Bad news for Lay Down Rotten fans - the band is officially calling it a day, with Apostasy Records issuing the following statement:
"For nearly 16 years now, Lay Down Rotten has stood tall for energetic top-notch death metal. Their haunting live-shows at festivals like With Full Force, Rock Harz, Extremefest, Death Feast or Summer Breeze and their concerts alongside Cannibal Corpse, Bolt Thrower, Aborted a.o. always grabbed the audience by the balls."
Lay Down Rotten also had this to say: “After a very honest discussion, we all realized that the individual future plans from all band members differ too much from each other. Due to this, it doesn’t make sense to continue with the band. With a heavy heart, we decided to close the chapter LDR after nearly 16 years to move on to address ourselves to our new tasks. Needless to say, we will all stay active musicians and you’ll definitely hear from one or another again.
"We want to thank each and every one who backed us on our long road in the past. First and foremost we thank all the fans that pushed us to the maximum during our almost countless concerts.
"We are going to play all the shows that are already confirmed up until June to celebrate with you for the last time!! Thanks for your support! Lay Down Rotten laid to rot!!"

Comments singer Jost Kleinert: "We are back with a new video for the song 'Hades Resurrected.' Witness the unholy ceremony as we celebrate Death Metal in praise of Hades. This is one of the killer tracks from our new album 'Mask Of Malice:' we caught the sinister vibe of the song in a very dark and blaspheme video. Get ready for the new Lay Down Rotten with Kensington Seifert on guitars! Get ready for 'Hades Resurrected!'"

Comments the band: "After three years we are back at the front with our new album MASK OF MALICE that features 10 death metal grenades! We are honored to present our new guitarist and songwriter Kensington who is responsible for most of the killer riffs on this album. MASK OF MALICE is our darkest record to date concerning both the music and the lyrics. Our main interest was to reflect the nature of human malice in our recent music which express in straight forward up-tempo smashers and pounding mid tempo songs. We are grateful for everyone who was involved in this recording of this album!" More...

it's a long time since we postet [sic] some news here, but time didn't stand still and we wanted to give you some news again.

Our old buddy Daniel "Kensington" Seifert is on the axe now !!!!
We already wrote some new songs and we are pleased to present them on the one or another live-show in the future.
