No Guns N' Roses Reunion With Slash, Duff

A representative for GUNS N' ROSES frontman Axl Rose has shot down persistent rumors that former GNR members Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan are in talks with Rose about taking part in a "reunion" tour this summer. The rumors gained strength a couple of days ago when unconfirmed reports surfaced that Slash had picked up his gear from VELVET REVOLVER's rehearsal studios after allegedly announcing that he was leaving the band.
Rumors of trouble in the VELVET REVOLVER camp have been swirling around the group for the past few months, with several reports suggesting that much of the strife between Slash and the rest of the camp stems from Slash's wife Perla's alleged involvement in the band's business affairs. The situation allegedly came to a head last week after an attempt was made by attorneys to mediate in matters related to the lawsuits filed by Slash, Duff and Axl over the rights to the old GNR songs.
Slash and Duff, who left GNR in the 1990s and are joined in VELVET REVOLVER by ex-GNR drummer Matt Sorum and former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland, had filed suits in 2004 and 2005 seeking the rights to the early GNR material, accusing Rose of killing deals that would have put their songs in a half-dozen movies, including "Old School" and "Black Hawk Down". Rose filed a counterclaim last month asking a Federal Court to confirm his ownership of his "creative works" and defending his decision to choose when to license the music and to whom.
At press time, there has been no official comment from the VELVET REVOLVER camp regarding any of the rumors currently making the rounds. It is also not presently clear if VELVET REVOLVER will go ahead with their previously announced plans to enter the studio on April 10 to begin recording the follow-up to their double-platinum 2004 debut, "Contraband".

eddie is real- i was just wondering, are you hating on guns n roses and poison because you think it makes you more hardcore or whatever? slash is one of best guitarists around, and you cant deny his ability. but anyway sticking to the subject this is bullsh**, slash's wife needs to keep her nose where it belongs and out of the bands business. i for one will be truly p***ed if slash has left velvet revolver, because while i love guns n roses, slashs riffs and solos in velvet revolver were a lot better than most of his guns n roses material and velvet revolver will have a very hard time replacing him, if they even keep going. while not the best band at ozzfest 05 (Houston) VR put on the best show hands down.

Meh....Wasn't impressed with Contraband myself.....
Tons of potential and nothing more than a few signature styles slathered on some 4/4 ho-hum stuff....
Nothing epic.
Nothing classic.
Nothing memorable...
Just so-so stuff from guys who should be making music history. Sad. All the luck to em, but I don't anticipate picking up VR's next album either.

Ok well I love STP GNR and VR and I think it would be sooo kick @$$ if they all got together..but like that would happen....I feel bad 4 Axl but he brought it on himself and Scott is awsome...I didn't really read the thingy up at top but I just wanted to post this....VR is awsome..and I have heard that ppl 4rm STP are going to join the band but idk!!! And I like Poison and Bryan Adams...not that you care but all well ....and Slash is the best guitar player ever!!!!!!!!! And about the argument between scott and axl...Axl is just p***ed cuz Scott like took his band...and they could all be one f**cking awsome band 2gether BUT.....well thats my opinion on some things if anyone cares and...wel..yeah...

i have but a few remarks to make. 1. i was not aware that numbers could be substituted for letters and silables. 2. although i hate gnr and could care less about vr, i do think slash is one of the best modren ax-men. and 3. i really hope axl eventualy loses or at least is forced to share control of the gnr song book. the rest of the band should have control over their work too.

Its weird to me that most people dont seem to care that Slash and Axl pretty much hate each other and don't really want to do this...I saw SoundGarden toward the end of the band and the show sucked because they visibly did not want to be there...Its like 'I know you hate your marriage but I like you as a couple so f*** how you feel about it...'
Hell, Axl is KNOWN for walking out on shows and causing riots and people still will pay to see him...I just don't get it...

i love guns n roses and velvet revolver...i mean yes axl was or still is a complete a$$ hole but i think if they could sort out there problems and stop with the f**king court cases and law suits then they could become good friends again and hopefully have a reunion......they've all made mistakes been fa**ots..it time they put that in the past!!

