Band Photo: Marilyn Manson (?)
Former Marilyn Manson bassist Brad Stewart (stage named Gidget Gein) was found dead in his home earlier this week. No official cause of death has been announced, but friends of Stewart stated it was from a drug overdose. Stewart was fired from Marilyn Manson due to drug absue issues, being replaced by Twiggy Ramirez, and also recently did a stint in rehab.

If this were the bassist to say, Avenged Sevenfold or Aiden or some other equally gay band, then I might have said something scathing or mean, or downright crude. Seeing how it's just the bassist to MM, I don't really have anything against somebody who was a part of "Antichrist Superstar", that album really helped me into metal, and if you listen to it, it's not really bad music, and the band isn't trying to be something they aren't, so it's hard for me to just outright say i hate manson or anybody in his band. I don' think there's anything easily accusational to say about this band other than the fact that they were weird. but then again, so is Black Metal, so whatever.
RIP I guess?

I have nothing against drugs - just the idiots who use them. No, not even that. Just the idiots who use them so frequently that to get high they need to take so much that they OD. Cheers guys, way to give the rest of us casual users a bad name! Goddamn addicts. Actually, that said, I am against some drugs, those harder ones like Crystal Meth, Heroin, Ice, all that dumb sh**. The negative consequences of those drugs overpower the trip anyway.
What ever happened to love and anger being the source of creative muse?

Well, the article says that there is no 'official' cause of his death...but friends from Stewart stated it was from drug overdose. It's believable that he would die of an overdose, I mean, it's not like I knew the guy, but I just think it's a sad way to die. A life is a life: R.I.P.

No it doesnt. I drink all the time..... But i said habit, not addict, or alcoholic. I just said most people who use drugs have a bad habit, most are addicted, but some arent. I did alot of drugs, but now am totally against them, just my opinion. But my point was just that everyone has problems, and when you can deal with them sober, then you have accomplished something. But when you OD, you are a retard
27. writes:
Well again KORNDOGG you have to be careful with what you say,
a) if you meant habit and not addiction, then why did habit need four exclamation marks? Why would you emphasize habit so much if it wasn't a negative thing?
b) "I just said most people who use drugs have a bad habit" - umm no now you've injected the word "bad" into the sentence, so bad habit = addiction, as opposed to a normal habit?
c) "most people who use drugs have a bad habit" - meh, I'd disagree. Most people who do highly addictive drugs yes, but drugs in general (which includes alcohol, caffine etc), that depends on the effect in their life.
30. writes:
I also want everyone to know that while I drink ALOT, I don't drive. One reason is that I am not a safe driver while sober, but the number one reason is that I am a drunk. I love to drink, but I will be damned if my drinking is going to mean the life of someone else!
31. writes:
I think there are actually a lot of people out there who can use drugs sensibly. I do them maybe once a year IF there's a good enough occasion - I certainly wouldn't call that a habit. I have a great time when I do them, but I don't feel the need to do them again and again until it forms a habit, until I become addicted. I don't smoke cigarettes, don't drink coffee, I do drink a lot of alcohol, but I'm growing tired of it, and will probably stop drinking soon (after my 21st in a week or two, most likely). I even prefer healthy food to greasy or sugar-filled stuff...
But that's just me. Nothing against drugs, just against those who misuse them. That includes fat people that eat too much McDonalds, by the way. I'm not just talking speed and ecstacy :P
"everyone has problems, and when you can deal with them sober, then you have accomplished something" - this I agree with.
35. writes:
Drugs are fun. Odds are he didn't intentionally overdose and he most likely DIDN'T have it coming. I'm an avid stoner, but does that mean I am categorized with all these other heavy addicts? I can deal with my problems on my own without any crutch and I have done so for last 18 years.
"most people who use drugs have a bad habit"
....dot dot dot dot. Most people who stereotype have nothing constructive or relevant to add.
Kalis: "I drink like a fish, but I don't forsee me being the type to die of alcohol poisoning"
In all fairness, you couldn't entirely rule out that possibility right? I mean odds are this guy probably thought he was invincible too and look where he ended up...then again everyone's tolerance level is different. I've smoked pot every night for the last two weeks, does that make me an addict? I don't feel like an addict
I also agree with everyone's view on the harder more man made drugs i.e. cocaine heroine etc.
"STFU jake. Drugs can kill - that is the point."
Guns can kill. Dogs can kill. Landslides can kill. Sunlight can kill. Oxygen can kill. Should I avoid all of those?

Bristowe, it is imparative to monitor ones drinking. First clue its time to put the bottle down is when one begins to feel sick. Perhaps one day I might understand why stars across the board (movie, t.v, music, artist... you get the idea) think they are invicable. For now I think that it has to do with the ego that is given to them when so many do not remind them that they are humans.

watching a cannibal corpse dvd right now, all about their history. I know you don't like them, but it's crazy seeing all the other bands that they had ties to. it's also opening my eyes to how big the florida death metal scene is and has been over the years. Gives me optimism for my own ideas lol
Suffocation, Death, morbid Angel, Cynic, Atheist, Obituary, monstrosity, nevermore, Six feet under(duh) crazy when u think about it. CC has almost as big of a fellow genre connection under it's belt as napalm death did over in Britain.
72. writes:
Understandable, after all, that's what they're shootin for, the whole shock factor, so obviosly, if some people aren't offended, then they suck at what they're doing. :p
This one girl I hang out with though, i took her to a metal concert, took her moshing, and now she loves Metal with a passion, when before the concert, she listened to pop music and Slipknot. Now, her favorite bands are CC and Deicide, simply for how brutal and offensive they are. She took the lyrics to Necropedophile to school and read them to her classmates and scared the sh** out of half her friends who now thinks she crazy lol
74. writes:
Yeah Cynic it is. I'm not really that big of a fan of CC, but i was always interested in their impact on the genre, so it was an obvious check-out. it has like seven hours of footage spanning their whole history. it's kinda funny, they kept stealing band members from Monstrosity and malevolent Creation and then getting rid of them for more permanent members.
and yeah, the members of Cynic keep popping up with little comments throughout the dvd, along with Brendan small, Gene hoglan, Nile, Hate Eternal, and a bunch of others i can't remember right now haha

