Dragony Welcomes New Member Into The Band
Austrian symphonic power metal band Dragony has announced that longtime collaborator Maria Nesh has joined the band as a full time member. A statement from the band reads as follows:
"Mighty Dragoons! On the heels of the announcement of our big European tour in January 2026 with Ensiferum and Freedom Call, Dragony promised you some more news, and here they are: Their long-time collaborator and frequent special guest vocalist for their live shows, Maria Nesh (Red Eye Temple), is joining Dragony as a full-time member starting with the January tour! As you know, touring can sometimes pose considerable challenges for bands, especially when it comes to scheduling; and so they made the decision to switch to a two-singer lineup in Dragony, to enable them to not only expand their musical scope by adding an additional female voice, but to also do more shows and tours than before. This means that starting with the tour in January, Dragony live shows will generally feature both singers, except in instances where one singer can't make it for scheduling or work-related reasons, in which case such shows will be performed solo by the other singer.
Please help the band to welcome Maria into the band as a full-time member, and get your tickets now for the upcoming tour with Ensiferum and Freedom Call."
Maria Nesh adds: "After playing with Dragony many times over the past years, it's going to be fun to be working with them on a full-time basis and to perform even more shows with Dragony in the future. I am also looking forward to working on new music in the studio with the guys, and maybe there will be some exciting news to be shared in this regard very soon. For now, I'm happy to be Dragony's new 'Valkyrie' and look forward to the big European tour in January! See you on the Road to Valhalla!"

Original Tigertailz Drummer Passes Away Aged 64
Stephen Finchum, better known to fans as Ace Finchum, has passed away at the age of sixty four. A message from Tigertailz guitarist reads as follows:
"I’m devastated to hear that our original Tigertailz drummer, Ace Finchum, has passed away. From the chaos of ‘Young & Crazy’ to the fire of ‘Bezerk’, we lived those moments like our lives depended on it — and maybe they did.
"Those two albums shaped the glam metal zeitgeist; they shaped who we were and everything we stood for.
Ace was the heartbeat behind it all: wild, funny, unpredictable, and always full of spirit. Those days, that laughter, that noise — they’ll stay with me forever.
"Peace at last mate. But our music, our memories, and the love from the Tailz fans will keep your flame burning forever."
Finchum began his career with Crash KO before joining Tigertailz in 1984. He would spend seven years with the band, releasing the albums "Young & Crazy," "Bezerk" and "Banzai!" before leaving in 1991. He would join the ranks of other British heavy metal cult favourites such as Angel Witch and Tokyo Blade, before returning to Tigertailz in 2011 until 2013, during which time he also spent a spell behind the kit for Marseille. Howling Giant Debuts "Hunter's Mark" Video
Howling Giant has presented the video clip "Hunter's Mark" as the final advance single taken from the cosmic stoner metal outfit's forthcoming album "Crucible & Ruin." The third full-length by the Nashville, Tennessee band has been chalked up for release on October 31, 2025. You can check out the video below.
"While our previous member James was in the band, we wrote 'Hunter's Mark' as one of the first songs with him," drummer and vocalist Zach Wheeler reveals. "We were working in our friend Drew Harakal's studio in Texas and Tom and James came up with that harmonized verse riff. We instantly knew that we had a slamming track on our hands. I tend to play around with my drum setup when writing, so I set up a second ride cymbal on my left hand side for a little extra flavor in the verses. We loved working with Willy from Polar Desert Studios on the 'Aluminum Crown' video a while back. So we brought him back to create a static animation 2D/3D model blended video to accompany this track. Enjoy!" More...

Testament Thrashes With Titans In Bristol
Metal fans have always talked about their beloved genre with a sense of belonging and brotherhood. It's something which can sound very corny and many times, doesn't seem to ring true. However, in the world of thrash metal, especially
nowadays, there's definitely more truth to this claim than in other areas. Frequently, when a thrash band heads out on tour, they'll bring fellow veterans with them, with Exodus's tour with Exumer and Hirax last year being one such example. This Autumn, Europe will experience a huge display of such camaraderie in the form of "Thrash Of The Titans," co-headlined by Testament and death metal stalwarts Obituary, while also featuring thrash metal flag bearers Destruction and Nervosa on what promises to be one of the tours of the year. Having kicked off in Hanover, the four bands made their way across the Channel to come to Britain, with their first stop being the Beacon, formerly the Colston Hall, in the south western city of Bristol.
Opening the show was Nervosa, marking what I believe to be my sixth time seeing them. Ten years ago, I conducted my first in person interview with their then vocalist Fernanda Lira at their first UK gig supporting Cryptopsy and Brujeria, so in addition to being a fan, I've always had a soft spot for them and have enjoyed seeing them grow as a band. Their latest album, "Jailbreak," showcased perhaps their most focused material yet and few would argue that guitarist Helena Kotina has breathed fire into their sound, helping to really beef up their sound. This was evident for everyone to hear as soon as the band ripped into the opening number, "Seed Of Death," which landed like a gut punch from Tyson Fury.
From then on, the quartet continued to fiercely shake the Beacon awake with more cuts from the aforementioned "Jailbreak" album, including "Behind The Wall" and the title track, which all sounded superb. They're clearly very proud of the record, and rightfully so, but it was nice to hear material from previous albums too, including "Kill The Silence" from "Downfall Of Mankind," and two helpings from "Perpetual Chaos," in the form of the title track and "Venomous." Nervosa seemed to be having a lot of fun and so were the crowd, including a man in full Elmo costume taking part in the pit and crowd surfing. The audience let out a sad groan when vocalist/guitarist Prika Amaral announced that they had one more song left, namely "Endless Ambition," and the band delivered a final sonic assault before ending their set. As I mentioned, I've been following Nervosa since their first album and I daresay that this was the best performance I've seen from them yet. More...

As I Lay Dying Premiere New Single & Music Video
As I Lay Dying have officially entered a new era with the release of their comeback single, “Echoes.” The track arrives in the wake of yet another turbulent chapter for the Californian metalcore outfit — and particularly for their controversial frontman, Tim Lambesis.
Last November saw the band’s lineup collapse for a second time, with former members citing Lambesis’ behavior as the catalyst behind their departure. Undeterred by the allegations and upheaval, Lambesis pledged to rebuild As I Lay Dying once again, with “Echoes” serving as the first glimpse of that renewed effort. This single arrives independently via the band, emerging a few weeks ahead of their live return, which will commence towards the end of this month in Moscow, Russia.
According to the songwriting credits, the latest roster of musicians who joined Lambesis in the studio to bring this song to life includes: More...
