New Music Video From FullForce Posted

Swedish power metal act Fullforce, featuring Ex-HammerFall/Ex-Lost Horizon guitarist Stefan Elmgren, posted a new music video for the power ballad "Strongest Thing of All." The song appears on the band's latest LP "Next Level," which is available through SPV in October 2012. A previous video for "Awesomeness" can be seen here.

Elmgren commented: "We have grown and feel confident that our new material will appeal to a much wider audience. One was a little more complex stylistically, while Next Level sounds more straightforward and compact. And while we didn't have a single ballad on our debut, Next Level features two." He refers to both the instant track along with "Smile At The World," which, according to Elmgren, have a slight Scorpions flair: "I always wanted to write a real guitar ballad and am very proud of those two emotional numbers."

Bilocate To Contribute Recipe To Metal Cookbook

Hani Al-Abbadi from the Jordanian dark oriental metal act Bilocate is going to share a recipe in the upcoming book "For Those About To Cook Pure Metal" by Bruce Moore. The following press release was issued about the book:

"For Those About To Cook Pure Metal is a collection of recipes, anecdotes and pictures from metal musicians from around the world. With contributions from numerous musical genres and countries, this is truly a multi-ethnic collector’s cookbook. Readers will be presented with recipes ranging from appetizers to full course meals and desserts.

"Pure Metal is more than a cookbook: it is also a fan collectible as it includes short informative biographies, high quality pictures of the artists (mostly in a kitchen setting)), pictures of the food and, in some cases, a quote about why the recipe or food is important to the contributor. Readers and fans will gain an insider’s view into the lifestyle and habits of the artists and bands; a sort of backstage pass or behind-the-scenes look into the lives of their favorite artists far from the stage and the studio."

FullForce Announces New Guitarist

Swedish power metal band FullForce, featuring former HammerFall guitarist Stefan Elmgren, announced that guitarist CJ Grimmark has departed the band. His replacement will be Ex-Dawn of Oblivion guitarist Stefan Rosqvist.

The announcement on the band's Facebook page reads as follows:

A few months ago guitarplayer CJ Grimmark decided to leave FULLFORCE due to some changes in his life situation which he had to put priority to. The band wishes CJ all their best for his future and they are still very good friends and it wasn't an easy decision for Grimmark to leave the band.

During the last few months FullForce have been focusing on writing the songs for their second album and also searching for the best possible replacement for CJ both musically and personally. Finally the search is over and FullForce is happy and proud to introduce guitar ace Stefan Rosqvist (ex Dawn Of Oblivion, Lale Larsson) to you. Stefan Rosqvist is a very talented, versatile guitarist and musician and the band is really excited to have him on board. FullForce have almost finished the songwriting for their yet untitled second album and is planning to enter the recording studio during this upcoming summer.

A public statement was issued by the departing Grimmark as follows:

Dear everybody,

A few months ago I informed my great friends in FullForce that I had come to the conclusion that it's time for me to step aside and let someone else fill my spot in the band. As much as I have enjoyed every moment I spent with the Mike, Anders, Stefan and Tommy and their families, I realized that I can't really contribute with the same focus anymore. [I] will not quit making music and I sure hope to see the people that I have had the chance to meet while being on the road with FF, again a.s.a.p.

To the guys in the band: THANK YOU for the great deal of fun I've had with You on the road, on rehearsals, while shooting videos etc etc.

Mike - Your enthusiasm goes way beyond that of most other people, and so does Your voice!
Anders - Your huge musical talent and sense of humor is WORLD CLASS - You're one of a kind and one of my musical heroes!
Stefan - It was an honor to be on this boat with You. Your combined skills as songwriter/ player/entertainer (on stage and in private:), backed up by true professionalism, taught me a lot.
Tommy - thanks for Your kindness, positivity, loyalty and solid bassplaying. You will be missed!

I truly wish You the very best! I feel honored to be replaced by such a talented player as Stephan Rosqvist. Best of luck and congratulations to You!

God bless, over and out!

