"Getting geared up for the new year. The new album titled 'EPIC' is being mastered at this moment and will be done very soon. I have submitted the song 'MY RELIGION' for the myspace page. We had played that one at a few shows on the last tour so i wanted everyone to hear the finished version. Although the song is not a single from the record i think its cool so here it is. Upcoming tour dates for our 2 week tour will be available this week so keep checking in. Album will be released early next year and tours will follow. As always we thank you all for the support over all the years as COLD and love you all very much. New merchandise will be coming from our new store in December and I will keep you all updated as things happen. S.W."

Cold's Scooter Ward Gives Update

Cold's Scooter Ward has posted an updated regarding recent happening in the band and other things, mentioning that Cold's new album should be released in early 2010. Here's the entire update (paragraph breaks added for readability):

"Hey guys . Been a long time.Just got done playing Northern Lights and it was lovely as usual. Thanks Albany. I am sorry for the lack of updates on our pages . Since i had began the TKATS [The Killer and the Star] record in 06 i pretty much shut down to put myself in the songs. From 06 to now i have been nonstop creating and getting everything lined up for you guys. From the TKATS record, to starting SonicStar Records, to preparing TKATS for release, creating a New COLD record (and in the middle of all that set up and did 2 U.S. tours) i have been seriously overloaded and neglected certain things. I put the albums and the music on Top priority over updates and myspace blogs. But the determination and work has led to a new life for COLD and many future records and tours to come.

"We have a new album projected to release late Jan/early Feb . The working title so far is "EPIC" but you know how i like to switch it up last minute so beware. Dont ask me why(i let the music tell me what to call it i guess). The Cold army.com page has not been serviced in awhile.but honestly only a small handfull (3% or less now) of you still go there compared to this and facebook. And that is not a "diss" just stating facts.Notice a couple of people bitching on there about updates as always.). Tons of updates and new merch will be available at the end of this tour and things will start moving way faster by the beginning of the year so its all good.

"I rarely come to these sites anymore so my suggestion to you is to sign on to Twitter and follow me there for all the current updates and day 2 day things. Much love to all of you and its been wonderful seeing and feeling the love from all of yall at the shows. it's really overwhelming at times. Love you all very much. Cold has the most kindest respectful fans out of anyone. Its all about love for one band and the bond that we share with that. Here is my Twitter page. Peace out http://twitter.com/SWSONICSTAR"

Former Cold Members Resurface in The Witch

Former COLD members Scooter Ward (vocals) and Sam McCandless (drums) have set THE WITCH as the name of their new project. No further details are currently available regarding the band's lineup or musical direction.

COLD officially called it quits in February after nearly a decade as a band. Ward wrote a post on the band's web site titled "The Day the Music Died," which read in part, "When you put a song out on the radio, it is what it is. It's a gamble on your life and your career and your hope. People just didn't react the way we had hoped they would. ... But instead of having someone tell us that it's over, we choose to tell them instead. We bled on those tracks and the label just didn't see what they had. The industry today is too jaded and fake." Ward also hinted that a COLD DVD could be forthcoming.
