WFAHM Accuses Attila Of Stealing Song

The new Attila album "Chaos" is here, and War From A Harlots Mouth isn't too pleased about it, accusing the band of blatantly lifting a segment from the track "If You Want To Blame Us For Something Wrong, Please Abuse This Song."

War From A Harlots Mouth comments: "The undoubtedly most mentally challenged band on planet earth, Attila, blatantly ripped us off. Not that I'm surprised that these imbeciles can't write music of their own, but unfortunately for them, they picked one of our most widely known songs: 'If You Want to Blame Us...' Losers."

The two songs in question can be heard below, and while there are major differences, there is one segment in particular between the two songs that is intensely similar. What do you think - coincidence due to musical similarities, or blatant rip-off? More...

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 37

We’re still accepting submissions for our ticket giveaway contests through Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live this month - for Attila (supported by Crown The Empire and Like Moths To Flame) next Friday, November 14th, and for The Ghost Inside (supported by Every Time I Die and Architects) on Sunday, November 30th. If interested, submit your full name (matching your ID) to podcast@metalunderground.com, with one of the headlining bands in the subject line.

This week, we showcase the songs “Left For Dead” and “3 Ring” by Louisville, KY rapcore outfit Corprit Convict, which co-hosts Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) and Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) chalk up to a politically charged, raw, low-budget incarnation of Otep. Then Mike plugs the new album “As The World Burns” from Pitch Black Forecast, an underground side project of vocalist Jason “J-Mann” Popson (Mushroomhead) and drummer Gene Hoglan (Testament, etc.). The album contains guest appearances from Devin Townsend, Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), and M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), and is out now on Ferocious Records.

The big news of the week is, of course, the untimely death of industrial metal entertainer Wayne Static (ex-Static-X) last Saturday, November 1st. Stay tuned for a full round of discussion not only on the circumstances of Static’s passing, but on his career and musical legacy as well.

Listen in here, enjoy, and subscribe via iTunes and RSS feed.

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 36

In addition to the upcoming Attila show at Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live on Friday, November 14th (supported by Crown The Empire and Like Moths To Flames), we at the MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast are now staging another ticket giveaway contest through the same venue: The Ghost Inside (supported by Every Time I Die and Architects) on Sunday, November 30th. If interested, submit your full name matching your ID to podcast@metalunderground.com with one of the headlining bands in the subject line.

This week, we’re proud to present music from Boston, Massachusetts all-purpose metal act Skull Hammer, a formidable “power trio” that incorporates all forms of classic metal from hard rock to power metal, from speed metal to thrash. The band released the EP “Fear The Truth” in 2008 and the full-length “Pay It In Blood” in 2010, and are currently preparing a second album.

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 35

In addition to the upcoming Attila show at Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live on Friday, November 14th (supported by Crown The Empire and Like Moths To Flames), we at the MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast are now staging another ticket giveaway contest through the same venue: The Ghost Inside (supported by Every Time I Die and Architects) on Sunday, November 30th. If interested, submit your full name matching your ID to podcast@metalunderground.com with one of the headlining bands in the subject line.

We launch this week’s episode with the song “These Empty Skies” from Keychain, a melodic hard rock five-piece based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The band formed in Novi Sad, Serbia, in 2009 covering songs by Godsmack, Shinedown, and (hold your tongue) Nickelback. After a disbandment and reformation, Keychain is currently working on a full-length original studio album.

Then co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) reports on his adventures this week on the road. He joined members of Lynchburg, Virginia metallers Mourn The Illusion on a whirlwind trek through North Carolina, starting with a headlining show by Italy’s Lacuna Coil at Greensboro’s Greene Street Club and a lively interview with the warm and lovely Cristina Scabbia (vocals). The following day came a jaunt over to Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, an intimate, underground, sparsely promoted show, and a “special evening with” Soulfly and the entire Cavalera Tribe. Stay tuned for Mike’s rundown of events.