CJ

Narnia Guitarist Issues Band Member Update

Christian power metal act Narnia officially called it a day back in 2010. Guitarist CJ Grimmark has now checked in with the following statement about the various projects of the former Narnia band members and teaser about upcoming plans:

"Hello and a happy new 2011 and 2012 (haven't been here for a while:) Sorry for the long silence! I hope You've all been well over the past 2 years. If anybody would be so kind and be a little curious about what's been going on, I'll gladly share some information with you.

"For those of You who have been here before You're most likely aware of the fact that NARNIA hasn't been around for a couple of years now. We officially split up in early 2010 and made two farewell concerts at Christmas Rocknight in Germany and Revolution Metal fest in Mexico City in late 2010.A lot of happenings and thoughts have passed since we decided to put Narnia to sleep...it's been a time of both confusion, and sometimes sadness, and well needed relaxation and blessings.

"Having been almost completely absent from the Internet and social media such as Myspace I'm guessing many of You have no clue what's been going on. So, to give You a brief update I have had the chance to make an album and tour with the new Swedish metal band Fullforce. The guys in the band are Mike Anderson, vocals (Cloudscape), Anders Johansson (Hammerfall, ex Yngwie Malmsteens Rising Force) Stefan Elmgren (ex Hammerfall) and Tommy Larsson (ex Heed). Keep Your eyes open for Fullforce in the future. I've had a truly GREAT time and lots of fun with these guys. More...

FullForce Posts Update On Tour End And New LP

FullForce vocalist Michael Andersson posted an update on the band's doings, including the writing of the band's sophomore release, now that the tour with Edguy and Kottak has ended. In a post on the band's official website, he provided the following status:

"A few weeks have passed and we’re back home after a VERY successful mini-tour with EDGUY and KOTTAK. We had an AWESOME time both on stage and also when travelling plus everything else. It was truly heart-warming to meet all fans and watch the crowd during our shows how well recieved we was and also to see so many fans singing along in our songs. We will hit the road again for sure but, right now we are waiting for yet another musicvideo to be released in a month or so which will include clips from our tour etc. We would like to thank the crew guys and EDGUY for inviting us to this tour and also our booking agency ”All Access” for making this possible and of course our label SPV / Steamhammer. Also a thanks to Skrikhult Productions since they were responsible for the Swedish shows.

"Nonetheless the last show in Essen (Germany) was cancelled because, our friend Tobias Sammet (Edguy) got an infection and had to postpone 3 shows (Essen included) so, therefor we abruptly had to go back home to Sweden. But, we will be back in Germany for sure in a not too distant future and hopefully also visiting more countries for live shows:). So, after all we are really satisfied after this successful tour where every venue we visited more or less was sold out:).

"Apart from releasing a third music video from ”One” we are now fully focusing on working on the new songs to enter the recording studio sometime during early 2012. Everything feels top notch and we are really excited and eager to record and release the new album sometime during 2012."

Pit Stories: A Tradition In The Making

We've been talking with bands and fans everywhere to get their mosh pit stories. This week, Anders Johansson, drummer of Fullforce, shares the making of an interesting tradition at the band's shows:

Well, we are a new band with just a few gigs under our belt but one thing that has happened a few times now is that when we play our song "Wall of secrets" it seems the crowd think they should pour beer onto the guitar player Stefan Elmgren. Someone somewhere started it and and it has spread. We first got a bit annoyed, but the crowd seems to show their appreciation this way in that specific song. We don't have a clue why but as long as they are happy...so are we.

The Swedish five-piece consists of members Mike Andersson (Cloudscape, Vocals), Stefan Elmgren (ex-Hammerfall, Guitars), Anders Johansson (Hammerfall, ex-Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Drums), CJ Grimmark (ex-Narnia, Guitars) and Tommy Larsson (ex-Heed, Bass). Fullforce will release its debut album, "One," via SPV/Steamhammer on July 26th in North America. The band released the first music video for the song "Walls of Secrets" earlier this year.

Be sure to check back every Tuesday for more pit stories.
