was in a bit of a rage, got some bad news on Christmas Eve and then saw this sh**ty video so my apologies if i offended anybody. Sodom, I see where you're coming from and i do agree that the best music is behind us. I consider myself a guy who listens to a huge variety of music, varying from King Krimson to Testament to Cannibal Corpse to Bruce Springsteen, with everything in between. But I have followed Slipknot and come to respect them more then almost any other Metal band around today. I guess in my rage i stretched it to "one of the greatest bands in the history of metal" lol. But i do think they have a huge influence on music today considering the respect they have earned from guys like Rob Flynn, Mikael Akerfeldt, and Matt Heafy who are known for being musically. talented.

Yeah, that was a bit cheesy. I'm not completely clear on what happened there. (I could study the video closely to find out, but I probably won't.) Was he just hanging out in his ex's house while she was gone, or is it implying that he somehow killed her and then put on her clothes?

alright... i'm getting rlly tired of having to deffend bands that i'm not even THAT huge on lol but slipknot is just selling out in the same way that metallica. all they've done is stray away from their origins but who doesn't?? and those who don't "evolve" or change, just suck imo kuz i just cannot stand a band that every single song and/or album sounds like the same sh**. slipknot has NOT gone mainstream and/or "MTV sounding".the just got big them after iowa kuz they WERE good. the crap that was vol.3 was what started the sh**storm for me and they did start loosing alotta fans and anyone can tell just by this vry article and all the comments, they've lost alotta fans. as for the claiming by BG1 that they mite just trying to being mainstream "MTV", ummm, idk when the hell they've EVER been played on nonetheless even appeared on mtv besides mtv2's headbanger's ball. last time i checked, the "MTV generation" were to busy calling bands like slipknot and a7x "satanic" and mislabeling them "emo" or just plain "weird" and listening to f***ing n*****s rhyming like dr. seuse over a beat some other n***** did and NOW the lastest trend, using "auto-tuning" crap too. i was born into the wrong generation >.>
84. writes:
Nothing: That is my point. This is an attempt into the MTV market (not necessarily prime time) which i'll agree is over run with disgusting pop and rap (especially prime time), but this video is more MTV "friendly" than anything they've ever done previously. I'm going to have to agree with you about being born in the wrong generation though. You're values reek of old school metal. lolz. \m/\m/

Wolf: It's my understanding that you will need 1) a 2 lb metalurgy hammer. 2) a vice. 3) an anvil. 4) a red hot poker. 5) a bucket of ice water and 6) a lot of petroleum jelly. Once you have assembled all of these items let me know and I'll walk you through it. Lolz. I have a number of friends who like Sh!tknot. You either embrace it or you don't.

BG1, by the sound of it, I think I will have to pass on this kind recommendation as well. But, I thank you.
Perhaps some sort of meditation would work? Like repeating "I do not like Slipknot" a thousand times while being whipped, hopefully by a young lady wearing either a leather or a PVC costume?
If I can arrange that, I will certainly let you all know!

lol wolf fair enough! well u definately need ur ears for messugah and mastadon\m/ so perhaps shoving feces in ur ears to block that the sh** sound that is slipsour out will help. i mean i rather smear feces in my ears, its really the equivalent. but atleast the poop smearing is fun :P

All Hope is Gone is the first Slipknot record that I have liked and I did buy it.
It took me ten years to not hate Slipknot, and I still can barely tolerate the early stuff they released. For every kid crying sell-out, there is a new fan for the band that likes the more "mature" sound of the new album.
People= um...FECES!
96. writes:
The problem is "almost every band does this". Some call it selling out or going mainstream. I dont 100 percent disagree with that. But everytime a band makes a slower song or album. People are suprised? why? You know its coming. 95% of bands do this! Whether its them growing up or changing their style, or maybe it is selling out. Ive just learned to embrace the bands I like, and even when they change I give it a chance. I say f*** what other people think. Ive had to put up with it with metallica, mudvayne, korn, ect. But I just open my views a little and enjoy. Korn-korn was one of the sickest albums of all time along with mudvaynes ld-50. Now their latest attempts sound nothing like them, but its still good music to me.
Now playing- Mudvayne-beyond the pale

Why's everyone hating on the video? Maybe Malcom appreciated the art and story behind it, so that's why he was involved. I gotta be honest, the video was not what I expected and I rejected the idea at first but now I like it's creepy 'wtf' vibe it gives off. Slipknot hasn't lost their touch at all. I've always liked them because they take everything to a whole other level with the thought, idea and feeling of their work. They go "too far". Judging people's reaction to Corey dressing up as a "fa**ot", it looks like they did just fine. You just don't expect that and when something like that catches me off guard to where I get a closed mind from it (like most of the people rejecting it here), I admire it instead of b**** about it.