Alright! What the fvck is going on here!? I swear someone who works for CBS is following me around! They have NCIS, where they have a chick named Abby who frikin looks just like me and we have simmilar personalities. THEN they got a new show right after it with a chick named Elizabeth, who can kick your arse! Where is my royalty checks biotches?! Hahaha!

I don't watch anything other than the Late Late show with Craig furguson and BBC news. I actually cancelled my cable service because those programs come on channels 2 and 4, so it was a waste of money haha. I just use the internet for everything else. :p I'll check it out on youtube, although, technically, i don't actually know what you look like besides the couple pictures you've had on your gayspace lol.
and yeah cynic so far it's well worth the money. I haven't even gotten to the concert footage and bonus material yet! 7 HOURS OF FOOTAGE IN ALL. wtf.

Yep spot on FAN I'm a big Cynic fan - www dot myspace.com/cyniconline is their official one (currently) although it's a huge mess, they've got a million "official" sites and myspaces at the moment due to the reunion turning into a new album. They only have new tracks up though (which I'm avoiding til the album comes out!).

Cynic, as a woman I would have to say this. Punani is punani. If she is REALLY worth it then go for her, but if she is replaceable then go with the job. If I may ask, why must you choose? Location comes first in my mind, but I could be wrong.
F.A.N, we should be pimps together! *LOL*

Well it's not as black and white as bristowe (haha sh** hope she never reads this) but yep you're right on it's location. I'm hoping I get forced into one of the jobs by fate so I don't have to choose. I guess I'm young I shouldn't worry... Manowar will cheer me up.

I don't mean to correct anybody and sound like an "arrogant American pig" or whatnot, but actually Brad Stewart (Gein) wasn't actually on any of Manson's CDs, he was kicked out before Portrait of an American Family was even recorded.
But anyway, I don't really care that much for Manson anymore, but like most people, Manson is what started to get me into metal when I was younger. R.I.P. man.

I think its a damn shame he's dead, i've seen a few interviews with him post manson and he seemed like a genuinly nice guy who could have done great things in music if he's been a bit more lucky earlier in his career. As for all the people saying he was a junkie so he brought it on himself, ask yourselves this; who are you to condemn the guy for using heroin? How many of you smoke/drink/eat junk food etc? Almost everything we do nowadays is supposedly bad for us and yet people still do them, but everyone deserves their escape. Yes Heroin is addictive and can kill you, but the guy could afford it, didnt rob old ladies or steal cars to fund his habit, he simply chose to spend his well earned money on it because he enjoyed it.
Oh no heroin is illegal...so f***ing what, he wasnt hurting anyone, heroin is only illegal because the countries that grow it are places like afganistahn which America doesnt want getting rich off of drugs. Alcohol is just as bad, if you drink to much at once, you can die, people can get addicted, its kills far more people on a yearly basis than heroin does. I think its such bullsh** that people say stupid sh** like "oh he Od'd well thats his fault for being a junkie", or, "he died of cancer? well he shouldnt have smoked all his life..idiot" yet if someone dies in a car accident you dont hear "oh well he should have been walking..everyone knows that you risk being in a car accident when you drive anywhere".
The point is everything has its risks, if people choose to take those risks without harming others then how can you have a problem with it?
oh and for some of the people who commented at the top; gidget wasnt a founding member, he replace Olivia newton bundy, and neither did he record on Antichrist superstar, he was with them on portrait and left before the video for sweet dreams was made because Twiggy is on that instead.

Tooting cats are fairly rare. The last tooter I had was ChooChoo some 35 years ago. She was my first cat. I remember going to the auction with my dad as a tot. He bid on her for who knows why since he didn't ever seem to like her. Anyway, that cat would run in from one end of the house, fart on us, then run to the other end! We pinched our noses and named her ChooChoo. She was a good cat.

Cats are very intelligent creatures. They sense unordinary things, are easily amused with almost anything, and most of all, they clean up after themselves. Talk about great manners!

Man, How this sucks! I first got into Manson during '96 when "Antichrist" was on shelves. As I progressively became much more knowlegeable on the history of Marilyn Manson, I began to understand and appreciate many of the band's former members. One in particular, of course, being Brad 'Gidget Gein' Stewart. I own a good collection of bootleg VHS tapes and DVDs consisting of, both, performances and interviews with Gidget Gien. He and Manson had such chemistry on stage. Even off stage, Manson would think up some crazy gag and Gein would be the one to follow trough with the madness. It saddens me to think that his initial drug use resulted in his termination from Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. It depresses me to think that his recent drug use resulted in his termination from life. Many times I have talked to Manson fans like myself and one thing we always touched upon was how great it would be to have a Spooky Kids reunion. Just for a tour or so, but nonetheless, a reunion of the Spooky Kids at there best and grace the world with all of their pre-Portait of an American Family hits. Well, all I can hope for now is that Bradley Stewart can now rest in peace. Thank you so much for your influence. Rest easy, Gidget....rest easy.