Finally - and you knew we couldn’t leave this one alone - Mike and co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) serve up the in-depth review and analysis you’ve been anticipating (or dreading) for months: Slipknot’s upcoming fifth full-length “.5: The Gray Chapter.” While reactions on at least one of our parts are a tad early, and a patented opinion might require a few more listens, we nonetheless do our enthusiastic best to describe in thorough detail the essence of this fascinating and rather unpredictable work of metal (and yes, Slipknot IS metal).

Listen in here, subscribe via iTunes or RSS feed, and enjoy! And not to worry - after today, we’re finished with Slipknot for the foreseeable future. Perhaps.

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 34

Submissions are now closed for our ticket giveaway to see The Black Dahlia Murder at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this Monday, October 13th. But you can still submit your full name (matching your ID) and the headlining band in the email subject to podcast@metalunderground.com if you’d like to win a ticket to Attila on Friday, November 14th at the same venue.

We kick off this week’s MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast with some more unsigned talent: traditional/power metal act Sacred Ash of Westchester, New York. Formed in 2012, the band released an EP last year titled “Beneath Blackened Skies.”

Following that, co-hosts Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) and Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) kick around some ideas and reactions to some buzz-worthy metal topics of the week. Are Swiss folk metal octet Eluveitie corporate sellouts for accepting a sponsorship from automaker Honda, or are they completely sensible, given today’s difficulties in sustaining a metal music career? Who or what was truly responsible for the demise of the previous incarnation of Sweden’s The Haunted? Is founding guitarist Patrik Jensen’s explanation a fair one? And speaking of fair, who really pulled the plug on a recently cancelled Behemoth concert on a Polish university campus? Another grave injustice, or more drama queendom from bandleader Nergal?

Tune in here to listen, and don’t forget to subscribe on iTunes or RSS feed. Enjoy!

Atilla Reveals New Album Details

Attila has checked in with the following announcement about an upcoming new album release:

"We are EXTREMELY excited to announce the release of our upcoming album Guilty Pleasure. We've been working on this album for over a year and I am 100 percent confident that this is the best album we've ever created.

"Whether you were a fan of About That Life or a fan of Outlawed, this album will appeal to everyone. Even if you pretend to hate our music, you will love this album. It will be your guilty pleasure.

"Musically, this is the heaviest album we've ever written. It still has our signature sound but it's a new refreshing twist. Lyrically, I really expanded my horizons. I wrote the most personal song I've ever written on this album. I still have some ignorant party hits, but I also drop some serious knowledge on this album. Open up your ears and take it all in; we're about to drop the best album of 2014."

The track listing is as follows:

1. Pizza, Sex and Trolls
2. Hate Me
3. Rebel
4. Guilty Pleasure
5. I've Got Your Back
6. Proving Grounds
7. I Am Satan
8. Break My Addiction

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 33

Until Monday, October 13th (The Black Dahlia Murder) and Friday, November 14th (Attila), we at the MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast will be advertising ticket giveaways for the two above concerts at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. If interested, please submit your full name (matching your ID) to podcast@metalunderground.com, with one of the headlining bands in the email subject.

After introducing the song “Withered” by Canton, Ohio’s brutal death metallers TON, we kick off this week by examining another highly anticipated new album. Co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) shines a spotlight on “The Year The Sun Died,” (reviewed here) the third studio album by Seattle act Sanctuary, and first since the group reformed after more than a two-decade split. Tune in to hear his thoughts on the latest offering from singer Warrel Dane (ex-Nevermore) and company.

Next, co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) relates his (and likely many other fans’) frustrations over the interminable delays and setbacks befalling the next Veil Of Maya album, including the sudden, unceremonious departure of frontman Brandon Butler smack in the middle of recording.

Finally comes a not-so-serious reaction to the latest work of fine art from Mastodon, a video single titled “Boobs & Butts” (err, “The Motherload”). We’ll let the music, images, and our comments speak for themselves.
