Megadeth Reveals New Album Title
In an interview conducted today at the Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, England, Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine revealed that the name of the group's forthcoming new studio album will be, "13." An excerpt from the interview reads as follows:
"It’s going to be called 13. I started playing guitar at 13 and this is our 13th record and I was born on the 13th. As soon as I said I was going to call it 13 I started noticing 13 everywhere. They never used to have 13th floors in hotels but now they have them again." More...

David Ellefson of Megadeth has scheduled several Hartke bass clinics in the U.S. kicking off on Monday, July 11th at Ted Brown Music in Tacoma, Washington. Megadeth To Play SWU Music & Arts Festival
David Ellefson has issued the following announcement about Megadeth performing at the SWU Music and Arts Festival in Brazil:
"Megadeth is confirmed to play the SWU Music & Arts Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Monday, November 14, 2011. The full line-up for the festival is yet to be announced. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 11.
"SWU (Starts With You, or 'Começa com você,' in Portuguese) is originally a Brazilian sustainability movement, which organised the rock music festival SWU Music & Arts Festival. The festival had its first edition in October 2010. Check the Killing Road for tour details at the Megadeth website."

David Ellefson Posts Studio Gear Video Clip

Megadeth To Record Custom Soundtrack For NeverDead
To expand upon the recent "Never Dead" teaser released, Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has announced that Megadeth is recording a customized soundtrack for the company’s forthcoming action-adventure franchise NeverDead. “Never Dead,” the official song sharing KONAMI’s video game title, will appear on Megadeth’s 13th album, which the band is currently recording.
“The members of Megadeth are speed-metal music pioneers with a world renowned reputation for producing song catalogs with original and progressive lyrics,” said Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “The NeverDead soundtrack is an example of pure imagination and it fully captures the essence of our game. We’re proud to have such a distinctive band associated with our title.”
Megadeth has sold over 25 million albums worldwide, with five consecutive albums being certified Platinum or multi-Platinum in the United States and have nine Grammy nominations under their belt.
“‘Never Dead’ was written specifically for the game, and the song’s lyrics and concept fit perfectly with its transcendental nature,” said Madelyn Scarpulla, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Creative Services for Roadrunner Records. “Megadeth and Roadrunner are both looking forward to the mutually beneficial marketing partnership we have established with KONAMI with the launch of NeverDead and Megadeth’s new album coming this fall.”
NeverDead, currently in production, is a third-person action game set in a futuristic world where humans are battling supernatural enemies across a dark post-apocalyptic metropolis. In the game, players will assume the role of a demonic hero agent named Bryce who, assisted by his female lead Arcadia, must undertake a series of missions to combat a demonic plague. NeverDead is expected to release later this year for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Sample Of New Megadeth Song "Never Dead" Posted
A new teaser trailer for the upcoming Konami video game "Never Dead" has been posted online, which features a sample of the new Megadeath song of the same name. You can check out the song in the clip below.

Megadeth Drummer Checks In
Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover has checked in from the studio with an update regarding the band's forthcoming new album. His message reads as follows:
"I figured it was due time to give you all a quick update. As of last night, I have completed 5 drum tracks, with song #6 and #7 in line to be done today and I am really happy with the way things are going thus far. Johnny K has been a blast to work with as he shares the same vision as we do, which is to make a solid, heavy record. We are definately on the right path here...
"We have one song completely done and submitted for a video game - without going into the details of it, anybody who knows me and what I like musically, this tune put a big smile on my face. In time, you will all hear what I am talking about, but for now, it's back to work at Vic's Garage."

Megadeth has issued the following announcement about beginning the recording process for the band's new album:
"The recording process for Megadeth's new album is now underway, with producer Johnny Karkazis (Machine Head, Sevendust, Staind, Disturbed) and is slated for a fall 2011 release via Roadrunner Records.
"The drum tracking for the album is scheduled to begin this week, with the entire recording process expected to be completed by the time Megadeth hits the road this summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival with Disturbed and Godsmack. Members of Anthrax, Slayer, and Megadeth joined Metallica on stage for a cover of Diamond Head's "Am I Evil?" Megadeth's Platinum-certified album "Peace Sells… But Who's Buying?" has been digitally remastered for the first time and expanded for a commemorative 25th Anniversary release in multiple configurations on July 12th through Capitol/EMI.
All of the versions, including a 2-CD lift-top box, digital album, and a deluxe 5Disc+3LP box set, include a previously unreleased 1987 concert from the band's first world tour and new liner notes written by Megadeth's Dave Mustaine and Metallica's Lars Ulrich. The artwork for the 5 disc, 3 LP box set can be viewed below.