I f***en hate how people harp on about Slashs skills as a guitarist, he is totally overated. Fo example I learnt Sweet Child O' Mine in 2 days yet I can't play more than 10 seconds of any Necrophagist song. He uses cheap rock guitar tricks. I can understand people thinking he writes catchy music or something but he's not that talented in the scale of things.

Listen here you little F*cks if it werent for Axl getting the band together in the first place and geffen records taking a chance on them maybe there wouldnt be no Velvet Revolver. Dont get me wrong I like both bands very well. But I grew up listening to GUNS N ROSES and they are hands down alot f*cking better than VR. Oh and from Axl to Scott Get in the ring you no talented f*cker. What the hell you call that dance you do in the Slither video anyway. Yeah Axl danced and stuff but damn it wasnt that corny.

none of you know anything about guns n roses or axl rose. ur all off ur heads on all the mediated crap thats been churned out by snivelling capitalist reporters and media "tycoons". it's all bull! the media NEVER tells the truth. the media is just one big lie factory. and most people are stupid enough to believe all the crap they say. i pity those people.

GnR f*ckin rocks. if it hadnt been for the original lineup of GnR, then VR wouldnt even exist now. plus anyone wud be f*ckin stupid not to realise that GnR sold millions and millions of records and they did a record breaking world tour that lasted 2+ years, and that hasnt been topped yet!

THIS IS ALL TRUE ! THE PROBLEM IS IT'S ALL TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO WHAT'S HAPPENNING WITH GNR RIGHT NOW ! AND THE FACT THAT IT'S ALL AXL'S FAULT.Now say it with me .... You'll like it .... It's impowering ...... FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKK AAAAXXXXLLLL WWWW RRRROOOOSSSSEEEE !!!!!!!

It was Axl's fault for being a controlling little b****, that led to their breakup...
Anyway, its over, and All Axl's talk about "Chinese Democracy" is bullsh**...If not bullsh**, it will definitely suck without Slash's skills...

i was searching for some old classics the other day on limewire, and found a song claiming to be off an album called "Chinese Democracy" - i thought it was odd, and knew i'd heard the term SOMEWHERE before. now i remember where. i'm a little misgiven to the idea that anything's been leaked just yet, so i think it was probly some "cool" kid naming an unrelated file stupidly for no real reason. didnt actually download it, though, so who knows?

YEAH,
f****! all of these retards talkin all this S*** about GNR, they don't even know how to wipe their a$$ first of all and secondly REALLY... just make some F***in research before you go sayin' some S***, save yourself the humiliation, oh and for the record Axl is no longer out of shape, he looks like the old Axl.

I would love to see a GNR reunion, but I believe Slash when he says that there would have to be a very serious agreement between Axl, himself, and the rest of the band. It just doesn't seem likely. GnR are the greatest band ever, though, and Slash is most definitely God.
And I remember seeing someone trashing him earlier. And just because Sweet Child O' Mine has an easy opening riff, that doesn't prevent it from being an incredibly song. Just because you can't play something that Necrophage wrote (whoever the f*** they are), doesn't mean they are in any way better than GnR. No one can play like Slash, because his stuff is truly unique. There are plenty of jaded guitarists who think that you have to play hyper-fast or act like a spaz to be great. What's the point. Anyone can write and play a song faster and harder than yours. Slash rocked. It's not the same.

Looks like Axl is more successful at undoing everything that Gnr has ever acomplished than his own dying efforts with a new Gnr line up and his Chinese Democracy project. Slash needs to ditch his wife and stick with the groupies. This isn't the first time that Perla interupted the bands business afairs. Slash also was sued by his publicist because of Perla getting involved in his business. Looks like we have another Yoko to contend with. If Slash does leave VR, I hope he dosen't start up another sh*tty line up of Slash's Snake Pit!
